How tall is the gardenia ? I know here, I covered up tulips one year with 5 gallon buckets. Many people cover their delicate plants with sheets or blankets also. Just remember to remove the covers as soon as you think it is safe to do so.

It's in a big pot that I can cover with a sheet. I just don't know if I want to do that off and on all winter.

Johnny covered it with a tarp and said he'd uncover it before he left for work. We'll see how long this lasts.

I bought one in a jar a while back. It was purple. I'm going to keep the bulb and plant it outside. It smelled delicious.

Simply beautiful, Sheri....Strange but beautiful.....what will they do when spring actually comes I wonder??? I just went out & checked the bed where my crocus are. They have about 5 inches of dead dry leaves covering them, but when I got to the ground, nope not popping up here early. So, again, good for you!!!!

The spirea has bloomed 3 or 4 times already this winter and the forsythia at least twice. Not sure what spring will bring.

Junie, this is the correct time of year for the crocus to bloom around here. It's a little early for the daffodils but they haven't opened their buds yet.

I have a container of parsley that's been outside this whole time and looks great. It's up against a wooden post but the pansys close to it look pitiful. Go figure.
