I was running out of rhymes.

I'll take any offers if someone wants to buy this cold/flu from me...I'll even pay you. lol Seriously though, it is time to visit the doctor. I surrender.

Good morning. I'm sorry you are still sick, Sunny. I hope you get well quickly.
I am ready for the first day of school. And some shopping. We are about out of bread. And a few other things.
I hope everyone has a lovely Monday.

Sunny, sorry you are still sick, but then glad that you are going to the Dr. I agree it sounds like it is time. I hope the Dr. helps you.

Good morning. It is 54*F already. I wish the weather would make up it's mind. One day cold, one day warm--we will all be sick like Sunny is. Gracious.

On the Easter front, my youngest DD is worried that her cousin has no place to go & asked me to invite her & her family here. That is fine, but then I should invite my sister & her son & his family--all told that is 8 more people. Oh well...I guess I should be impressed that my daughter thought to include her cousin.

Going to see my sister today anyway.

Good afternoon (for some of you). I stopped to shop on my way home. I picked up a few boneless/skinless chicken breasts for salad making. Those are in the crockpot cooking. I also picked up 4 lbs. of strawberries and those have soaked
in a vinegar bath. Then I hulled them all and sliced them up. In a bit I'll go cut some vegetables for the salad.

It felt good to get out for a bit. Can I take a nap now?

By all means after doing all of that you deserve a nap.

I know you have explained it before, but once again, tell me why & how you soak the strawberries in vinegar water???

I have Ted home and can really take a nap now.
I soak strawberries in vinegar water both to clean and to add to their lasting power. It stops the molding/mildewing a lot longer than just water. Vinegar also cleans better than just water and strawberries grow close to the ground.
I take 1 or 2 tablespoon of vinegar, apple cider or white, and put it in a large bowl and add water and fruit. Swish it around a little and let it sit about 5 minutes. Swish again and rinse.
I do all the fruit I buy this way and most of the vegetables. At the low amounts, you never taste the vinegar. Vinegar is anti viral, anti bacterial and anti fungal. I use it for lots of things.
I am going to grab that nap now.

Vinegar...now that makes sense, better than the tsp of bleach solution that most people use.

Yay, ceramics!
Good morning. No ceramics for me. I'll just gas up my van and go to Walmart today. Not exciting.
I so am glad you are on the mend, Sunny. But it is time for spring there. Enough snow.

Good morning......Happy April Fool's Day!

Today I have to take Grandbaby to school for a day trip. We are going to a maple sugary to watch the process of maple syrup being made and a pancake lunch. I haven't been to a sugary since I was a young girl, it will be a nice treat for me as well.

I hope you all have a good day.

Good morning. The field trip sounds like a blast. I hope you have a great time with your granddaughter, Sunny.
I was up early today. So I've set up my budget for the month and paid off all of my bills. It feels so good to have that out of the way. I am ready for April.

Truer words were never spoken. I agree with Dodge.

gee, Tina, wanna come set up MY budget??? I am sure I could use the help.

Sunny: OH I loved when the girls went on field trips. They were so interesting. Enjoy !!

Today is the last nice day for awhile, so they say. As a result I think I am going to run some errands today early then get home & start my housework that I need to do for the weekend.

I hope the weather holds out for you, Carol. Setting up my budget is easy. I don't owe anything to anyone. So my bills are the regular electric, phone and things. The bigger surprises like auto insurance or property taxes (this month) are known and I save towards them. My budget is keeping track of every penny I spend. I have moved to an all cash system.

Thanks Tina.

The only "Bills" we have are usual ones and then the car.
My problem is the property taxes. While the car & house insurances are bad...I can usually muddle thru them. It is the property taxes that will get me in the end.

She'll be fine, thanks...she was a happy kid when the doctor recommended Advil and a case of gingerale soda lol

We haven't been able to buy turkey parts here in years. Although turkey this week has gone down to $3 a pound. I am thinking of skipping the Easter meal this year with the way we have been spreading germs.

Turkey is on sale here for $1.49 a pound this week. clap

IF I were in your shoes, Sunny, I would not have people in for a Easter meal either. I would make something a little special (that did not cause you a lot of extra work) for your extra close family and call it good. No need to have to worry about MORE germs.

I would worry about spreading germs as well as any new ones floating around.
I have not looked of the price of turkey around here in forever.
I am here for the day. I got all of my homework done and things are in the mail. I'm gonna try a nap on for size.

@#*!@!# Da_n computer !!!

I had unstuffed cabbage rolls.

you brown 1 to 1-1/2 lb. ground beef & one diced onion until onion is translucent. Then add 1 clove of garlic, diced 7 stir for 1 minute. Now add 1 small head of cabbage, chopped, 2, 14 oz cans of diced tomatoes, and 1- 8 oz. can of tomato sauce. Plus 1/2 cup of water.
bring to a boil & then reduce head to a simmer , cover skillet & cook for 20 to 30 minutes, until cabbage is tender.

It was sorta soupy to my notion, but it was good. We just took out what we wanted to eat with a slotted spoon. worked well.

I'm back : I know what went wrong.

I looked & looked at unstuffed cabbage roll recipes just now.
I FINALLY found one that had 1 cup of rice added. THAT would be more like real cabbage rolls plus it would not be soupy either. Thing is it did not say regular or instant rice, but I guess since it cooks so long regular would be the way to go.

I have to wonder why all the other recipes did not have the rice in them. As a matter of fact with the exception of a few ingredients like cinnamon & vinegar, they were all just the same..& No added rice.

Well, I also wondered why the recipe said it fed like 6 to 8...as is, I do not think so.

Tomorrow I will heat the leftovers up, add some instant rice & let it set for 10 minutes. THEN I will comment on how I like the recipe. shewinks

I am going to bed soon myself.

I wonder who she learned it from? lol

Good morning, my girl is sicker and will miss her Easter party today, she is not impressed.

I have not made cabbage rolls in forever...your recipe sounds good. I as well read it and added the rice in my mind as Tina did. grin

Cindy: This______ computer taught me that bad word...and I t is making sure I never forget them either... cry

Public Service Announcement:

I "WAS" so happy. The Fisher Price Froggie potty chair I ordered online from Target came in today---it was early even..

Now, I could have bought one at a Target, and got it much cheaper, BUT in the stores, the potty part was white.

Luke's frog potty at home, has a orange potty, and as the one online had an orange potty I went ahead & spent the extra money.

WELL, when it came in today, the potty part is white.
I called the 800 number on the invoice & the girl was all about ordering a replacement potty chair.
All I have to do is either print out a return label & go the Post Office & return it, OR drive the 20 miles to the nearest Target to return it.
All this takes time & did I mention that the desktop computer is at my SIL's to be repaired....not that he is ever going to repair it...AND I have trouble getting the laptop to print for me?/ well it is & I do.

Thing is there is NO guarantee that I will get one with an orange potty part in it the second time, even if I DO return this one.

I could have, should have, ordered from e-bay..I know I could have counted on them.

Just beware..

I don't think I'll be ordering a potty seat any time soon. Maybe when I get a little older I'll need one. blush
I'm hopping along here this morning. Front porch cleaned up. Veggies cut up. Moving along.
