Good morning. Thanks for the new CH Carol. It is all fresh and lovely in here.
I hope your cold is held at bay.
Congrats on your new baby in the family, Sunny. Babies are wonderful.
I am up early again. I will probably nap again.

You are welcome, Tina.

My cold is worse. I so wish I could take something for it.

Sunny, yes, congratulations on the new baby in the family. I am happy for you all.

Jonni woke with swollen glands the other day. I told her to take spoonful or two of colloidal silver. She woke the next day without the gland problem. Last year or so my older son had a nasty gum infection. He has had them regularly for a few years and has taken more antibiotics than I like to see. I told him to take colloidal silver and swish and swallow. He couldn't believe how fast it went away. He is using it on his dog bite wounds too. I have also been able to sneak some into Teddy because it has no flavor to speak of. I have given it to the dog and it appears to have perked up his appetite. It is our miracle drug in this house.
This is what I buy

Thanks for the information, Tina. I will file it away. But with my heart, I stay away from any type of anything unless my DR has OK'd it.

My sister called & we had a nice visit. I miss having time to go visit her on Thursdays.

Going to bed soon to rest this cold..nite-nite wavy

Hello everyone. Getting ready for my big move on Saturday. So much to do! As I was going through things deciding what should go to storage and what should come with me, I came across a notecard that Merme sent me years ago. Tears. Hope everyone has a good night!

Good luck with the move Cheryl. I wish there was a mess of us close by to make it lighter work.

A mess of us together might be trouble lol but we would have lots of fun.

We can't get colloidal silver here...some kind of 'Health advisory board' ruled against it but my grandmother used to use it back in the day.

It is so windy out there today and cool...hoping it dries up so I can tackle the lawn once again.

Good morning. Yes our grandparents used to rely on colloidal silver. It helps to eat from real silverware too. Just as you can get iron from cooking in cast iron. I do like the old ways a lot. I would miss a lot of my modern conveniences but I could live like a pioneer if need be.

I think of that often. I so wish we could just have a "get together" whenever we wanted to. Or like now with Cheryl, we could all go & help each other--ah to dream...

Emily was not happy that I came in to watch Luke today when I was sick. IT is a cold & I was sure I got it form him, so I was not worried. She thinks I am wrong. So, from now on, even if I feel iffy I guess I will call her to inform her..

Jeepers, you said Luke had the sniffles and you were worried you would catch it. Hope you are both feeling better soon.

Got all the yardwork finished yesterday...another day of pickling ahead. I have never seen a few cucumber plants supply such an abundance before.

I am feeling better, Tina--well unless the Tylenol is doing it's job. We shall see at 5:30. lol

Luke is all better & so is his Mom, who was sick too. I must look up the incubation period for colds. Emily says MY cold cannot be from Luke..I think she is mistaken.

But, Sunny--Luke is feeling much better. he did not even let me "rock a baby" yesterday at nap time. (kinda hurt my feelings)

I am glad you are better, Carol. Incubation is about 2 days before the symptoms start. But it is so easy to catch just touching something someplace, like a shopping cart or money. It is hard to tell where you actually came into contact unless you have been truly home bound. Then it is brought in by whomever has visited or family who go out and return. I just looked it up.

Yes.. incubation if 2 days and boy I carry wipes everywhere anymore.... does help... I wipe my purse down after every shopping trip too- carries in lots of nasty stuff you don't think about....

Hope you feel better and stay well for a while now Carol- our Timba came home early from school Fri cause he started with something... only a matter of time once school starts.... but he is feeling better now .. Carrie wiped whole house down she said... so hope it stops at him....

We bought our new smart tv today... now have to upgrade out dtv.. but it looks pretty good now already... but since we have 3 tvs that are smart now it will be nice.... Joe likes it for his sports stuff....

Well I better go make some dinner - forgot to take anything out so will be chicken cause I haven't pkgd that for the freezer yet... mashed taters and a salad will be the rest.... will oven fry it ..

Have a good evening all... hope your move went okay Cheryl... and hope you get to stay there for awhile...

Nana

2 days huh ?? well then I got this from Rod, not from Luke, SO, Emily was right to be upset that I came to watch Luke. BUT I thought she had no one else to watch him and that I had gotten it from Luke---MY bad ladies, thanks for the information. I thought it took a week to actually get a virus from someone. BUT Apparently "Daddy" has like 3 or 4 months of combined sick/comp/& vacations days accumulated. THAT is sure good to know as well.

I went to bed at 9pm last night & slept until after 7am..but I feel better tonight.

I will stay up awhile yet.

I hope you wake much better tomorrow, Carol. When John retired he had a whole year of various leave saved up. It added a year to the calculations of his retirement benefits. So that is not a bad thing.

I am glad for Him. That worked out well for all of you then.

I do feel better, and my Tylenol has worn off too. BUT we will see how it goes tomorrow morning when the cough syrup has wore off. Sad news is I took the last of mine this afternoon..

G'nite everyone sweet dreams wavy

Good morning. Take care of yourself, Carol. I hope Marie doesn't catch cold from this.
Ted and I will go out today. There are a few things I need from the store. And a trip to the ATM at the bank. Time to set up the budget for next month.

Thanks Tina. About the MIL...I do not worry about such things. Rod makes the rules on this. If he says we go we go.

Today she was in a fit--Yet from when she left the dining room & turned left instead of right--& was going outdoors. The workers thought she knowingly went the wrong way & now she is upset with them & most of the time will not go to eat her meals. She "says" she is not hungry, but they bring her a meal & she eats it. So today she was going on about this again, we finally left. She then tells her roommate--well they could stay longer.... rolz Rod cannot stand to see her like this.

Yes, it is stories like this that remind us that we are all capable of failing as we get older and frailer. Not only do we feel for our loved ones, we worry for ourselves, too. Someday.....
I laid low today. I did go out to shop today and to the banks to move funds where they need to be. I napped pretty hard this afternoon. I have no plans for the rest of my day. It is cooling off but that is all relative. It only reach 95* today.

Yes, some really cute kids. I enjoy hearing about them & their antics.

I just finished Skyping with Valarie & Henry. I was texting with her & she thought to talk to us.

Rod & I are going down to see them next weekend. YAY !!

Rod will make supper out on the grill, but today nothing special.

Good morning. It sounds like a day of rest for you, Carol. How is your cold?
My older kids are not at my house today. That means I seem to have more energy and want to get things done. No one is sleeping so noises I make will not be bothering anyone. If I want to get things done, it must be in the mornings because later in the day my energy fades away.

My cold is much better, thanks for asking, Tina. If it were not for the incessant coughing when I am lying down, I would be one very happy camper.

Well, on one hand I am sorry that all of your kids are not there with you today, but then I guess you get a day of rest as well. Well, after you get some things done this morning that is.

I gave up trying to get some things accomplished. Rod keeps asking me to go fetch things for him. It would have been nice to get something more done today, but I guess a complete day if rest sounds good to me :)

flwr Happy Labor Day, Everyone !!! flwr

Yes, most of my kids were here yesterday. So we visited, ate and had a good day in general. Today has been just getting cleaned up and organized and ready for a long haul of school days. The next day off is Veteran's day in Nov.

Glad that you got to see your kids yesterday. That is always a good time IMO.

I hated the school schedule even as a Mother. I always felt sorry for the girls when summer vacation was over...

Oh, I do enjoy the few hours of the day that I have to get things done while Ted is at school. I just get tired of the 5 day a week thing of driving 60 miles a day sometimes.
I am about ready to pop Teddy into the bath. I do enjoy these getting ready days.

yes I understand that. When I was taking the kids to high school, it was 16 miles one way so 4 trips a day and 2 more sets if there was a game they wants to attend. rolz

I did enjoy the morning trip though as I could go to Wal-mart or the grocery while no one much was there.

Yes, it is 14 point something miles to Ted's school. I do get reimbursed for my trips both ways so that makes it nice. I stop to shop on my way home or back to pick up in the afternoon.
Sweet dreams all. I am heading towards my pillows.

Good morning all, had a 'too busy' weekend here and I am glad that it is over.

School starts once again. Grandgirl starts pre-school in a few days, I am going to hate the Winter driving...thankfully it is only two hours a day, 3 times a week.

Our cooler weather is starting up, sad part is that in a month's time there will be flurries in the air.

Well, that is a sad thought, Sunny. There are still 20 days of summer on the calendar. We have had our hottest days in Septembers past. But it looks like it will be fairly mild this year.
Congrats to Grandgirl! Is she looking forward to it? Drive safely.
Good morning. We are ready for the school week.

I'm hoping Carol got to ceramics today.
Today felt like a Monday all day. I had to keep reminding myself that it was not. That and the fact is is the beginning of the month made for a busy day.

Good morning....raining here.

Yes Tina, grandgirl is really excited to attend. I found out that it is 4 days a week now instead of 3. Oh well, if the roads are bad we will just stay home.

Have fun with Luke, Junie.

I got to meet and hold the new baby in the family yesterday...nothing feels as good as holding a little one in your arms. grin
