Welp, People..NO Tea Party for me today. We DID go to the Tea Room, but we just ate lunch & had dessert.
The waitress did put the girls dessert in smaller type very pretty tea cups though. I think I was more impressed than they were....

That still sounds cute. I am not sure exactly what a tea party would consist of besides food and dessert and tea.

Well when my youngest DD was about 8 my cousin had a tea room & she had "tea parties" for young girls. They had floor length ball gowns to pick from & wear at the party, & heels, etc. Then as you say they were all fed lunch & dessert....
At this tea room now, they would have been offered tea in very small tea cups, & special sandwiches & desserts. There is no playing dress up at all.

But as they had their Dessert in small tea cups it was still fun for them I think.

I get it. You were expecting more like your cousin's affair. But you described a tea room much like I think of them; ladies (mostly) and food. Usually some very good dessert options. The parties are brought by the customers.
I am a coffee and mug kind of person.

Yes I think so Tina. I too like my coffee in a nice BIG mug...But I like to go out & socialize some too. I just hate the cost of it all... why

And yes the parties are brought in by the customers....But "B" got to pick the table we sat at and that seemed to please her--

I just finished making/baking some "Dilly Crackers" for my Oldest in case she comes over tomorrow. In the morning I will make my youngest some pecan bars- Hand-wash dishes are done as well. Second set of the day... rolz

Headed to bed soon..... winky

Good morning. We have a cold snap through today. I think it is only to be in the upper 80's. I need to plan what to do with the lovely weather.

We are having a cooler day today also...I'll spend mine cutting the grass and weed wacking.

I took grandgirl to a tea party on Saturday...it was put on by the bank at the local village. They had to dress like princess's or fairies. They had coloring pages and games then they had iced tea and cake for dessert. They hold it once a year.

Hoping you all have a great day ahead.

Sounds like yoiu ladies are having the weather we had last week. I will say it was certainly MY idea of July.

Your granddaughter's Tea perty sounds lovley, Sunny. I am sure she had a good time.

I am getting to see my grandson's today. And I will even get to keep the oldest one for a small while.

Right now I am off to make my Daughter's "Dessert of the month"

I too wish everyone a great day.

A princess tea party sounds like fun for the little ones, Sunny.
I got Ted to school and stopped to shop for some Christmas gifts (booze). Got that home and hidden. I have vanilla beans soaking in some for making extract. I think I will do lemon extract as well.
Ted's school packet was finally ready so I am filling out all of the paperwork today to return it. I really dislike that because nothing has changed from last year, Nor the last all-of-his-school-life other than parent employment. They have improved the forms though.

Tina, you would think that what with computers & al now they would have you sign a simple form that stated "my information has not changed" I am so sorry to hear this.

The girls went to their Grandmother's today. Then I went back with Valarie tonight. AND good news, Valarie & Henry are spending the night. YAY for Grandpa & Me !! party

Going to bed soon---g'nite to you all.

Glad the grandbabies are visiting Junie...enjoy. That dessert of the month was a great idea.

Tina, I'd write 'same as last year' on the forms and sign it lol

I got all my yardwork completed yesterday...trying to get things in order for grandgirl's 4th birthday party here on Saturday.

Oh, that sounds fun, Sunny. Is there a theme for the party?
Good morning. I need to turn my lights on earlier. That means the days are getting shorter. Beginning to feel the fall crunch to get ready for winter already.

And today my Sister said she thought it felt like October (the dreary rainy weather). I just DO NOT want winter to come.

And hopefully I will get to sleep early tonight---G'nite.

Good morning. Ted and I went to bed early last night. I didn't even get to come in and say good night. We were tired.
But I am up early, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep dry, Carol. Some areas around here are still digging out from some flooding rains last week. It was all good here.

The rain did little towards our drought. If I didn't already know that, the news made it clear to everyone here. It did settle some dust and that is always good. And cooled us off some.
Ted is at school and I think I got what we need for the weekend. I'll stop to gas up on the way to pick up Ted later. We ill be ready for next week.

Hi...good afternoon.

Yes Tina, we are having a princess themed party, "Sofia" to be exact.

It is raining today and is supposed to rain tomorrow as well, thankfully we only have a small party planned. My house is tiny.

I had to go look up Sofia. I hadn't a clue. I am not in this world when it comes to the younger set. Although it looks like something Teddy would enjoy. Well, he prefers things with a good fight somewhere in there, ie. Scar and Simba, etc.
We are home for the weekend. It is too warm to move much so I guess a nap is in order.

My Great Niece will have a birthday party tomorrow as well..She will be 6.
From what I hear this will be a "Rock & Roll" birthday party..This will be the 2nd or 3rd one she has had. I think my niece has a "Rock Star" wanna be on her hands.

I was up in the night also. And slept again this morning. I do not like to mess up my sleeping patterns. It leaves me lacking in enthusiasm for much of anything. I plan on sleeping well tonight. I would not nap this afternoon in anticipation.

WE went to the Birthday party, & Rod & I kept up with Luke so that Emily & Chris could have a break. zoink It was a real work-out. I slept for 2 hours when I got home, and Now I am on my way to sleep anyway.

Tomorrow, Rod's nephew & his family are stopping by on their way home (to ohio) to see "Grandma". We will get to visit with them some ourselves...

This is good as now "Jonathan" can tell his dad first hand about Marie's condition.....I do not think he has a true handle on her actual condition. he has not seen her since early May.

Sweet Dreams, Tina....

Good morning. The party is over and it looks like a hurricane hit my house...Grandgirl had fun though. She was so excited that she only fell asleep at 1 a.m. this morning.

I am up cooking for a baby shower this morning...this disaster area will have to wait until tomorrow to be cleaned. Yikes.

Good morning. I am glad the party was such a success, Sunny. Have fun at the baby shower.
I am cooking today too. I want a couple of ready to go meals for this coming week. And a bit of laundry plus getting ready for the school week. That will be most of my day.

That sounds great about the party, Sunny. So glad your Grandbaby had a good time. This is the stuff memories are made of. teach

Cooking on Sunday, Tina ?? While that is noice of yoiu, I do not do it unless there is to be a family party or other occasion on that day. Then sure I will do that. But then I cam see that you mdo not have to cook next week that time. So that is great.

Today my husbands nephew & his family are stopping by to visit. I really think that his daddy asked him to stop by to see his grandmother so as to report back to him about her condition. Since he cannot be bothered to come by & see her, I think he thinks we are exagerating her condition. He will soon learn. In the mean time we will get to visit with the part of the family that is coming by. Valarie could not come down for the birthday party, so she will not be here to see them, but Emily & her family will come by later today. This sure has been a full weekend.

I need to go to do my grocery shopping here in a moment, see you guys later wavy

Cooking on a Sunday is a given. And basically, I am cooking for mostly myself. It is not much different than you having a pot of soup on the stove or in the crockpot. Mostly for yourself. I like to cook ahead to relieve some of the weekday pressure. Any time I can find meats at a decent price, I like to stock up. And I also cook most of my own dog food. Babying my old dog along.
I have chicken thighs ready to go on the grill when I get out there. I have slow cooked shredded beef and potato salad and a mac salad in containers in the fridge. And I have lean burger in the crockpot right now. Meals will be very simple this week.
I don't go out to eat much. I love knowing what is in my food.

I am also putting together my son's lunches. I send a lunch with him to school every day. I purchase small containers and fill them with peanut butter or other seed and nut butters and send them with graham crackers or small fun crackers in sandwich bags. I have to use disposables with him because he won't bring back reusable containers. Along with bananas, applesauce and fruit juices and milk, that go into his lunchbox every day. I am just glad he brings his lunchbox home.
I have gotten together a couple of weeks worth today. It makes mornings so much easier.
I enjoy doing this. I just wish he had a larger selection that he would eat.

Sounds very organized to me.
Truth be told I would cook like you if it were just me we were talking about. Rod was raised with a dad that would not allow crock pot or casserole meals. He liked his fried meat & potatoes--Plus (IMO) he did not like his wife's time being freed up by such as casseroles & crock pot meals.

and as a result, Rod really prefers his meals NOT prepared in a crock pot, although he does enjoy a good casserole and will eat left-overs, so I am better off than my MIL was.

Still waiting on company.....

Does Rod insist you eat what he eats? Could you have your soup while he chows down his preferred meal?
I would broil steaks for John and Jonni (or chicken or something) and eat my potato crockpot casserole. John decided he kind of liked that too. I love my crocks because the pan part can be lifted off of the base and go right into the fridge for food storage. I can pull the pan part out and put it back onto the base or onto the stove top to reheat my food. I have 3 of those.
My older daughter is gone now. I need a stretch before I begin the next phase of my day.
