This morning I had 2 male Woodpeckers on my deck railing sorta fighting over the hummingbird feeder. Finally one left & the remaining bird ate from my hummingbird feeders....but oh well.

Then he went to my empty wild bird seed feeders. Usually, I take those down in the spring and put up finch feeders and water feeders. I have not gotten that far yet.
Poor birds, they usually know where to come to get some food & water... rolz

We just replaced our bird feeder; the old one somehow got knocked off its hanging post and fell to the ground, cracking in half. Where it's kind of fun going and looking at new feeders, it's more fun when it's buying additional vs replacing, lol.

oh I agree.
I have THE cutest finch feeder. My CDD bought it for me for Christmas. it is a 2 story white sided feeder. The birds HATE it. I have no idea why but they will not use it.
so, I bought a cheap regular kind of finch feeder. As soon as I am well that is what will be going up. along with the waterer.

Yes they do. So, what I do is the hummingbird feeders are on my deck (so to speak) The other feeders are out in my flower bed, to avoid the mess.
(I did the finch feeders on the deck 1 year..it was as you say, a mess.)

PS: I have a large shepherd's hook attached to my deck railing and that is where I hang one of my hummingbird feeders.

Rod made me a bird feeder "holder" (name escapes me now) it holds 2 feeders, which is in the center of my large flower bed. Then I also have a smaller shepherd's hook in the same flower bed for my other hummingbird feeder.

Yep the birds will poop on the porch and leave a mess with dropped seeds. I have my feeders in the yard just for that reason.

Yep. The only feeder I have on or near my deck is 1 hummingbird feeder. Otherwise the deck & the rocks around it are a mess.
