staples are removed, The Nurse and then the surgeon said I was healing well. he showed us the x-rays also.

He said I could do whatever I felt like doing, and to try to wean myself off of the walker. He said I could go out as I pleased. Even told me I could go out when the therapy was not here. (I think he is mistaken on that)
And, OH....I cannot drive for 6 weeks yet. I go back to see the Dr. in 6 weeks and then I am assuming he will allow me to drive again.

Val & Henry are here now. Brian will be here tomorrow, Then we will all go to the father's day party at my Nephews house.

Going to bed soon..nite--nite

Good news Carol...I am so happy for you. kissie Getting out when you can will be good for you.

You know GG is so smart for her age, she stated that she'd only get two things from the dollar store and that she wouldn't ask for anything at WM because she knows that "Grampie doesn't have extra pay right now". I think being honest with kids from the start about money situations is a good idea.

Tina, I am sure a month of no travelling will be a nice break as well.

I am hoping to get my grass cut today....well more weeds than grass but you know what I mean lol

Thanks, Ladies.

Sunny, I too think children benefit from honesty. It teaches them a a lot. Sounds like your GG is doing well.

Rod cut the grass 2 nights ago, right before the last big rain storm. He cut it high so that the yard would not look like the cutting needed baled. LOL. So he said last night, it needed cut again (you know the next night) but Valarie came early, so, he will try tomorrow or Monday night.

Val & Henry are sleeping long & hard right now. I am glad for them both. Valarie was concerned about Henry missing his nap this afternoon, so now she will not have to worry as much. Plus they both lost 2 hours sleep last night when Henry decided to be up, so a good nap for both of them will help a lot.

I hope you have a great day, Carol. And can sit a bit and be waited on.
I am doing not much today. Just a relaxing time of it.

Good morning, I spent yesterday on lawn duty and such...today I ache.

I've got a question. How can two loving parents raise a demon for a child? Anyone have the answer for me...I am so fed up with my daughter. I can feel her wearing me out again.

I have no idea either.
My sister & I have had many a conversation about such things.
It seems it is just the luck of the draw. As far as I have seen, good parents can do everything right & still it happens.
Sorry. I hope it one day gets better for you.

Bad News: It is once again pouring down rain.

Good News: It appears that the Storms/Tornado watch is going further south & should miss us.

Good morning. I am up and ready for the day ahead. I need to make a plan for it yet. And see what I can get done in spite of the humidity. There are phone calls to make if all else fails.
I wish everyone a good day.

Good morning.

It is pouring outside...I wish I could send some Tina's way. I seen some flooding in Illinois on the news, I do hope it skips you Junie.

Not much planned today except for cleaning and mopping. I have a chicken in the crock pot and I need to figure out this month's budget. I am going to order GG's birthday gifts as well so that I can stretch the cost of everything over two months.

I really need my job to pick up....my boss's daughter is home from school and picking up 'my' shifts for a month. I'm on call so there's not much I can do about it.

Good Moring !
NOT raining here.. party (I probably should not have said that, huh ??)

Well first the home health nurse called me (w/o telling me who she was or where she was from) She is coming between 11 & 12.

Then my Home Therapist called & she is coming at 11. I figure the nurse will not show up at 11.

THEN !! When I am done, my cousin is taking me to get a pedicure, bless her..and Lordy I sure need one !!!
I could not reach my feet before, never mind now---LOL--I think Lunch will be involved.

Yay for nice days Junie.

Tina, grandgirl is getting a toy bin organizer for all those little toys that she is now into. I also ordered her a box of smaller legos with the base plate. I also plan to get her a movie and an outfit....I have to pay for the party as well so I am scaling back.

Sounds like a nice set of gifts, Sunny. If that is scaling back, your GG is one lucky little lady indeed.

I am wiped out. I just woke up from a 1-1/2 hr. nap.

I think I may go to sleep early tonight.

Sounds good, Sunny. My kids got one party growing up. Gifts depended on money and needs. GG is starting regular school this year, isn't she? Does the school require uniforms or just street clothes?
You had a busy day, Carol. Rest is good for you. Sweet dreams.

Thanks Tina.

My kids had very few actual parties where "THEY" invited people to it.
But every year we had family parties. It was an excuse for my family to get together...if one of the kids had a birthday we had a party...yes, the kids got gifts, but primarily we all just got together. As my girls were both born in April, I usually just had one family party for them both.

going to sleep now.
Nite nite wavy

Yes, my family was far spread. So the regular years we had just the gifts cake and ice cream with just the immediate family and a friend.
I am heading to bed myself. Sweet dreams all.

Good morning.

Scaling back means we usually buy more for birthdays than Christmas. I've set a limit of $125 though this year for gifts. I always had a party until school starts then it is a one friend and one outing venture from there. her B-party only consists of a few cousins and a few family members. About 15 people.

I am hoping to get a sitter so that I can go pick strawberries for jam today...wish me luck.

BTW>>>we need a new coffeehouse.

My children had birthday parties but what people do and spend today is ridiculous to me. Ginger fell into that trap, because Colt was invited to elaborate parties, but this year she had his party at a park with cup cakes and ice cream and the kids had a blast. They don't care if Spiderman shows up. They just want to play.

Sunny, our strawberries have been looooong gone. I took Colt last year, he was 3, and he did fine picking.
