My best friend asked if I would nurse his plant back to health, as it wasn't looking good and he recently moved to a place lacking light. This plant w as from his father's funeral six years ago. I repotted it with fresh soil roughly 3 weeks ago. He was severely overwatering tothe point the soil was sloppy mud when I dug into it. But the leaves appeared strong and green, and the roots looked in good condition.

Today as I was checking on it, noticed the leaves were yellowing and then find all four of the leave shoots have broken off, appear to be rotted and wet. It gets regular sun, and soil is moist but not overly wet. I'm now officially freaking out, as I'd be devastated if somethingchappens to this plant.

I don't know if I can upload a pic to share with this post, is that possible?

Any idea, thoughts, suggestions would be tremendously appreciated!!!! Thank you kindly in advance!!!

Geek1399,

What kind of plant is it? It may still be upset from being overwatered or it may be suffering from transplant shock.
