I am wondering when and if we will start with a new Coffeehouse #1 or even a Tea Room #1??

I am glad your pre-op went well Junie kissie

Tina, has the rain lessened or are you still enjoying the wet weather?

Today I have errands and GG is coming for the weekend. We laughed last night, we bought her a phone for her bedroom and learned her our phone number. Well last night she decided to start calling....to the tune of 19 calls in four hours lol

I am hoping you all have a good day ahead.

Good morning. That's a lot of calls, Sunny. I hope she settles into something more moderate soon.
I have some errands to run as well and and things to wash. So my day is pre-planned for me.
We are having a dry day today and another storm coming in on Saturday. So we have a bit of time for things to soak in a bit before the next rains.

well good morning.

As usual my day just got changed up for me as well. I will be going to the bank and then to see Momma long term today.

At this rate, I may well not have to put up my Christmas Tree for next year.

and a NOTE:

If anyone has Windows 10, I advise against adding the upgrade to it that they are sending out just now-(say since Christmas) 50% of the time I have a red line under every sentence I type. Mistakes or not,and my drivers contantly stop working when I am playing solitaire.

I haven't heard a good thing about Windows 10 from anyone..seems like they worsen things as they try to better them.

I had errands today...groceries and a trip to pick up GG. I have been really budgeting more than normal. It feels good to spend less and save the difference.

I wish I could budget as you do. I am so proud of the way you do, Sunny.

I am going to begin to make to do lists for around here...

I went to Moms, made a lot of phone calls & then went to my sister's & we crunched some numbers for Moms living expenses.

Is your mother's living conditions going the change after her recovery, Carol?
I cooked a bit today. I have meals for the next few days. And a couple in the freezer. It feels good to have that done.

Evening all,

It is cold and snowy again here... about3 inches of that white stuff out there... brrrrrrr!
I spent the morning getting my last 3months of med expenses to send in and get my money from the acct they setup for me , don't see why they just can't pay them first... would be more efficient... but I know they count on me not getting them together and sending them in...next will be getting tax stuff ready... always my favorite ... NOT!

Boys stayed home this afternoon so we will have a quiet evening... made a batch of stew earier so dinner is done... my fridge froze up again so may just be buying a new one after all... Joe has it empty again and is defrosting the ice out... trouble with that is it blocks the back door...other fridge is out there...so now I have 2 icechests with some of the stuff in them, rest is outside... not a good thing..

Well I am going to go eat and then see if I can research new fridges..

ohyes, I am not a fan of windows 10 either...

Nana: (sorry for the snow)

Change your timer in the fridge--we thawed out our fridge for years---we had it down to a science we did it so often...My DH changed all kinds of parts he thought might be causing it. hen he finally said well we will try this, and of it does not work we well get a new one--& he changed the timer..and yep, that was it. We left it behind when we sold the farm as every time my DH looked at it he was reminded of the trouble he had with it....but yep it worked well once the timer was changed.

Tina---I missed something---will you have wet weather or snow coming???

I do not know if I am getting sick, or if this feeling is allergies??? Great--Just Great.

Nana, good luck on the new frig. How long have you had yours? The new ones don't seem to last very long.

I don't like Windows 10 either. I'm thinking of going back to Windows 7. I've talked to the tech guy and he says once the bugs are worked out it will be great. He said I need to check for updates every day!!!!! Are you kidding me????? Ain't nobody got time for that.

Our fridge is about6 yrs old... trouble is it's all computer run... probably doesn't even have a timer... when it was just out of warranty.. it did this and we had it fixed... was 400 then to fix and all he did was replace the computer... so think it must be same thing.. so that's about 1/3 of what a new one will cost... so either pay to have it fixed again and hope it lasts longer or just bite the bullet and buy a new one and hope it lasts longer..
so we will see...

Well really off now... Unforgetable is starting..

usually Microsoft just send me updates & they get installed. BUT this the update I am talking about, I kept getting notices that I had to "OK" this update...I thought it was a virus of some sort, so I held off until my daughter & her tech DH were here the weekend before Christmas. he said yes it is safe, they have just worked out some of the bugs that 10 had---well I was 100% happy until I accepted this last "update"......B
I did get a notice saying I needed new drivers, and could install them with some upgrade or other. But as before, I did not know if it was a legit request/offer or not---I have not ever gotten that offer again...

I will go to bed soon...ish

I have Windows 7 and I shut my updates off...haven't had a problem with it. I also have an annual purchase of Bitdefender for my antivirus.

I hate the new appliances...nothing is made to last anymore. I try to buy the most basic of what is available but even then. We had our new fridge 6 years also then the compressor went...it was going to cost more for the repair than just buying another one. So we just went with a new one again.

It is cold out today....and calling for freezing rain on Monday. I'd rather the snow.

I hope you don't get freezing rain, Sunny. Or not much. Nasty stuff.
Good morning. I have been up awhile. It's cold and I didn't want to crawl out from my blankets. It is supposed to rain today. Then dry up for the next several days. I'm looking forward to it.
I think it's time to wash bedding today so that is my plan.

Sadly I am not well. I hope whatever this is is short lived. (possibly a cold)

It is raining here--just starting to snow at the airport in St. louis (about 40-50 miles south west from here)

The news is saying that Troy Illinois is already getting snow....That is about 30 minutes south of here.

So we are going to get snow for sure..and so they say, a lot of it. rolz

I hope they are wrong...I think it is a good bet they are correct.

I feel for you Carol, we have snow on the ground and it's been really cold... and hope your cold is shot lived... hubby is having allergies right now..never stops for him... we have been burning wood in the fireplace and I think that is what sets him off...

We decided to bite the bullet and get a new fridge, defrosted ours again and it will hopefully work till new one comes in the 26th, we bought the least fancy one we could... more or less same one we have... trouble is the only one that fits the space that isn't way over our budget...

Well I just found Yankee Doodle Dandy on tv.. one of my favorites , so going to watch it and then hit my pillows.... have a good evening everyone.

The snow has stopped and is gone. BUT it is going to get down to 15 tonight. From what they say that will not be the problem. The problem will be the chill factor. supposedly it will feel like 55 below. Now I am hoping my sickness had me hearing that number wrong... prayers ....but it will definitely feel worse that 15. ON that I am clear.

A nice person would stay up & listen to the news but I am soon going to bed/sleep.
Keep warm..
Nana I am happy you are getting a new refrigerator. I hope this one lasts longer for you.

You make me worry about mine. We bought it new in the winter of 04/05. BUT so far so good.

Night night.

Then take it easy today, Carol. Keep close to home and don't share it. You will be blessed.

Good morning. I woke to a flurry of activity this morning. No details but it included a dog bath and carpet cleaning. All before I had my coffee. But I have my coffee now and I will settle into my daily routine shortly. It just includes some laundry I wasn't counting on before.

Gracious, Tina. so glad things are back to normal now...sorry for the early morning activity.
The coffee should help.

I went back to sleep at 6am & I slept until 9:30. So that was a good thing.
I too am drinking coffee now...

Good morning..well partially lol . We are covered in ice....we had a wind storm last night followed by ice pellets, freezing rain and then rain. It is a horrid mess out there. They are calling for a flash freeze after lunch and they never even cancelled school. touched I kept GG here...common sense says keeps kids off the roads.

I missed the chatting I see, nice to see a few pages to read after missing a day. We had a toilet leak before Christmas...we lifted it and put a new seal. It didn't work so I put a blue puck in the back and red food dye in the bowl trying to see what was leaking. We then noticed a hair line crack in the bowl, so guess what we done yesterday? Yup, a trip to find an open hardware store on Sunday and a toilet installation.

Today the plan is too just clean a bit and pass the mop around. I am waiting on losing power at any time. rspb

Good morning. Crazy weather you are having. Mother Nature must be hormonal, Sunny. I'm glad that you're keeping GG out of school and safely home.
We have cool dry weather so I'll be taking Teddy to school. It will be nice for him after the long vacation.

Good Morning. A headache woke me this morning. I am now taking down my Christmas decorations a bit at a time now.
Tylenol is a wonderful thing.

Sunny, sorry for the ice storm but glad that you decided to keep GG home where she will be safe.

Tina: Glad that your weather is cooperating and that Teddy gets to go to school today.

Everyone keep warm. It has not snowed here again, YET. I think they are now talking of it coming again on Saturday.

It is supposed to be warmer here today (in the mid 30's) then back to colder temps beginning Tuesday.

Keep warm & safe everyone.

25° here this morning but it's sunny and calm so I'm not complaining. I like it cold IF it's calm. Sunny, I definitely do NOT want ice. We are not equipped for ice but people refuse to stay home. I've never understood why people will risk their life to get to work or the store or wherever rather than wait for it to melt. It's not like it won't eventually melt around here. Going to pick out granite for my new bathroom cabinet. Oh boy!

It's 54* here. Downright balmy.
Boy, am I tired. I'm all for a nap when I'm done typing. I went to the bank and took Teddy to school. Then I shopped at two different stores and came home. Put that away and collected my garbage and took that to the dumpster. Then out I went again and made a stop for Jonni and then went and picked up Ted from school. I delivered some of the snacks I bought then. The rest will go in tomorrow.
Now I'm coming unglued with tiredness.

Boy, it sounds as if you have been busy today, Tina.

I am going to sleep a bit later tonight. Hopefully that is a good thing.

Good morning.

I'll take some of your nicer weather if you'd all like to share. My driveway is a skating rink....literally. GG will be out today giving her new skates a try lol I will be taking her back up to her mom's and school at lunch time.

I hope you got your much needed rest Tina.

What colour of granite did you pick Bestofour?

We are counting down with you Junie kissie

Good morning. I did get rest. I was wakened too early this morning by the dog but it will be good enough.
I pray this is a good surgery for you, Carol.
Be careful on your icy roads, Sunny.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes. I am waiting now for an answer from my Dr. as I type on my surgery. I called and spoke to the Drs. medical assistant on the matter. She is getting in tough with the Dr. for me.

In the mean time I have much to do in preparation for if I do have the surgery. Cleaning/bill paying & such....

Afternoon all,

Well its warmer today... still have some snow on the ground.... had an interesting thing happen yesterday.. the blinds in one of my family room windows just fell apart on one side.. string rope just broke window faces the sun most of the day.. so think it just rotted away...so hubby went to the depot..got a new set..
I am doing school 3 days I a row this week.. came home yesterday and crashed, actually fell asleep in my chair... today he woke up early so we got an early start and managed to do lessons for today and tomorrow and finished up a past due one... and managed to do a couple of our Colorado history lessons too... that's a yr long course with lots of details and reports to do and we have to do a field trip too.. as soon as it's little warmer and drier..thinking the Littleton Farm Museum.. has a working farm, farmhouse and a one room school house and demos of different skills used ...that will be one of the reports for that course... have I mentioned I just love the 4th grade..
Well he just announced he is hungry...gotta feed him ..

carol hope your surgery goes well and recovery too...

Nana

Nana, doesn't Nicoli have abdominal migraines or did I make that up? There's a billboard in my town that says something about abdominal migraines in children. Must be more common than we know. I don't know how you home school. I have been teaching Sunday School for prek and it takes a LOT of time in preparation.

Carol we've had a few doctors just up and quit too. I think they're sick of the insurance situation and being employees of the hospitals instead of being in business for themselves.
