Welcome.
I had a busy day today. I went through Ted's clothes and dumped those too small for him. And did the laundry. As well of a few other things. I'm ready for Sunday.

Good morning, we awoke to some fierce winds...and are waiting on another storm tonight. I'll be taking GG home early today.

Have a good Sunday everyone.

Good morning. Keep safe on the roads, Sunny.
I slept in a bit after being up with the dog. Now I'm ready for a Sunday. I'll be stripping beds today. And that will be the last of the laundry for a day or two.
I hope everyone has a great day.

We didn't go to church, as I am still coughing a lot. I have been in the bath & washed & set my hair (yes I used curlers) and so here I sit. I am hungry, but I really do not want to cook.

Sunny, please be safe on the roads.

It is sunny here and will be in the 60's or so today. I think next week a day or 2 we will have a weather change for the worse.
So, for now, I am enjoying this...from indoors of course.

and I will be washing some clothes...

I am sorry you're still ill, Carol. That's bummer. But staying in is a good plan.
Bedding is about done and ready to go back on the beds.

It's a beautiful 68° here today. Hope it stays this way for a couple of days.

Carol, it seems this cough is hanging on for everyone. Just got off the phone with Ginger and Colt is coughing.

We went to church, went by Lowe's on the way home, I got home and went straight to bed and to sleep for 45 minutes while Johnny put knobs on the new bathroom cabinet. The screws that came with the knobs were too short. Weird. So we got longer ones at Lowe's.

Sunny I'm not moving to Canada. Can't drive in the snow.

Good morning.

Sheri, you'd learn to drive in snow...you'd have no choice. lol

It is storming still, over a foot for today and another foot coming Wednesday. The winds are making it a white out.

Today I'll stay in and clean house...laundry and a sticky floor are calling my name.

Feel better soon Junie.

Tina, can I come stay in your tree house? grin

Good morning. I slept very well. I was only up letting the dog out a couple of times and was able to go back to sleep immediately after bedding him back down. It is warm here.
Sunny, I need to clean house. That includes the treehouse. My older son stayed up there a few years and he wrecked it. It isn't fit for human life as it is.

Is he sick, Carol?
I've been a busy mother today. I went to the bank and took Teddy to school. Dropped a bag of recycling aluminum off to a friend. I went grocery shopping and stopped for gas. I came home and put my food away and began cooking for the next couple of days. I also readied more aluminum for more gifting. And put a load of towels in the washer. I got Teddy's lunch things packaged, ready to tuck in his lunchbox for the week and longer. And I have the house trash ready to take to the dumpster. I feel good about that.

I think we are all too busy.

My house is cleaned and mopped...laundry is going and I have a pork roast in the oven. I have no intentions of going anywhere. Our foot of snow has been followed by freezing rain...come on spring.

I am sorry, Carol. That as to cramp your style. I hope he finds something productive to do with himself when he retires.
When John retired from teaching, after traveling a bit, he went to work for a friend. It was quite nice. He worked hard until he got sick. But he was someone who had to keep moving.
I'm sorry that your snow is getting an ice coating now, Sunny. I hope you get an early spring.

Oh, I wasn't complaining about being widowed. I was just saying it is best if someone who retires has something to do. I was glad that John found something that peaked his interest.
And I feel that this is a place where we can gripe about things without being judged. It's good to let things out and not bottled up. And all of us worried about what we would do with retirement. It's a natural thing to worry about an unknown future.

OH I did not think you were complaining, Tina...I was just sitting here reading what you said, & it hit me----John was gone, I was complaining, and my man was here, and so shame on ME.

As far as retirement---for me---retirement will happen when I get put in a nursing home, that or pass away.
BUT then I think that is the way of it for all females.

Not complaining, just commenting.

My bed is calling me now--nite nite wavy

Good morning, I have to go out in a few and clean the yard...I wish the wind would stop. It is horrible out there and they are calling for another major storm tomorrow. Sometimes I wonder why we live in the places that we do.

Junie, I don't think that stay-at-home wives ever retire. I do hope that Rod finds a good hobby....my husband cannot wait to retire so that he can farm full time lol

Tina, thanks for the comment on 'griping without being judged'...it is so true kissie

Good morning. Hunker down in your storms. March comes in like a lion so maybe......
I woke at 3:30 so I've been up a couple hours. I spent the time setting up the budget for March. I think we'll live this month. It feels good to have that out of the way.
I will go to the bank on the way to school again.
We are to get rain over the weekend.
I wish everyone a great day.

Good morning again. Taking a break. I went to two banks (ATMs) and the grocery store before getting Teddy to school at 7:30. We bought juices and cookies for his class. Then I left him and his cookies and went to my favorite restaurant supply place. I had to hold myself back from splurging there. Brought it home and put it away.
I don't know what I'll do next. I hope everyone has a good day.

Thanks to you both. You are just THE best. Thanks again so much.

I went to Ceramics today....and to lunch with them. It was grand.

Then I went card shopping. Not much to pick from though I Must say.

a restaurant supply store. Alton Brown used to talk of those places a lot in his show.

I wish I lived close to one. I can tell you enjoy going to one.

Sorry for the bad weather, Sunny. BUT glad that your DH has a plan for his retirement.

Yes, I agree. Stay at home wives never get to retire.....but at my age, I do not relish someone watching me work or watching me NOT work & then telling me what to do. OH well. Perhaps we will spend a lot of time visiting grandchildren. (or perhaps I will do that)

This used to be a true restaurant supply place. For instance, they sold big #10 cans of food, or whole cases of canned goods. The smallest size you could get was an occasional six-pack meant for stocking small mom&pop stores. Although they still sell the big stuff, there is less selection. And their cookware and janitorial supplies are less also. And you can pick up individual, regular-sized cans of things. The big club stores made them change. But I still look and dream of what is there.
And I can get the wonderful stuff that the grocery store doesn't carry.

Tina, you would NOT like living in the south. The groceries are limited. The first time I went to Boston I couldn't believe the choices of bread in the stores. Arugula is hard to find in the local grocery stores. Our choices are limited.

So interesting Ginger and I were talking about men retiring today. My step dad retired at 50 and it wasn't a good idea. He was depressed, bored, (all his friends were at work) and his health has suffered. He does have a few medical issues but I'll bet if he had been occupied with working, even though he didn't need the money, he would be healthier. He's only 66 now and is constantly looking for things to keep him busy. If he were married to a younger woman, my mother is 84, maybe he would travel a lot but my mother won't travel much anymore so he's sort of stuck. I think women have more to do or find more to do. When my children were little and in school during the day I volunteered at the school and did the cheerleading squad and Bible School and so on but the majority of men just don't do that sort of thing. I hope Johnny will NEVER retire. I love him but can't deal with him around the house. I have to keep him a list to keep him busy because he just doesn't see what needs to be done on his own.

Tina does your dog wake you up all during the night needing to go out? Thankfully Andy sleeps all night.

Sunny I hate wearing a coat and rarely do. I imagine I'd get used to that in Canada though.

Good morning. Tina, in like a lion and out like a lamb I pray...it is storming again. Over another foot is to fall again.

Sheri, I hate wearing coats as well....most times I wear a tank top, t shirt and a heavy sweatshirt everywhere. I dress in layers but I always keep a down winter coat in the trunk of my car. I am used to the cold.

I went to visit the grands yesterday and ended up taking home my grandson...he'll stay until Thursday. He is teething and has been up all night the past week...funny thing is that he went to bed at 9 pm here and only woke after 7 this morning. Grammie works magic lol

Have a good day everyone.

Thanks Tina, he is one healthy happy little guy. Well not little, he is 7 months old and is wearing size 18 month old clothes grin

The snow is still falling, it is a fine gritty snow. Meaning it will snow a lot but not be heavy or wet enough to take out power lines. GG just called wanting to know if I can go up and shovel out their living room windows...she wasn't pleased that I told her she'd have to wait until tomorrow. lol

Carrie has to work early again tomorrow so we will start on next weeks lessons... try to stay ahead now .. be nice for him to enjoy spring break .

Well another early morning for me... going to go hit my pillows as soon as I brown the meat to make stew tomorrow... will put it all together in crock pot for Joe to start tomorrow...

He finished painting the dresser/ changing table too...it's in kitchen now- Yay ... I get to have more storage where I need it now.. 3 drawers and a cupboard with shelf space.. and a counter I can put plants on.. and my cookie jar...

Have a good evening all!

More storage sounds like a wonderful thing, Nana. And getting ahead on the schoolwork is awesome. Stew sounds pretty good as well. I may have to make some soon.

I am glad you are better, Carol.
Good morning. I am well and good for the day. It's cooler today and heading for rain this weekend. I am looking forward to that. We need the rain.
I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning.

It is so cold and there is too much snow out there to deal with...I feel like hiding under a rock, but then I'd have to dig it to find one first lol

My husbands truck wouldn't start this morning either...the starter froze up. I had my car plugged in so it started, barely. Days like this are discouraging. There is no way I am taking a chance on bringing the baby back today.

~~Tam~ You can bury all your troubles by digging in the dirt.
