My youngest daughter wants to start a garden this year. She was asking me how to go about it & when I got done she said that perhaps just growing carrots this year was what she should do...
I told her it took me longer to tell her than to do it.

I love how things that go around come around. Who would have ever thought that my Emily would ever put in a garden. shewinks

while I was out today I bought some lettuce & carrot seed and some asparagus plants for her. I hope that she has the patience for the asparagus. When it is time, I will buy her a tomato plant or 2 and a cucumber plant.

She wants a raised bed...we shall see what happens.

If she wants healthy organics to feed her family, that is the way to go. Congratulations, Carol.

She wants to plant potatoes but in a column. I do so hope that goes well for her. I am thinking of telling her to just use a modified trash can. she would have to dump them all out at once, but hey, there are worse things.

Yes, Yes, I know----but I am the most surprised of them all. Happy, but surprised.

I sent Emily the information..BUT

They found out that she "thinks" that gardens are not allowed in their subdivision....
So, I am thinking container gardening is the way to go for her.

So, tonight I went to e-bay & bought her 4 gardening books, that should be here by her birthday (April 25th)

One on Gardening Secrets
One on vegetable gardening
& 2 on Container Gardening

these should help her out, and she will also get some money...
