So is Colt a bit of a handful ??? why

Yes Luke is spending the night. (Vacation)
However he did invite his Mom & Auntie Kelly (a friend of the family) along with him.
Every time we come over he gets his extra car seat out of the closet & wants to put it in our car, so tonight we did just that. His mom was using this as a trial run for when they actually want us to keep him for a night out.
His face was wary when his daddy was explaining to grandpa how the seat worked. (he was sitting in it then) But when he was asked about going on vacation he smiled. So I am thinking he just did not understand about the car seat explanations.

He was in awe of all the "trees" he saw on the way to vacation. And could not quite get why all the cars were going in the other direction. So grandpa said well some are going home some are going to work & some are taking their grandchildren to their house for vacation. Luke piped up & said "That's what we are doing"...LOL

The only thing wrong with Grandma's house is 1) His bed at home is a "good bed" and mine is not. and 2) his mom did not send both of his pillows with him. (luckily I had one just the same size as the one that Mom left at home)..mind you he does not sleep on the 2nd one. he just needs to "see" it.

Then we filled up his bed with several stuffed animals & turned on the sound machine.
You all know that I should be sleeping, right ??? lol

Good Luck Carol .... hopefully he will sleep well... we have been fairly lucky with the boys spending the night here... but they have done it since they were tiny so it's a second home for them... now they are so big we have airbeds for them... and my cedar chest is full of their blankets and pillows... and the airbeds...

I finished the blankets, washed and dried them ... will take pics in morning... sure glad it is done...
I am headed to my pillows now... will be a long day tomorrow... baby shower isn't till 5 pm which seems awfully late to me but wasn't me planning it...LOl!

Well pillow time... hope you get some sleep Carol.....

Good morning. Today I will go out and check a yard sale put on by a parent of a friend. I guess there is a bunch of stuff from her parents that she has stored for years. Sounds like a fun time to explore. Not that I need more junk.

Hi all...I am chuckling at Bestofour's post. They can be a handful. lol

I am so happy that Luke had a vacation, Grandgirl had many...I just never thought it would be permanent. She does keep me young though, got to be positive about the situation.

I hope you have fun Tina, you never know what you might find.

Have fun at the shower Nana, late parties are becoming a new thing here also. It's easier because it is more of a finger food thing instead of a meal to be served.

I woke at 4 and tried to go back to sleep. It didn't take. Ted and I did go to the yard sale. We did not find anything to buy. We drove by a couple others on the way to and from but didn't stop. It was a nice ride. Then I tried for an early nap. And that one did not take either. I'm going to be drooping early tonight. Laundry is going and some general clutter is being picked up and cleaned up.
I wonder how Luke's vacation is going.

Nana: I cannot wait for the pictures. I REALLY need to start back on mine.

Sunny: I think Grandchildren DO keep you young. Both she and your DD will be very appreciative of all that you and your DH are doing some day.

Tina: Oh, I love yard Sales. I am so sorry you did not find anything to buy. But it still sounded like a good day out.

Luke had a good vacation--he did not once ask for his mom or dad. he had a good time playing, he slept straight thru from 9 to 6:15 am and was excited to have pancakes for breakfast.

Speaking of tired, Tina. I went to bed about 11:30, I got up at 6:15 to "Grandma I am awake now" and I about fell asleep on the ride home from taking Luke back to his parents. Of course once I got home, I was not sleepy at all. It is going to be a LONG day.

Thanks Tina.

His mom said well then maybe you can keep him on a regular basis...I did not touch that with a 10 ft. pole. I will gladly keep him but I am not handing out standing orders. After all now that she is not working (well she has to go back to work for the next 2 weeks) I am watching Luke as many times a week as before, but she is in the house. why

So she has decided to be a SAHM? I hope you get to play with Luke and the baby and are not turning into the housekeeper for her. I don't think I could do that.

You poor girl that's too cold to be out in freezing rain.

Yes Tina, Emily will be staying at home. That is the good news.
bad news is I said I would come and sit with the kids say once a week so she could get out a bit, IF she did decide to stay home.
Well 1 day a week is turning into 2 and then 2 more days a week she has other people (paid sitters, as far as I know) watching Luke.
And that on top of me driving 20 miles one way thru relatively heavy traffic is a bit much.
BUT the good news is I can always have my DH take me and drop me of on his way to work. and if the weather is too too bad I will just stay home.

and no, I am not doing housework. I used to wash dishes but when she & the baby got sick, she told me to stop, as she is running them thru the dishwasher. She did ask me to vacuum once, but I just never got around to it. OH!! I do straighten the living room & the toy room before I go home now...

wavy barb...

Nope. I love my kids. But if they can afford to pay other sitters, they can afford to pay me. I would stick to one day a week and have some good kid time.

Good morning. I've been up about an hour or so. I knew it was supposed to get windy today and went out yesterday to batten the hatches. I still ended up picking some things up that blew this morning. You need a hard hat and goggles in my yard today. It is a colder wind tan our usual.
I hope everyone stays warm and comfy today.

we got a bit of snow last evening. The ground is not completely white. I wish I could stay indoors but then you know it's Sunday.

Good morning! Trying to watch the game but it keeps periodically cutting out. No cable, just an antenna. At least we can watch some things. Tonight is a big TV night in our little apartment. It's been very cold here, at least for us. In the 20's at night and mostly low 40's during the day. The daytime temps are too bad but the sub freezing temps are not for me. All I have to do today is laundry and a little bit of grocery shopping. I have a job interview for a more professional, higher paying job on Thursday. I'm not yet sure about it as the HR guy called me and didn't even pay attention to which position I had responded to. But, I'll give it chance.

Good Luck Cheryl.

Boy is it ever snowing here now. DH & I were considering what to do this afternoon. We finally decided that staying indoors was the best option.

Hi all...grandgirl is sick with an allergic reaction to penicillin so I have been busy. It was a long night at the hospital.

Hope all is well with everyone...off to catch up.
