my red hot pokers bloomed(at least one of them)
for the first time. i started them from seed last year.
the bloom has a lot of little flies crawling on it.
is this normal?



geuss the nectar is sweet and attracting them.

I have some red hot pokers .Not blooming yet.. Planted last year also.
YOurs look goodd.

Mine attract hummers and ants. And earwigs too. I'm not sure how to possibly get rid of the bugs without doing damage to the hummers so I pretty much leave them alone.
Good job from seed.

earwigs? thats kinda scary. but i only know of em from some horror show.
