Good morning. I slept well last night. I can see the shortening of the days happening. It's a little later wait for the sun to come up and a little earlier for it to go down.
Today is my oldest's 43rd birthday. I feel old.
School starts on Monday for Teddy. This begins his last year. This makes me quite sad.

Tina, school only starts here in to the first week of September. Happy Birthday to your oldest.

I am glad the rain is spreading around...you can take the extra earwigs also lol

I have to go pick up GG later, i have been doing some birthday prep for her party next week.

I am hoping your legs are feeling better Junie.

School..hummmm I wonder if Luke will go back to school this fall since they are moving..whenever..

Of course I would think that this summer has flown by, but it seems a shame school is soon to start (I think it starts somewhere in the last 2 weeks of August. I too think it should start after Labor Day.

Birthday prep.... egad Except for a few "milestone birthdays", I always just had family parties. Less stress on me that way I thought. But I understand about changing times.
I hope you got a lot done while GG was gone.

It is a beautiful day out today. I so wish I could go out & do some (read a LOT) of weeding & there is dead-heading that desperately needs done.

Good news is I got 2 tomatoes today. Now I just hope they taste good.

Tina, I'll let you know about how the Tomatoes taste tomorrow.
I thought to save them for the weekend.

I now have Windows 10. I will let you know if I think that is a good thing or not after I have used it for awhile.

I had the other half of yesterday's tomato on a sandwich with bacon today. Very good.
My computer tried to download windows 10 a few days ago. I canceled it. I wanted to look into it further before I got it.

I am afraid to download the 10 on my laptop... it is slow already and I use it daily- my main desktop is the one I use for bills too so don't want to do it till I am sure it will work ok... my dd said to do it on the desktop the kids use... it's newer .. she said the download takes hours so I will go start it now and let it run till it's done... my dd did it on her laptop and she likes it ....

We had family company today, my nephew was here for his wife's family reunion in Colorado Springs... we all went out for lunch... it was fun but they have a 8 yr old daughter they allow to boss them around and she does whatever she pleases ,.. he even kicked her mom and there were no consequences...I don't like putting up with kids like that- or keeping my mouth shut ... so was a hard afternoon for me.. none of my kids ever would have acted like that - especially in public... okay rant over....

Our school starts the next to last week of August... going to be a little stressful with Derek and Nicoli going back to school for the first time in 2 yrs... keeping our fingers crossed it all works out... will be a big change for them both.... and Timba is starting high school..... time sure has flown...

Our trip to SD is next week... really looking fwd to it.... have our list of stuff and groceries to take... it's only 3 days so won't be a lot of stuff ...

Well off to get the last load of laundry done... and run dishwasher before I hit my pillows... been going to bed early lately- seems to help me get to sleep before midnight so get more sleep that way... really hate having insomnia but so far it hasn't affected how I feel during the day...

Have a good evening all!

Nana

We needed a new modem anyway as we just upgraded our internet speed, (so in the end we will be ok.) My DH wants to buy the modem, but we will wait until our SIL advises us on that.
I do not mind it so far---however it is not a lot of fun trying to figure it out. They "think" they are telling you things in the set up (all together it took like maybe 2 hours) but if you are computer inept like me they told me next to nothing.
but I am learning..all be it slowly.

Boy ! you have been busy, Nana. have fun on your vacation !

I am not tired, but I guess I will go to bed soon.
Night night everyone.

Good morning. I slept on the living room floor last night...apparently my body likes doing that. why

However I did not like getting up & down...

Good morning...wishing I could share this rain with Tina. I don't think she'd take the humidity though.

My computer came with Windows 7 and Google chrome...neither has impressed me. I'll not be upgrading either with this little netbook.

We are attending a little fair today...it should be fun. Rain is supposed to hold off until 3 pm.

Good morning.
It sounds like you need a very firm mattress, Carol. I slept on the floor for years with just a sleeping bag padding under me. My bones liked it. But getting off the floor any more is a tricky.
Have fun at the fair today, Sunny.
I will probably be complaining about too much rain by the end of spring. El Nino is supposed to fix much of our drought (not all) but it will bring its own problems with it. Our infrastructure for handling rains have been neglected. I plan on redoing my sandbags.
Off to get more of my day done.

Tina: I have a sleep number bed. Tt us usually set at 95, so yes I need a very firm bed.
My legs have been restless at night for a few days now. If I sleep in the bed all I do is toss & turn. I was afraid I would wake Rod up so I got up. Then I was trying to sleep on the couch (I cannot move so much there) & my legs bothered me worse there...so then I went to the floor & slept well. I guess I could have just been exhausted by then though.

I hope when rain does come, it is not to much for you, Tina.

I ate my small tomato last night when I could not sleep. It was much better than store bought, but it was not as good as in years past. I still enjoyed it though.

I too hope that Sunny & her family have a wonderful time today.

Good Morning ! I slept long & well last night--YAY !!

And everyone guess what I did yesterday ??? I went out & weeded a portion of my big flower bed. Thank goodness foxtail pulls out easily
Then I also dead-headed some of my flowers. I am now excited to do the rest of that bed. IT will have to wait though, I have a busy week ahead.

Good morning. I went out first thing with my dog and my coffee and bagged up leaf litter. It was lovely. But it is getting too hot to work now.
I have laundry going inside that I will be putting on the line. And haircuts and grooming will be happening later. Getting ready for Ted's last year of school.

You are so lucky to have an outside line, Tina. I so envy you that. I am also glad that you got to go out this morning in the cool part of the day.

Today we went to church, to see my MIL, then to eat lunch. Now we are home, and I too am washing clothes for the next week.

The clouds are trying to build. I hope they do not succeed in bringing up more rain.

I hope you don't get more rain as well, Carol.
I have wanted a line for a long time. But my back yard is full of trees, shade and birds. My dryer broke so I strung some telephone line off a reel laying around. I have three short lines. Two strung across my patio and one off my back porch. The patio is covered and screened in. The back porch is just covered. No bird droppings on my laundry. I like it so well that I haven't done much towards repairing or replacing the dryer yet. I'll get around to it.

If my covered porch was in the back & not the front, I would do the same. I so loved to put my clothes out, esp. in the spring & fall when it was windy. I also thought it helped with whitening.
