Afternoon all,

Got laundry going- house opened up - it rained like crazy for a few min and then settled down to nice soaking rain ... sure is grey and gloomy out there though- have to put lights on in house to see...

We are in the process of taking my bed apart to move it- it's a king size water bed with a reg mattress in it.. and a 5 ft headboard ... 12 drawers and a storage space under it.. sure found a lot more stuff to donate in there... Joe has it almost apart just waiting for Jon to come over to help do the headboard and moving part- it's way to heavy for me to do with him... took and hour to clear the room of all the stuff- and will take at least that long to put it all back- probably longer cause I will lemon oil it before I put the stuff back... and run all my stuffed animals thru the dryer to dust them-- have to finish the bedding first though- it's almost all done- will practically have a new room when I am done- did the curtains yesterday and refoiled the windows- I cannot sleep if there is light in room and have to keep it dark .. have foil- and blackout curtains ... and mini blinds....

Well off to change the load- gotta keep that laundry going to get it all done today...

Good morning all...I have been spring cleaning as well Nana. It seems you can always find something to donate.

Thunderstorms for today so it'll be an inside day. I wish we had less flies, between the black flies and the mosquito's it looks like I have chicken pox. lol

How's the search going for a place to live Cheryl?

Tina, my grandmother was the same...there are so many grands(5 generations at the time)...she couldn't even keep up anymore.

Good morning. It is going to be hot today then cool back off to more normal June temps. Not looking forward to true summer yet. But we may have an El Nino winter ahead and that could be a very good thing.

Good Morning all,

Slept in some this morning so got a late start... boys are sleeping in too so they will call when they want to come here.. Joe washed the Tahoe this morning, and after I finally get myself moving I am going thru the office for more stuff to donate... have about 20 vases on the top shelf... who needs that many vases? I will keep the special ones and donate the rest... and go thru my books too... and the many cookbooks I have collected - don't really use them so they will go too- I use the net for receipes now anyway... already have a box of paperbacks to give to library or donate... wish I could convince Joe to get rid of the many VCR tapes we have but he won't budge on those... mostly Disney movies the boys never watch anymore...

Well this isn't getting me closer to getting in the shower so guess I better start moving and get it done...

OH yes don't know if this really works or not but Sunny I read if you hang plastic bags full of water in the sun it will drive away flies.. messes up there eyes and they go away... might be worth trying ....

Not sure if the sun flashing through water bugs the bugs but it sure does bother me. I get headaches. But it might be worthwhile if the flies are really attacking.

Sweet dreams all. I can finally go to bed. We reached triple digits today and I saved much moving around until after it began to cool down in the evening. So I am ready for bed finally. It is to cool down for the rest of the week.

Well guess I will shut the doors and turn on the night light.......

don't know why I am still up.. have to take some more motrin and get some sleep... my back decided I wasn't doing much of anything today- major hurt but will be better soon... so will get done later what I intended to do today...

We go tomorrow to our financial guy and finish up the retirement stuff... yay! We had boys today , they were so good, helped me fold the car towels and helped Joe pull weeds in the yard , with all the rain they are coming out easy right now.. so nice to get them gone...

Well I am heading to my pillow.. 7 will come early... !

I'm about to go to bed too. Just got home from work. I'm beat. Only had one day of this week. Room hunting is going ok. I found one I like but I'm not the only one interested so I don't know if I'll get it or not. Found another I like but it would lengthen my commute and I'm reluctant to do that. If I get the one I really like I'll be closer to both jobs.

Good morning....Tina shared her heat with us yesterday. It was the highest temps here in all of Canada yesterday.

I do hope you get the room you want Cheryl...it is a start.

Nana, I'd have to hang bags of water from me for that to work. It is unbelievable the amount of mosquitoes and black flies that we have. It seems to be getting worse. There was so much water for them to breed in, the weather assessment place said we had over 20 ft of snow this year...and it melted fast.

Grandgirl and I planted my veggie garden...she was so excited.

Good Morning !! DH was home yesterday for an eye appt. We also got his mom's new frames for her glasses & took her teeth in to be repaired.
I messed up supper b/c I left the potatoes in the oven while the fish cooked a bit more...I have been cooking for this man for 35+ years, you would think I wouyld know how to cook properly...LOL egad

Sunday we saw a male & female bunny pair making a nest in my Violets in the front flower bed. Did not see them yesterday but finally Rod did see the one chasing another away & across the road--so I guess They are still here.

Sorry for the bad insect situation, Sunny.

Tina good luck with the sprinklers.

Cheryl I wish you luck on the room. Closer would be good. Are there others in the same location that might come up for rent soon if this one falls thru ??

Nana, I hope you are feeling better today...

Well Junie, at least you are running for yourself this time. Good luck on the appointment. What kind of annuals did you plant??

Today is another 'outside day'...lots of mulch to spread.

Well I planted 2 Ornamantal Sweet potato vines ( Margarita), 2 Calibrachoa (one purple & one yellow), 2 varigated trailing vinca vines, and I have 2 Dracaena spikes in the center...There is room left. I am going looking today

In 2 of the pots I will put on the steps in the front are 1) a Tuberous Begonia & 2) a pink New Guinea impatient.

In my flower bed in the back I planted a purple Angelonia & a Orange African daisy. (yes I know the AD (aka Osteospermum) is technically a perennial but not so much in my zone.)

Today after my appt I want to start taking care of my veggie garden. My asperagus & herbs need weeded out & the herbs trimmed back some. Then I "really" need to get my regularly sized tomato plants into the ground. Thankfully I have had my cherry tomato plants in pots for several weeks.

Good Morning,

Been up for awhile , reading in bed... got my newest book of the Outlander series , went to bed early last night and slept well... was so tired for some reason... could not stay awake...

Joe is still sleeping... he put cooler in last evening after we got back from grocery shopping... it works ..Yay! it's 14 yrs old so keep expecting to have to replace it... will have boys sometime today- though Joseph is home today so they may stay home with him--- kids just told us they are going camping in July and Joseph wants to go with them so we will have the 3 dogs come stay with us- the big one, Tia gets terrified in storms so can't be left on her own... the two little ones are ok .. Carrie will have to deshed Tia.. she is one big shedding machine- Joe would go crazy with his allergies if she didn't- Breck sheds but not to much and Frankie has hair so he isn't allergic to him... 4 days won't be to bad.... and they like it outside most of time anyway... we have plenty of shade for them...

I have some food prepping to do today, ground turkey to turn into meatloaves and burgers, a big bag of peppers to slice and dice up and sauté so I can freeze them in bags to add to stuff later on.. that will be my project of the day I think... kids are coming for bbq on Sun for Father's day...going to make a batch of tater salad and a fruit salad for that on Sat.. Joe will cook brats and burgers so will be a fun day... hopefully will be nice too and not to hot yet...

Have a good day all...

Nana

Nana, sounds like you have a lovely Father's Day planned...hope the weather stays nice.

Grandgirl and I were outside but the flies have chased us in...I look like I have chicken pox lol

It is deer fly season here also. Not fun being outdoors.
I made a chicken and bacon salad to feed us for a couple of days. I will be cutting up all of the fruit in the house later to make a fruit salad too. I so love salads. Especially in summer.

Sunny, Tina, sorry for the flies--I am not having that problem, thankfully.

Sunny, 8 bags of mulch is a lot of work in my book, good for you !! I hope the little one is OK.

well my drs visit...I was apparently worked up, & I made derogatory remarks about my lab work, said I knew it was going to be bad----The Dr would have let it go & been happy with the results, BUT no---I have to complain & so now he has marked it and IF it is not lower next time I am in deep do do...
yep say hi to "not so bright" Carol.

I am off to bed soon--nite nite.
