You are never forgotten Cindy...but you are missed kissie

We are supposed to get storms tomorrow as well, stay safe everyone.

Rain for the afternoon...guess I'll go for groceries. They say God made rainy days so gardeners can get their chores done lol

Good Morning ,

Was up early too, have fan in window and then sun comes in as soon as it's up... makes for early days...we ran around yesterday and got the Sam's stuff done.. then had boys for a while too.. Nicoli had a doc apt - he is officially 30 + days with no attacks... though yesterday he got really hot at their house and started to feel bad... we think heat may be a trigger- so Jon and Joe put their cooler in and hopefully soon enough to keep him from triggering an episode, Carrie found them all cooling scarves to help cool their bodies down so hoping that helped him too...

Cindy we would never for get you, do miss you here but I do see your posts on FB and get my Cindy fix that way... Carol we all get busy.... especially this time of year... so much to get done and never enough time to do it. So stay safe with the weather , we have flooding here again but not as bad as last year... more rain to come later in week though.

Well off to the races... will have boys today- if they wake up.. sleeping issues happening again with Derek.. he took a nap here for 4 hours yesterday so may sleep late today... so they call us when they are all awake , that way we can do stuff but just be a phone call away.

Have a good day all and stay safe !

Nana

Cindy--Cindy--Cindy..You will never be forgotten and always missed. I too go to FB to see you...But hey, I too really enjoy seeing you here. TGH is my home away from home. I really like to come here & "see my friends".

Tina--glad that you feel rested anyway after getting up in the middle of the night.

Nana--I hope that Nicoli keeps his good run going. You guys are good grandparents.

Sunny--I hope your predicted storms are not harsh. Grocery shopping---It never ends does it ???

I will be staying home today & doing some housework. Just waiting at home for the next round.

Keep safe you folks in the path of storms.
I got Ted to school. I found a decent sale on burger while shopping on the way home. So I'll pack that up into small meatloaves for the summer to cook on the grill. And make a burger or two as well. And I have packaged up potato wedges to cook in packets on the grill also. Any time I find meat on sale, I grab it. It is not getting any cheaper any time soon.

I am glad you had a nice day Cheryl, a pedicure is a nice treat kissie

I see everyone had busy days yesterday. I had errands to do and groceries...the rain got me caught up a bit. Storms for today so it will be another spring cleaning day. Time to tackle the cupboards and closets.

Good Morning,

Woke up to sun and nice outside, guess parts of the state had storms last night... missed us - we did get some rain last night- enough to water the yard... one less time we have to water... Yay!

Heading to dermatologist again today... having laser treatment on my face to see if I can get rid of this rosacea , it's not to bad right now but it will get worse if I don't do something about it- so having it done now... wear that sunscreen....

Well gotta get my shower and get ready to go... hope she was right when she said I would be able to do my usual stuff after.... got stuff to get done today....

Have a good day everyone!

Yes good luck Nana.
I had trouble with rosacea too. I used to use a gel. was it metro-gel ?? cant remember. as long as I used it it worked great--the moment I stopped the rosacea was back.
Luckliy I have not had a breakout in years.

Afternoon ,

Back from doc for a while now- treatment wasn't bad but don't believe them when they say it doesn't hurt- imagine being hit in the face with a snapped rubberband over and over... not extremely painful but not fun either... sure hope it zaps the redness out of my face - one more treatment in a month and will be done- I tried the gel stuff but it didn't do anything for it... right now I am really pink and swollen.. wouldn't go out in public yet for sure... maybe tomorrow when I can wear makeup again...LOL!

Joe mowed the yard again and just finished in time for it to start raining - nice steady rain...loving the not having to water... and it's only 76* today too... so really comfortable.. sure hope we don't get the bad t storms they say it could turn into...

Well off to make a snack and go clean up my kitchen some... at least I don't feel bad...

Nana

Sending some rain vibes to you Tina....it is a full out down pour here. A lot of gardeners are going to be disappointed for planting too early.

I am glad your treatment is almost over Nana...you'd think they use numbing cream first.

Another day of spring cleaning here...it is taking me a lot longer having a 3 yr old underfoot digging into everything as I try. lol

Have fun shopping, Carol. And good luck on your test results.
I am moving this quote here because it is best in this thread.

I am very unhappy with the ingredients on labels in the stores. I am not too happy with the price increases of food available in stores either.
I have collected cookware and alternative cooking appliances as well.
I cook for one elderly neighbor on occasion. There were more but they have moved away and such.
I spend part of my time studying in general. Keeping my mind active even when my body is not.
I have adult friends with the same interests that I see once or twice a week.
After a social week and a busy weekend we like to spend our Sundays resting and getting a good night's sleep ready for the week ahead. For us that means clean bodies in clean beds all ready to wake fresh and new for the next week. I am always grateful for such a day.
I love the time I spend with my son. He is a joy! So the 150 miles I drive him to school and back each week are spent with him and we like that time together. The other 150 miles he is not in the van with me (to home and back to school) is when I stop for errands for the most part. It works out for us pretty well.
And I am very happy with it all.

Hi all,
We are getting thunder and rain right now....may have boys later on , probably with it storming , they are not fond of storms..

We went our running around this morning- got new cooler pads, hopefully won't need it for a while but if we do want to be ready for it... so dark outside now looks like 8 at night...

Woke up to swollen eyes this morning- tried to sleep sitting up but that just doesn't work - I am a side sleeper and end up like that no matter what... the red is my face is going away some so guess it is working too... I am hoping only one more treatment will be needed..

Well off to do some cleaning up... and figure out something for dinner... need to get more organized about meals....

Nana

HI wavy

I got home a few hours ago. Suince I am here I guess the test went well. I go se my family Dr next week, so we can hope that he has the results by then. prayers Although I have my doubts.

Tomorrow Rod is taking me back to Springfield to New Salem Park (Abraham Lincoln's child hood home) asnd then suppoedly there is a "Lincoln Garden" somehere close as well. IT all sounds good to me but he says "they" are calling for (severe) storms tomorrow . I am hoping that they will be WAY wrong.

If he is not I Guess we may stay home.. why

Yes, Greys live long lives...60-70 years old.

Good morning...the sun is shining and today I will work on my garden shed.

Tina, I am not an 'out and about' person either. I think it is great how you are taking such a strong interest in your food choices.

Hoping you get to have your birthday day today Carol. kissie

It is good to hear that the treatment is working Nana.

Cindy, do parrots get harder to look after as they age or easier?

Dodge, stay out of those flower shops shewinks

Have I mentioned lately how grateful I am to have a washer and dryer? I did many years of mostly hand washing clothes and hanging them out on the line. A lot of diapers in those days as well as baby blankets and such. It was not easy to take a baby along to a laundry mat. And they cost money I did not always have to spare.
So every time I spend time washing in my machines, I am reminded to say thank you to the powers that be.
I have what I need in case it is ever back to hand washing though.

I used cloth diapers when Rachel was a baby...everyone made fun of me because they were all using Pampers. Whatever. Soon as she used the bathroom it was changed, unlike their kids who peed in a diaper 5 or 6 times. And, I washed them (and clothes) many times in the bathtub by hand with a washboard. Washer and dryer..and so many things like that, I will never take for granted.

I don't know...I hope not. Lola is still a youngun...I just hope she stays healthy, since the closest avian vet to me is over 100 miles.

I have a mop bucket with a wringer for smaller loads if I need it. I have 2 bath tubs and a fairly large wash tub if those are needed. When my oldest was born disposable diapers were out but still were using pins to attach them. I liked cloth diapers.
Sweet dreams all.

I used cloth diapers on my daughter too...with the pins. I agree Cindy, they were better on baby's bottoms because of the immediate change. Luckily for me we had a washer.

I did do lots of hand washing for a lady that I worked for many years ago...makes you not take things for granted, that's for sure. I still have MIL's wash board in the barn.

Hoping you all have a wonderful day today.

Good morning. Been up awhile, just got busy.
I have no major plans for today. It will be our usual Sunday. With food. I'm thinking a chicken salad. I cooked up a lot of chicken yesterday. I just need to toss it all together today. It is going to be hot, nearing triple digits.

Good Morning,

Slept in late today... worked on my drawers and closets yesterday- have 3 boxes and 3 bags of stuff for ARK so far- will have more when I get to office and basement... even got hubby to clean out his drawers and closets... that was a major triumph... he hates to get rid of stuff...

Well I may be having another great grandchild in a few months.. my grandsons girlfriend is pg- they had broken up and then told him she was expecting...so now they are talking about co-parenting.. he is going to the Army is Sept so this will be interesting .. my daughter is not to happy about it-but told her the baby is our family and we have to do what we have to do to keep the baby in the family- so guess I will be making a new blanket soon- my nephew and his girlfriend are also expecting in Aug.. a boy for them so will be making one for them soon too- they are moving here in July... family is really growing ...

Well off to get started on my day- see what else I can get rid of ....

Nana

Your family is growing by leaps and bounds, Nana.
When I was pregnant with my first son so were some others of my cousins. I asked my grandmother how many great grandchildren she had now and she said she doesn't tell anyone any more. It was too embarrassing. It is funny. Of her 4 daughters there were 15 grandchildren. Then we all began reproducing. Healthy stock grows.

Good morning. Finally, a day off. Worked six days this week for a total of 65 hours. Glad to be resting. I will try to run today. If I can remember how, it's been a while.

Keep safe, Cheryl. Too hot to run here. If you haven't run for awhile, are there extra stretches to do to prepare?
