Don't feel bad... we are all a little off!

Well, I am really off. I made a banking error today but drove back like a bat out of hello and corrected it before I got a fee. Phew!

Those bank fees can be brutal!

Many years ago, back when we lived "on the farm", we had to have a new furnace installed. So, then, Fast forward to a month later when I am balancing the check book. I was doing it at night & found I was $3000.00 off

Sadly it was night, and well before the time of the internet. Needless to say I did not sleep well. At 9 am I was on the phone with the bank. As luck would have it, I DID have the money in the bank, and, the problem was that I had not deducted the cost of the new furnace.
Lord have Mercy !!
I never again balanced the check book unless the bank is opened.

Yes, well my problem is having three different bank cards for the same bank. Joint checking with Jonni and with Teddy and one of my own. I took out of the wrong account today. I fixed it before it became a problem. Or a bigger problem.
I also cleaned my bathrooms and things. I did not get dinner into the crock pot though. So we are eating whatever appeals to each tonight.

sorry for that. But it is good you caught it quickly.

I like the "everyone eats what appeals to them" idea.

I need to scrub my floors next---THAT will have to wait until Friday I think.

Good morning.

Bank fees are awful...DH and I were talking last night about changing banks. Mind you they are probably all the same.

DH made an emergency trip to Walmart to buy a new tv...I was surprised how good of a deal he got. I guess most people are buying Smart tv's so the normal kind are on clearance prices. All in all, it was still money taken out of savings once again.

The cold snap is continuing....we hear of frozen pipes and such every day.

Well, as for being productive, I had to be quiet so my kids could get their full measure of sleep. But getting some paperwork out of the way was good. And Teddy's valentines are all squared away and ready for the party on Friday. And lunch is packed. We are good to go.

Morning...

We woke up to snow this morning... not a whole lot and really wet so I is melting quickly... we need it and as long as it doesn't stay cold not to bad....

Got up early and made a double batch of pancakes ... we told the boys they could spend one night this weekend with us so thought I would get a head start on feeding them...been mostly eating out of my pantry and freezer, they need cleaning out and gets saves me some money at same time... think next payday will be filling freezer up again...


Well off to get the day started.. need to go buy printer ink so can print out my stuff for tax man... ran out of ink at wrong time...

My freezer is full. I decided to do something about. Today I am making pulled beef sandwiches. Also getting some cleaning done around here.

I put Cedar Hill up for sale today...
Guess I will go and crawl into my hollow log now....

Barb, I do not want to jinx it by saying, but Rod said he is taking me out to eat on Saturday, to a little craft town he likes to take me when he wants to be nice. Here is hoping the weather co-operates. I have my valentines addressed & ready to send out as I sit here now.

Going to spend the day with my sister...we have not done this in awhile...

I am off to school. I have no plans for myself for valentines day. Ted is going to give with his classmates and I took in paper plates and napkins before. I gave each of my adult kids a box of chocolates from me. Life is good.

Carol that sounds romantic. Least ways he is doing something in your favor.

Tina......that's cool of you .. Giving makes one feel warm an fuzzy inside.. I too sent my 2 grandgirls a card with some $ inside........I decorated one with dinasours an the other with lil princess.......Those are their favorites right now.. THe oldest knew the names of all the dinasours by time she was 4???????????
They loved the cards.

My son treats his wife somehow so I don't get in on that ..His job.. I gave them special candy for Christmas...........

They cancelled school because of the outage...grandgirl's Valentine party is held off until Monday now.

I give little gifts Dodge, DH sometimes gets me something.....depends on if the guys at work are doing it or not

The warnings for us is record breaking heat for Feb. I accept the challenge.

I haven't thought that far ahead yet. First I have to figure out what to do with 35 years worth of accumulated stuff and things...

Oh Bill I feel for you- having to go thru stuff to decide what to keep and what not.... will keep you in my thoughts ..moving is hard...

Today is Carrie's doc visit- has to have an xray first and maybe a cat scan again - nothing really has changed she is still in pain and has nausea if she eats much of anything... feel so bad and worried for her right now.. Joe is driving her to appt.. I will have boys...have to go there so Nicoli can continue his school lessons on computer there- for some reason my computers don't like the school connection much..

Dodge, we don't have any special Valentines Day plans. I sent cards to the grand children and my mother and I've got a card to give Johnny and that's it. We were out running errands last year on Valentines weekend and decided to stop in a restaurant to eat. Thank goodness it was early, around 5:00, because it shortly became packed. We hadn't even thought about it being Valentines Day weekend.

It's been sort of warm weather here lately and some of the flowers have tiny blooms or have broken ground. Not it's getting cold again. Hope this doesn't mess up my spring.

I hope spring doesn't get lost in winter for you also, Sheri.
Other than dinner, I am done for the day. Had a meeting set up with Ted's school and got that done. And I worked on my kitchen cabinets a little. It is funny because I wonder why. They have been scrubbed so much that the wood is worn away in spots. But worn wood is better than dirt.

And now I am going to bed. I have Teddy's valentines on the desk where I won't forget them. I think I am ready.

Tina, the weather has been the coldest that I can ever remember...we are supposed to get a major storm on Sunday, hopefully it will warm things up. People have run out of wood and wood pellets and it is near impossible to find.

Sheri, I have seen early blooms here before...the plants have a way of healing themselves and reblooming once again it seems.

Yes, I agree, 35 years of memories are difficult to go thru.
We got a 17 cubic foot dumpster & more than filled it. But I kept a lot too. Some things just cannot be parted with.
