I just ordered one, and it's on it's way. It'll be my first banana. Any suggestions on special care for this type? Has anyone had good luck with full sun, dappled sun, or just bright light? I have Foliage-Pro 9-3-6 that someone on a message board said would be good for just about any houseplant. (This one will be strictly a houseplant, by the way). Can I expect it to do well indoors? Thanks in advance!

Not with little potted ones. I am really no help. I have grown full size bananas outside here in SoCal and gotten baby fruit. The drought has taken them.

It arrived day before yesterday. I am very happy with the way it looks after being the mail for 5 days! Fresh as a daisy, about 6 inches high. Cute as a bug. I'd post a pic, but haven't figured out how to on this forum yet.

You need to have a photo site like photobucket to post pics. I hope you have good luck with it.

Go to the thread "New members" then on to "Your Member Benefits" in that forum is a thread titled "Posting photos"

it will help you accomplish what you want to do.

you have to copy/paste the img line to move your photo to the forum.

I did everything, and it worked with the "drag and drop" method. However, I can't find the "img" in order to highlight and click on it to copy and paste!

If the photo is showing after you drag an drop
Double click on the photo, an on the right a box comes out with the IMG in the bottom of it
Click on that to copy .

I have never used the drag & drop option. so I guess do whatever Dodge suggests.

I just look for the photo I want--& below each are a few options. one is "IMG" I copy & past it to my open window here.

Yes click on img an it copies the photo.
And come on here an paste it .

I think that is left click .. If it doesn't work do right click.

I guess I'll just have to give up. I uploaded to Photobucket and it shows up there fine. But when I click on the image, no img ever shows up. I've tried many times. There aren't even any options below the photo. I've never had so much trouble just posting a pic on a forum!

if you are logged into Photobucket (you need to be logged in)--but, there is a free version, so no worries there....

below your pictures there will be a list of these options as follows:

E-mail & IM
Direct
HTML
IMG
IMG thumb

and after each option is a link area.
You need to find the photo you wish to copy, then look under it (in your bucket or album.) You will find the above mentioned list.
Chose IMG..copy the link under that term. then paste it in a post here...
I wish we were in the same room so I could help you.

I wish I could show you how it looks. I logged into PhotoBucket, and the pic was right there, but there is NOTHING underneath it--no list of options. Just the pic. Okay, found something to the right of the pic. I'll paste and see if it works or not!

congratulations !!! very nice plant !!!

but tell me, does it have little black spots on it, or is that dirt. IF it is dirt, you could clean it off with a very soft cloth dipped in some milk.

(my grandmother would take nearly empty glasses of milk after a meal & use that milk to wet her soft cloths when she would want to clean off her plants.)

again !! congratulations on using the photobucket site.

Yes, I believe the spots are part of the leaf.
That is one great looking plant.

Yes indeed, Tina. I rinsed the plant of dirt specks, and these spots remained. Thank you, Junie! I think it's pretty cute myself. Now.. if I can get the watering down just right so it doesn't rot, or get too dry.
