Today is jumping. I did a bank run, stopped at a grocery store then I took Teddy to school. Dropped him off with ice cream cups for his whole class. Then I went for gas. Came home and put the rest of my groceries away. (Those were the ones I wasn't going to stop for.) I put my trash together to take out to the dumpster. Washed my trash cans out and they are drying. I'm tired already.
On to the next thing on my list.

I guess rain or shine we are both always busy.

I got caught up on laundry and did some baking today as we watched the rain fall...we had roast chicken for supper in the slow cooker, I forgot how tender and yummy it is that way.

I only got a few more things done this afternoon. It was too hot to do much. I watched a fire a few miles away but they got that out before it got to far gone. Only 5 acres burned about a mile away from me. Less fuel for the next one. A BLT is on my agenda for tonight.

Afternoon all,

We are home and I need a vacation to recover from my vacation... was just to hot for me in AZ... not a lot to do for me when going outdoors made me feel sick... kids had fun and I enjoyed swimming with them after sun went down... we were all ready to come home though... was a rough ride just as we left NM and got to Az we hit a rain storm- was not fun driving thru that but wasn't much traffic, slowed us down some but we made it alright...
I have our laundry started and Joe went to buy a few groc till we can get to store to replenish for real..maybe tomorrow...

It's really cool here for June... still having rain most days, our grass is about a foot high... it's nice though not to have to put in the cooler yet... saving money I like...

Well off to start another load.. why does traveling cause so much laundry!

Nana

And now I'm going to say good night. I am trying to edge Teddy off to bed a little early. I don't expect it to be hard to do. Sweet dreams all.

I just thought to say "hi".

Nanà: I hope that you had a nice vacation. I love to go swimming. You are ver6 fortunate in that Joe will do grocéry shopping for you.

Tina: I am glad that the fire was put out quickly, and I hope that Ted was agreeable to go to bed so you too could go to sleet a Bit sooner

Good morning. Ted went to bed early last night and was happy to do so. The heat takes a little out of us. Now I am up and ready for the day. I wonder what I will do with this day?

Good morning.

It's nice to have Nana back with us.

Today GG has an eye appointment and I am hoping to be back in time to start my yearly staining of my steps and such. It seems that no matter what brand or price of the stain I buy...our severe winters remove it off of everything.

I have to see about rebuilding a ramp up to the deck door and the steps onto my front porch. Home ownership is a never ending round of repairs, isn't it, Sunny?

Good afternoon. I did very little with my time today. It is ninety-seven degrees in the shade of my porch. My dog needs to go out and then regrets it and wants to come straight back in. Me too. So I am taking it easy.

Evening all,

Believe me it's nice to be back too... enjoyed seeing relatives in Az but it was way to hot there for me.. can't believe I lasted over 30 yrs in that heat...

We did our shopping today and got fridge stocked back up... made a good dinner and am stuffed now... Joe bbq . steak , roasted corn on the cop and baked taters, really good... I am to full to move now....LOL!

Joe went over and helped Carrie and Jon get their cooler in the window.. good thing it's supposed to get in the 90's on Fri- since being to hot is a trigger for Nicoli we don't want him to have an attack, it's been 4 months and we are hoping worst is over for him... we had water fans and cooling cloths for him in Az- Carrie and I both bought 4 of them each- I used them too and they work nicely as long as you can keep them wet... they are going to Ft Collins tomorrow to visit Jon's cousin .... we are working on our house and yard work, our cooler will go in the window too... hoping it will still work- it's 15 yrs old ...

Well off to my pillows- washed my bedding today so it will be nice and comfy.... have a good evening all...

Nana

Good morning.

I have been busy....I just finished the last of the staining and I am glad. Only two older windows to repaint around the frames.

One window absolutely needs to be replaced this Fall...as well as the roof shingles on my house and shed. Tina, I keep thinking that when I get to old I'll probably end up renting an apartment if this 'keep up'continues like it is.

Nana, I am sure it feels good to be home.

Junie, did you know that you can buy compression hose in different colors? That way it looks like tights.

Well I hadn't hear of Ted hose either... just compression hose.. had to wear them eons ago when I had my hysterectomy... for a couple weeks... just remember they were hot to wear, it was in Az and still over 100 every day... colors would be nice though- hope you don't have to wear them for to long but has to be better than the blood clots they prevent..

Hubby got cooler up and running . we had to put a new to on the table he made to hold it... and I covered it with contac paper .. helps keep it from rotting ... already cooling house down... was hot today. Joe mowed today too... he will spray weeds tomorrow morning before it gets hot- in a week they grew two feet tall... !

We are eating left overs tonit... was to hot to cook... tomorrow will be a crock pot meal for sure... hotter tomorrow... I have a couple game hens in freezer, will take them out tonit to thaw and put them in tomorrow morning...that and a big salad will be dinner..

Well I am off to finish vacumming the upstairs, was to hot earlier till cooler was in .... even with fans going !

Have a good evening all!
Nana

I had a day with my tummy. But I'm hoping the issue is over for awhile. Meanwhile, I didn't get much of anything done today. But tomorrow will be better, I hope.

I am back from taking my kid to school and shopping. I have put that away and will make some salads later. When it's hot I love to have salads ready to go in the fridge. I bought little cukes and grape tomatoes and some green onions for a salad. I have crab and roasted red peppers for a crab salad. I have a mess of stone fruits and red and green grapes for a fruit salad. That is enough for a couple of days.

A crab salad sounds yummy, Tina. I will have to look up a recipe when I get home.
Do you use real crab or that white fish that is sold in packages as already cut up crab ..
I
Either way would work, I would think, but I am just curious. why

I actually use imitation crab (surimi). I don't much care for real crab. It is too sweet for me like a dessert. Nor do I like the prices. I like lobster. But then again there are the prices...

Thanks
I do not care for the prices of crab or lobster either. I love snow crab though, but actually eating it is just a treat. Lobster is to sweet for me, and I do not care for king crab either. I do like the imitation though.

Good morning everyone. I need an aspirin. I have a headache.

Today it's supposed to be the hottest so I'll just take it easy and rest mostly.

Good morning.

I wasn't in yesterday...I wasn't feeling very well. So strange that you mention lobster, my mother had a lobster meal Thursday and I took sick on it...I'm still not feeling the best. I'll never eat it again.

BTW: Lobster must be the only thing cheaper here than there...it is $5 a pound at the moment.

Wow. Cheap Lobster.....I would probably go ahead & eat it if it were that price here.

Sorry it made you sick. Did anyone else get sick after eating it??

I hope that you are feeling better soon.

I'm trying to decide what's for dinner tonight. I think ham and cheese. Along with salad already made.

No, I'm the only one who got sick...and they were fresh and alive. My mother cooked them.

I think it just sat on my stomach and wouldn't digest.

I feel better now after eating toast and gingerale all day.

Good afternoon.

Happy Father's Day!

It is calling for 5 days of rain....it's going to be a long week.

I am jealous of your rain. But I'm sorry it is affecting you so negatively.
All done with the bedding. I would have skipped it today but Ted decided to spill something and part of it landed on his bed. I'm going to run his bath in awhile.
