We are fine, nothing fell, nothing broke.
I am glad Sunny is good too.
Did you get one rock? Or is that multiple?

blush Sorry, I thought I had said---I wanted some bagged loose rocks, of the type that I have in my rocked area in the back.(Alabama Sunset)...
Since I do not have the Blazer, I cannot get it myself any longer, so when Rod & I were out today, we got it in the truck. I got 6 bags--about 3.1 cu ft in each bag--(whatever that means)

You did say but, reading I could not tell if you just wanted one rock as a focal point or multiple rocks for something.
That means 3.1 something of heavy.

Well I am sorry anyway--I will try to be more clear in the future. bow and yes Heavy for sure.

OK I am officially an IDIOT
Each bag is NOT 3 cu feet worth. I will say that each bag is 15 inches wide and 22 inches long---the bag says that each bag will cover 3 sq feet of area when the rock is 2 inches deep. And that is about how deep I will put it.

As I said earlier, I bought 6 bags.... as I have to move 9,- 1 ft sq pavers and then fill in the space they occupied with rock. Then with what is left over, I will fill in sparce areas in my "rock garden/patio area".

You are most of the time very clear. I use rocks as borders and things. I have one larger volcanic rock as a focal point. All of my pathways are dirt with a few paved with pavers, brick sized. Gravel-type stone would not work well here because we are mostly sloped hillside. Even the flatter places would eventually wash down the hill.

I use rocks/bricks ase borders/edgings as well..but in this one area I use loose rocks--they are much larger than say pea gravel. The loose rock that I use is called Alabama Sunset. I then used the red pavers for walking areas.

below is an old photo of the area I am speaking of--the dog pens to the left are gone and that is the area that will have to be adjusted. In the end it will be a paved 'picnic' area. A place where the little ones can play if nothing else. It reaches out to the north end of the house/attached garage. The open door goes into the garage.

...........the stacks of pavers are now in their new home by the shed, which is in the back yard........

That is a lovely yard. And the rock is very pretty.
Sweet dreams.
I had wondered because I can barely lug 2 cu, ft, of potting soil and that is lighter than rock.

Thank you for your kind words. shewinks The rocks are really multicolored, even if it does not look like it. The bricks I use a border are 5 a set of 5 different colors. I alternated them in sequence. I wish I had more--

yea, I have no idea where I came up with that weight. The bags have always been that size. why I put the rocked are in about the spring of 2005. I wish I could afford a landscaper. The whole area needs redone & new landscaping paper put down. Oh well.

Off to church & then Emily, Chris & Luke are coming by today. Out of the blue she calls. But no matter the reason, I will get to spend the day with them. thumbup

Well laundry is almost done- blankets are cut and one is basted for machine sewing- slow going with my hand hurting...
I can only use it for a while and then rest it... may have to go see a doc about it if it doesn't stop... thought it was just I smacked it on something - but it just isn't getting much better... oh well.. do have another roseaca treatment on Tues.. not really looking fwd to it but will be last one...

In between my doing stuff today I have been watching musicals on TMC... been singing all the songs .. just finished The Music Man-- love that movie....

Well off to fold and get the sewing machine out from under all the stuff that gets piled on it... may get one blanket done at least...

OH yes I got daisys, salvia ,petunias and lobelia,,, impatiens,,, filled my pots and Joe set them out front for me.. petunias in purples and the rest in red, white, blue and a touch of yellow...

Well, I moved. Moved my stuff yesterday and got my new bed put together today. That bed was an adventure. Glad it's done. So far I really like my new roommate, landlords are a little strange though. But, it should work out ok. Miss everyone here.

Good morning.
Cheryl, I am so glad you were able to find a room. But that doesn't mean you need to stop looking for a better situation. Or other options.
I am up and ready for my day. I will be going out at some point and picking up a few things.

Good Morning.

Yes Cheryl, I too ma glad that you found a place. But like Tina, I will say that it does not hurt to keep your eyes open for a better situation.

I have a few phone calls to make & a few errands to run today.

Morning all,

In for a minute , Joe is still sleeping, going to start breakfast soon- so smell of coffee and bacon may wake him up....
will have boys when they call and say they are ready- Carrie works early today...

I did finish one blanket yesterday and basted one side of other.. will get the second side done today and maybe the 3rd one and get the machine stuff done on them and he can have his comfort blankies again... I had to use a magnifier to be able to thread my machine yesterday- couldn't focus on it very well... hate this getting old stuff...

I am getting excited we get to redo our upstairs bath soon.. new tub, cabinet and sink... toilet too .. get rid of old wallpaper and retile .. and a new med cabinet and lights... new floor too.. can't wait to start picking out stuff... will redo floor in downstairs bath too after upstairs is done... not much else we can do to that one... except repaint it.. that will get done too..

Well Joe is stirring - so better get breakfast started.

Have a good day all!

Nana

Hi all, I am back...Hurricane Arthur decided to visit. We had now power since Saturday afternoon. My property was spared heavy damage, just minor branches breaking and such.

There are neighbors with trees through houses and busted windows. I lost a lot of groceries and meats but better than replacing a roof. Off to catch up.

Well gang, we had a thunderstorm go thru the areas this afternoon. We got 1-3/10 inchs of rain in a very short time. And Rod & I lost a big limb from one of our largest trees. (trunk is only about 6 or 7 inches in girth).

More to go thru during the night. BUT I do not think I should complain, as Arthur has given many of us, Sunny included, a much worse time.

G'nite--& sleep tight everyone.

Good morning. It is going to be hot. But not humid, so I'll take it.
Sunny, my oldest daughter is 42 this month. Her health issues follow along the lines of rheumatoid arthritis and/or lupus. She is not diagnosed. Autoimmune stuff is so difficult to pin down. When she gets a cold or something, it does a job on her. She does not spread it around.

Good Morning.

Sunny: I hope non of us have to deal with storms today. I hate to have to do any traveling in them.

Tina: OH MY---so sorry to hear this about your DD. I hope she is able to get some relief sooner rather than later. If you must have the heat, to not have the humididty is a wonderful thing. You are a good Momma.

Nana: Yes, we would enjoy a few photos. Also I wonder how you go about doing these blankets

I am going to take my mom to the dsrs today. I think I have already mentioned that though.
