Well, it's been no surprise that I've been working on the front portion of the site lately; and for the most part it's about done... That is, short of entering content onto it.

I got to thinking, since it's your contributions on the forum that'll make it into some sections of the site (questions asked, plant identifications, recipe's, etc) that I should ask if anyone has any nominations on what they'd feel would be popular, special, or that they'd just like to see there.

The main portion of the site is designed to pull more users in from search engines, so the more I can squeeze in to it the more traffic we'll eventually see on the forums.

I am not sure what you are talking about exactly, James.
My interests lately are in food plants, heirlooms. And edible perennials. Non GMO and food in general.

Well it's two fold really, the sections on the site need content, and the content is coming from the forums; I'm slowly going through the forums looking for posts to add to the site (such as users asking questions and receiving input from the users); and I'm curious what you're all interested in.

The "front portion" is the portal page? Or forum list? Or a whole new page that you are creating?

Ah, I see. That is coming along really well.
Where I am spending my time on the net lately is following my nose. Herbs and their non-seasoning uses, for instance. Someone here recently complained about dandelions taking over their lawn. It sent me off looking for things to do with dandelions.
Health benefits of foraged plants. What to use them for. How to prepare them. How to make your own.... (just about anything) in order to lose the nasty commercial chemicals.

Gremlin

Why not make let us put our own photos in the posting page here.
So difficult.?

Why do we need to upload to photobucket to post photos in our messages?

Some members (one in particular) where unable to load images that where uploaded here; no rhyme nor reason could be found as to WHY they where unable to see images uploaded (I'm a web developer, if I can't find a reason for why something is behaving in a particular way for a user (and JUST that user) it's likely their computer; but no one likes to be told to check their security software).

I suppose that I could add the ability for you to upload attachments to posts, but the forum software will not resize photos that're too large unlike Photobucket; so if your pictures ended up being over 256k in size (which is quite common now since a standard digital camera now adays can take a 16 megapixel photo) you'd have to end up using Photobucket or resizing it.

The "Our Member Galleries" section is active, and has been for some time, but no one really utilizes it.

I've enabled file attachments for every forum here; it'll allow you to upload files as large as 256k and 5 per posting. Hopefully users won't be experiencing the aforementioned issue.
