Hot and humid in North Carolina. We lived in Hawaii for a while and it was just like this. Didn't like it then don't like it now. My hair is fuzzy. Today I went to Shelley's and we made gingerbread houses. Had icing from one end of me to the other.

Almost Christmas.

Sheri: When did you steal it--last year ??? I have one but I am not using it now...LOL glad you like it though I must say.

It is sorta scary about the weather... when we went out today I had a short sleeved sweater on & a long sleeved sweater...no coat on the 24th of December----Ya gotta wonder...just when the other foot is gonna drop... why

Apparently I over-bought for my oldest grandson & my DD (their Mommy) noticed what I didn't buy as much for the youngest. blush

But the ONE gift that the oldest told his Mom he wanted was a crane...& not a remote control crane---Just a crane...Now, his Mom has wondered where he ever saw one,,but at any rate, since we BOTH bought him a remote control excavator, ours went back & she bought the crane with that money & so he was as happy as a clam with it & he really needed no other gifts...Lordy he better like the remote control excavator that his parents got him. he will open it tomorrow morning.

My youngest Grandson opened up a box of tiny books and he kept showing them to us for the entire time we skyped together..he has that Skyping thing down pat..(he was 1 in October).

It did make me feel as if they were here, and I was grateful for that. I am so glad that my DD thought of that...and of course I had, but I do not suggest so much to her---

I will soon go to bed...sweet dreams to you all..and to all a good night.

Merry Christmas! We are going to open gifts at about 10. That gave my oldest daughter plenty of time to get here. And me plenty of time to get snacks on.
Many in California are having a white Christmas. It's wonderful to watch. But I am glad we are not. At least, not yet.

Your Christmas sounds wonderful, Tina. I know you will enjoy it.

We just finished talking on Skype with my oldest DD & her family.

my Grandson got a kitchen & we had bought him food stuff to go with it. he spent his time cooking for us.

he also got a new big boy bed (a tractor) to sleep in.

Last night we opened gifts with our youngest DD and her family via Skype. That was wonderful..Just like we were there.

Today we will go spend some time with my mom & Rod's Mom. Then it is so warm out that Rod is going to grill our dinner.supper.

I wish everyone a [Linked Image]

Merry Christmas everyone! Not much to do today since the kiddos aren't here, got everything under the tree for when they return tomorrow, stayed up late, then slept in :).

Christmas is over here. And cleaned up after. I'm thinking soup for dinner tonight. Or for me because there are enough leftovers around to fend for yourself. Teddy will wipe out the cranberry sauce.

Christmas did not really happen for me today. I did get to skype with my oldest DD and her son this morning.
That was very nice indeed.

Later, Rod & I went to visit his mom then mine.

My nephew who is in the army was there with his sister. Mom had a room full of guests then. It was a good day.

Rod grilled some beef on our grill for us and I fixed the trimmings.

it was a nice day at home, just not a Christmas to me.

Merry 1st day of Christmas to you all.

Merry Christmas to all & to all a Good Night.

The day after Christmas. Ate too much and laughed a lot.

I think it's raining out there again today. And it's about 80 degrees. I hope this strange weather will confuse the summertime bugs and they'll just go away. (hope springs eternal).

Good morning. I am glad that the season is over for now. And I hope the spring/summer bugs are dead too. Next summer's and fall's harvest should be lovely.

Decided to stay in today. It has been raining heavily off & on all day. We have a lake started in our already low backyard.

The one small crack in the basement wall has kept up busy replacing layers of old towels & drying the wet ones all day.

They say this will continue at this rate all the rest of today and tomorrow & possibly Monday..with a break on Tuesday.

I guess it is good that it is so warm. This much snow and/or ice would not be a good thing at all.

The basement is sure a concern, but as long as we stay on top of it, it should be ok. Thanks for the well wishes, Tina.

We went uptown for supper and many of the yards we passed were lakes, not to mention parts of roads were flooded.
When we got home & were watching the weather report on KSDK they showed how "Worden" had the most rain in the area with 3.22 inches....and it is still falling, with no report of it slowing up any time soon.

News just said the rain is not thought to slow up and then begin to stop until Monday afternoon. egad

as for the towels--there is about 4 or so in 2 different piles, so not so many but in this heavy rains we have to be watchful. next summer when things are really dry, Rod will dig on the outside of the crack & repair it--again. Silly builder poured the basement, then broke in to put the water in then sealed it on the inside instead of the outside. rolz

I am hoping that "they" are mistaken as well.

To hear my DH tell it, it will be no big deal. But thanks.
I could have sworn that he already did that repair once---perhaps he did not dig down low enough....

I will say g'nite now--although I will be staying up for a few hours to check the towels.

I hope you can get warm soon, Tina. Sweet Dreams everyone.

Good morning. Brr, it's cold out there, and in here. I'll have to bake something today to take off the chill.
I wonder what Sunny's up too. I miss her a lot.

Good afternoon.

Tina, Sunny has been hit with a flu virus....a bad one. I have nosebleeds from the high fevers, cold one minute and froze the other. I have had a few bugs lately but this one has been severe. I took sick Christmas afternoon and am still sick. I took medication but it is making me too loopy to look after GG.

I am hoping Christmas was kind to everyone.

Junie, I pray the rain stops soon...I as well am glad I have no basement to deal with. It seems everyone who has one has their share of water troubles with them.

We are in the middle of another snow storm.

OH MY--Sunny I am so very sorry to hear this. I hope you are feeling all well soon.
I have bene lucky so far this year. I hope to keep up the trend.

The basement is dry all but this one little place. As I said before, this summer Rod will have to dig out by the crack on the outside and use (is it tar?) to seal up the crack from the outside.

I have been wore out lately. I cannot seem to go a full day w/o a nap. I just woke up from today's sleep session when the phone rang. It seems that my MIL dropped her Christmas picture book, that we took her from her grand daughter, and decided she could get it herself & slid out of her wheel chair. all would have been ok but she then fell forward & hit her forehead on the bed railing & now has goose eggs on her head.

It is STILL raining here. We have disconnected our Manger Scene from the electricity during this down pour.

Yes, best to be safe. There is enough inherent fire danger this time of year without courting more.

Good morning, the snow has stopped and a Wind chill warning is upon us. I think it is going to be a long Winter. DH got called out at 4 am to plow roads...it's messy out there.

I am feeling a bit better today...just sore, my back aches like a tooth ache. I certainly won't be out cleaning the driveway today.

I have been watching the news, the weather is so devastating in the US, I pray you are all spared such damage and tragedy.

Good morning. I hope the aches and pains leave you soon, Sunny.
I have had enough cold weather to last a couple of months. But it isn't supposed to get really warm in the near future. This morning it is 35* outside and pretty darned cold inside too. I am definitely baking something today to help with the chill.
And then later I will climb up on the roof to check for damage from the heavy winds we had the last couple of days.
My day in a nutshell. I hope it is better for everyone else.

Good Morning! Happy 4th day of Christmas.

They reported your weather problems on our news last night, Sunny. They did say something about how it could have be worse.
Take it easy & feel better soon.

We have flash flood warnings in our county and many surrounding ones as well. There are some bad areas I would have to go thru to get to a Drs. appt. today. So, I rescheduled it as it was just for a check-up.

I am drying towels & washing clothes now.

Keep safe, Carol. I am glad you were able to reschedule your appointment. The pictures of the areas of the nation coming on my TV are terrible. It makes me ashamed to complain about my cold weather. But I'm cold and it hasn't warmed up at all outside. It has slightly indoors though.

I know (referring to the complaining, Tina).

Me too..it may be we/colder here & there may be lakes where ground used to be, but I am warm, and dry & my house is in one piece & no one is dead. Thankful is what I too am.

I ran some errands today. Then when I made supper, I made enough so that I do not have to cook a new one tomorrow night--YAY me. (& yay that Rod will eat leftovers.)

again I am tired...I slept like 7 1/2 hours last night... why

I think the early dark is playing with us along with the weird weather, making us sleepy. I can hardly wait for my bedtime.
Tomorrow I have to go out and get a few items we're going to run out of soon. So it's time to leave the nest.

Good morning, it is chilly out today...a small storm for the afternoon ahead.

I hope your roof was spared damage Tina...be careful on those watery roads Junie. I see Illinois is so water soaked on the news, it is scary.

GG went for her first sleepover with my mother...I really needed an evening of rest. Mind you I dream so much at night that I wake up more tired than when I went to bed.

Today I am doing nothing...well besides making supper. I need to get a new budget binder in order though for the new year...these are times when I miss having a printer.

Have a good one everybody.
