As some of you may have noticed, the forums got a little bit of a change today.

I've been working on trying to make the entire site, not just the forums, look "better" for mobile devices; but the old header just wouldn't degrade properly for smaller devices (such as cellphones).

Today we've made a step towards an attempt at being a mobile friendly site (and a lot of trial and error has gone into it).

I also added a new theme to the forum that I'll be playing with for some time to try to have a good default theme that matches the header itself (check it out in your profile, it's named "A Gardeners Forum"); let me know what you think about the new theme, it's based off of one of my more popular themes that I sell for the forum software.

A lot of updates need to occur on the new theme though, but they're generally related to fonts and font sizes versus colors; though I'm not sure how comfortable I am with the grey gradient on it.

I just went & checked out A_Gardeners_Forum in My stylesheets, & I must say I like the green but I agree, (IMO) the grey is not enjoyable at all...I wonder why it is not blue as the header is

And James, I like the colors & the butterfly.

It gets really active with the blue lol... I think it's just the shade of grey, I'll tinker with a lighter one when I get a little more time; I tried the green of the rest of the site but it seems a little too active as well.

The theme is based off of my Serene theme set that I sell for the forum company, but that's more of a darker blue (well, Serene is the grey as the highlight, but the stock version of it is a blue/silver).

Thanks, I was going for a relaxing "laying down in the grass, relaxing, watching as the world passes you by" feel...

There where a couple of other little images in the image package I'm licensing, may work those into separate header images and cycle through them each time the site loads or something in the future.

Glad to hear it; there is a web browser option called "viewport" and a web browser language called JavaScript; JavaScript checks how big your devices screen resolution is and tells the viewport to change how things are loaded; it works really well. If it's shrunk at all (to fit smaller devices) the search box at the top disappears as a part of the mobile theme (currently the only real difference).

Ok, I think I'm comfortable with the "A Gardeners Forum" theme for the time being; anyone who's checked it out, what do you think?

Yeah, the forum theme; you can select it in "My Preferences" under the "My Stuff" menu.

Tina, the new format fits perfectly on my netbook. I used to have to scroll side to side at times with the older format.

It fits well on mine too. But I never had the scroll problem before. But it is pretty and soothing in here. I'll take it.

Yeah, that'd be one issue I'm trying to conquer, especially for smart phones lol.
