So not a tree expert. But that is lovely. My apricot tree looked just like it before it leafed out.

It could also be an aristocrat pear--but I am leaning towards some type of a cherry tree---(I am by no means an expert either)--but I do not think pear trees are shaped that way, while cherry trees can be.

Please keep an eye on it & see what developes...

I don't think it produces fruit so it's probably some type of cherry tree.

a number of pear trees do not produce fruit--at "the farm" my DH had an aristocrat pear tree--it is jsut an ornimental tree--it bears no fruit.

BUT no matter what, it is beautiful.

It reminds me of my old cherry tree that we had cut down last year... but from a distance a lot can look similar :P

Very trur james--that is why it is such a shame that we cannot see it in person.

There is a weeping cherry tree some people around here have in their yard---golly it must be 50 yrs old---and while it is a stately tree, if you saw it, you would never guess that is what it was.
BUT see, I stopped my car went & knocked on the door of said house & asked them what kind it was (see, I was told by a friend of theirs that they knew they had planted it back in "the day".

There are so many beautiful blooming trees. Some with edible fruit, some without. It is hard to ID from a picture, even as lovely as it is. A leaf or two, some bark and I could scrounge through my books and could still be wrong.
