GG and I put in our garden. We have potatoes, yellow and green beans, two types of runner beans, cukes, beets, two types of carrots, corn, pumpkin, tomatoes, peppers, onions, lettuce and for the first time ever watermelon.

So, have you "MET" Rodney ???
IF he weeded I imagine all would be gone but possibly my 2 lirope plants & possibly the hosta between them.
and the round up would likely get even them. (he loves round-up)

It hit 95 today, and at Noon I decided it'd be prudent to start yard work; so I grabbed my rakes and went to the back yard and spent two hours trimming trees so that the kids can use the play structure, and I raked down all of the dead grass and wheat that we sprayed last week so that I can put up the above ground pool this weekend whenever I find the tarp for it.

I'll need to measure the yard and everything before I can do more with the pool though, it's not the largest area so it'll need to be placed just right so we can get around the 15' above ground pool.

95...wow that is some hot weather to be working out in the yard in....
You are a good daddy to fix up a pool for the kids---and yes I understand that "Daddy" & even "grandma" will get in the pool too, but the kids will still get to enjoy it. YAY for you!!

This afternoon, while I napped, Rod sprayed round-up on the weeds in my rocked area. I usually pull them all out a time or 2 in the spring & then they stop growing where they should not grow--but oh well. at least now they will dry up & blow away.

We can't buy Roundup here...there is a ban on those weed killers.

I just use full strength vinegar and boiling water where needed.

We worked outside for almost 8 hrs today...you couldn't find a weed or a long piece of grass if you tried. Sad part is that in a few days it will look like nothing was touched lol

It will look like nothing was touched without being twice as long and strong.

After supper tonight, Rod helped me go outside to look at my flowers & my 2 tomato plants. I have an heirloom & a "celebrity" or some such. The heirloom has a small green tomato. party

BUT Lordy "the weeds"........
I was so sick to see the weeds but so happy to be looking at my stuff...Happy & Sad all at the same time.

This weeks goal is to get the above ground pool setup (14', could have sworn it was 15' but the box doesn't lie); this includes having to lay a tarp for protecting the bottom, I already have the area cleared that I did this weekend before picking up Bree from her moms.

I also need to move at least 10-30 walking stones that are currently on structured tier III to the pool tier (tier I), all of these steps to make the hilly back yard usable are going to kill me, lol.

Then I need to make the time to go to Home Depot and grab 4 of the little plats of flowering ground cover to go around the walking stones on the pool tier (better to have something I want than to let wheat and grass grow around the pool, lol).

Busy week, assuming my shoulders, back, and knees are up for it; lol. The 90+ temperatures of this week also will be playing a part in what all gets done, but PT is tomorrow and Aubree goes to her mom's until this weekend starting tonight (will probably go to Home Depoet on Friday for plants).

I didn't get nearly as much done today as I wanted to. I was off work, but we decided a few days ago we'd go see Brian's parents and do a little cook out. We were home by 6:30 this evening though, so plenty of time to get a little bit done. Well. Mother Nature had other ideas. It poured rain.. so I came in. Decided to do laundry, and the rain stopped. So I went back outside. I am in the midst of a LOT of potted shrubs and flowers... I think I went a little overboard buying this year. I have lots of bulbs I started in pots and my Michigan Bulb order that I also started out in pots.. (Past experience with their plants wasn't very good.. due to them being so small starting out.) Mostly perennials, but some annuals. I re did my old pond into a garden. And I'm still trying to figure out what all I want in it.

I am so indecisive. Poor Brian. He's ready to choke me some days. haha

I have one more day off, and am hoping the weather cooperates. I have an appt in town tomorrow at 1:40, but then I should be able to come home and get busy. Praying for low temps, low humidity and no rain. :)
