There are several reasons that your leaves of your tomato plants can turn yellow. How much are you watering the plant? It's possible that you're under or over watering, they are lacking sunlight, possibly there is a nitrogen deficiency in the soil; possibly it could just be because you have a large plant that could be blocking light from lower leaves.

Do you have any photos of the plant in question available?

Have you had them indoors as seedlings or are they turning yellow in the garden? I left my seedlings outside and it was raining for 2 days, the leaves really got yellow. They got too much water. Leaves can pale if they don't have enough nutrition in the soil or if they don't have enough sun. If they don't get enough water, they usually droop first, before they dry up? How are your temperatures? Too much water, not enough drainage and cold soil can also cause yellowing as can plant pests? Do you have any holes in your plant leaves? Mites or plant bugs and pests can cause yellowing of the leaves as well.

Did your harden them off before planting time, if they were sown indoors?
