The iris's are gone. We had to have our septic tank worked on and the man ran right over them and then backed over them then spun his tires it's awful. He had told Johnny that he "may" catch the corner of them but there isn't anything left standing and the way he spread the dirt I can't even see anything green. Did I mention it's awful?

I don't suppose you can complain to them so they at very least buy you new rhizomes. After all he said he would likly just get the corner of them--clearly he misjudged his ability.

I have another sad story. Most of the blackberries were destroyed by the yahoos who "tried" to take down a large, diseased oak tree. This tree company is on Angie's list and we are filing a claim with their insurance company. They made the biggest mess and tried to hide it by taking a tractor and pushing the tree wood into the woods scraping up the blackberries a long the way. We called another company and it cost us $2,000.00 to fix the mess they made I think the blackberries will come back but they're gone for this year.

OMG !!! Your Blackberries....I so wish I still had Blackberry bushes. I was just looking at all of your photos from earlier this season & was so envious of your berry bushes. I think I would contact Angies List & tell them of this---I am certain that they do not want that type of person on their list of recommened businesses.

![[Linked Image]](https://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL145/2152270/24516842/409759462.jpg) this is borage that's growing with the tomatoes. It's supposed to make tomatoes taste sweeter but I don't believe it. I just think it's a pretty plant.

Let us know what you think of using the borage by tomatoes to improve the flavor. I have tried that with basil and I did not notice the difference either. I have also heard that about Borage but I have not ever tried it...as I say, let us know if it does work......

I love the color of borage blooms. I always wish they had a bigger bloom or a larger cluster to show off.

does anyone know what this one is ![[Linked Image]](https://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL145/2152270/24516842/409728521.jpg) the flowers don't smell but the foliage sort of smells like basil. Even in the hottest sun the leaves don't wilt.

It looks a lot like zinnia, Sheri. The leaves of zinnias can take all types of heat. I have not seen that kind of flower form though. Going to check.

I don't think it's a zinnia. At least I can't find a zinnia that looks like it.

It was the leaf structure that brought zinnias to my mind. I googled "zinnia with wimpy cactus petals images" and found a couple that were close to Sheri's.

I would have never thought Zinnia's come in so many forms. Here the only ones we see resemble mini sunflowers...very cool though.

Yup, black eyed susans are the last flowers to bloom here, they'll bloom until frost. When we see them pop then we know that the temps are changing.

Tonight someone told me that it's going to be 35 Saturday morning. I'm going to try and figure out a why to save the gardenia. I don't think I'm going to heat the pretend greenhouse this winter so I've got to come up with a plan.
