I need the rest too. Luke went to bed on time, woke up from coughing and then decided he should stay up. egad I finally got him beck to sleep 2 hours later...We can only hope that he sleeps later in the morning. Grandma is tired.

And just an FYI: his new angle is shouting out: "grandma are you ok" ? when he hears a sound.... Now how is a person supposed to ignore that ?? why

I think I should go to sleep now. Nighty-night. snooz

Good morning.

Yup, grandkids keep you on your toes.

Whooping cough was going around here last year and everyone had to go for boosters...this year it is measles that has started.

I am so glad that today is the last day of February...our province has seen 15 ft of snow fall so far and we still have 2 months of snow left.

That is a lot of snow, Sunny. I hope the rest of the season gives you a break.
We are having rain now. Not enough but every drop is good.

Good Morning !.

well I finally did get some sleep. Luke could not breath well last night & had a runny nose, so he slept in spurts. He is now better.

That is a lot of snow, Sunny..and here I was complaining---I guess I should stop.

Well Luke is asking me to play with him...TTY all L

How long are you going to have Luke, Carol?
Cheesy chicken chowder is for dinner. It is good on this cold, rainy day.

Luke left here at a bit after 3:30 today. He spent 24 hours with me and will spend 24 hours with his other Grandma. I just hope that Emily & Chris can get home tomorrow evening. IMO this was a bad weekend to be driving from here to Chicago & back.

Leftovers were the order of the day here for supper. I am very tired. as soon as I can take Beowulf out to go potty, I will be going to sleep. TTYA tomorrow.

Yes, she is feeling better, last I heard.

Well we had from 6 to 7-1/2 inches of snow last night.
Rod is getting a cold, so between the 2 things we are staying home today.

So far I have made baked crullers.(about the size of Long Johns). My pan makes 6. Now that mess is cleaned up & I am waiting for bacon to thaw, so I can make lunch. My DH is a lucky lucky man. I baked AND I am cooking on a Sunday. He should NOT get used to this type of behavior from me. shewinks

Lordy, now he is telling me when I should unplug the charger form the laptop.. rolz I do not think retirement is going to go well. I have 4 more years to wait for that though.

Good afternoon all.

I was busy this a.m. then spent the day outside with grandgirl...it was a beautiful day, although I am getting too old for sledding my bones are telling me lol

Just pulled a batch of sugar cookies from the oven and must start supper.

You're going to town now, Carol. I do unplug my net book and run the battery down once in awhile. It is supposed to make the battery last longer.

see. I am constantly plugging, charging to 100% then unplugging it until the battery runs down again----I wondered if I could just leave it plugged in...

I have already thought that out, Sunny. IF & when he ever comments on it I am going to say, you were sick & I felt sorry for you. I have already made it a point to point out that I was not hungry, & that I was only cooking b/c he is sick.

But yes you are right....he hardly ever takes something nice I have done for him & actually sees it as such...he just takes it as his "due" & it then is something he expects in future....NOT TO WORRY. I have NO problems telling him he is sadly mistaken.

When John retired, he helped more around the house. He left me with most of the cooking and kitchen cleanup, but took over bringing in most of the firewood and heavier work. It worked for us. And when he fell ill, I slowly took over everything again, plus some. It got me ready to take it all on.

well I am glad it worked out well for you, Tina.

IMO Rod is all about control, really. Like just now. He drove me to the grocery store. he said do not take long. so when I came out, I had 4 bags of groceries. (4 things in each bag) he was mad. In his words, " I thought you were just going to get what you HAD to have...
Translation: he wanted me to be gone 5 minutes, and I should have 1 bag & in it should be everything I would need if caught in a snowstorm. It is times like this that I feel so sorry for his Mom...I know his dad was more controlling.

Oh, John would have liked to control my actions and thoughts. He often was angry about something or other. But he was silent about it most of the time. I learned to enjoy the silent treatment a lot.

Yea me too. after he said that to me, I just did not find a reason to talk to him the rest of the way home...I do not give in to him....My Mommy did not raise any dummies.

and yes I meant to type it that way. It is something we all said back in the town I grew up it. It was supposed to be funny.

Yes, I say that I was raised by a women's libber long before women's lib was coined. I won't be a doormat and I am glad you are not as well. Let someone know you are not pleased and let it go.
I spent the day clipping nails and trimming hair. We are ready for school tomorrow. But we may not go. If this second storms dumps on us I won't take him.

I do not know what I will be up to tomorrow. The roads are Sclear, but getting out of my driveway & out of the dead end road I live on is quite another matter. Lordy I miss my Blazer.

We have another storm coming in tomorrow night or so. A stormy day Tuesday & in the 50's & then more bad weather later in the week....Soon we will all be in the hospital with pneumonia or some such, I am sure.

Good morning.

I was raised the opposite, my mom was very controlling and demanding and my father was a very soft man. It got to the point that he took his own life...that left my mother lost. She spent all the money in no time and didn't know how to do anything for herself.

So I grew up realizing that I would never live that life.

I guess some follow what they see and others go the exact opposite direction. Maybe that's the reason why my DD is the exact opposite of me.

Good Morning ! I am so sorry for you, Sunny. But Dodge is right, you do live a good & wholesome life. Julie will get there eventually, at least I think so. She is just young yet, & sadly, yes, there is a lot to 'find' out there.

You are a good roll model for her and for your Granddaughter. That says a lot.

Wish I could get out of my driveway, so I could get my errands done...(roads are passable, as I think they cleaned the roads esp. well in preparation of the next round......"they" are forecasting another storm moving in.

I took advantage of the extra time off and got a few things done. Now I'm going to get my shower and then cook some simple mac n cheese for dinner.

yea, I could do that Dodge, but I am NOT a short order cook.

I already make soups & such & eat them at lunch b/c he is not a fan of soup. For now that is enough I guess.

I actually make more mac n cheese than I like. Ted has a narrow list of likes so it is mostly for him. I can put veggies in them and if is the only time he will eat them. I prefer not to have them so often.
