A very spiffy new CH Tina, thanks.

I have a funeral to go to today. My Mother's Brother passed away on Sunday.
Thank for the well wishes, Tina. I too wish everyone a great day... wavy

Sorry about your uncle Junie.

I am sluggish and sort of have a headache today. I know exactly why too. I wanted chocolate yesterday so I made cup cakes and ate a lot of the batter before I baked them. Too much sugar now I'm paying for it.

It is butt freezing cold here today. My hands are like ice.

Good second morning. I did end up going back to bed. I have a lovely rainy day today. I'm thinking it is time to gather up towels to launder. And maybe some various blankets that are used and strewn around the house, used by kids and pets.

Good morning. Carol, sorry to hear about your uncle. Sheri, hope your headache doesn't last. I'm too early for my interview so I'm just sitting in my car until it's time to go in. You never know how traffic is going to be so I gave myself extra time to get here. I hope I get this job because I think I'll like working here.

I hope you are enjoying your evening at church, Carol.
I am about done with my day. It is colder than I am used to lately. And all I want to do is curl up under a blanket and zone out.

Good morning. We got about an inch of rain total, yesterday. As achy as that leaves me, it is welcome to do that once a week all spring, summer and fall.
I hope everyone has a lovely day.

My sort of headache never did become a real headache. I know it was from eating that chocolate cake batter. I stuck those cupcakes in the frig and have never even frosted them. I just wanted the batter.

Cheryl applied for a job at Whole Foods? Hope she gets it.

Juniegirl, we go to church every Wednesday night. It's fun....most of the time.

Tina, have you had more rain this year than last?

Nope. Less, I think. It feels like less at least. I haven't seen any real totals for our current rain season other than it is not enough.
Sheri, is your headache from actually eating the batter or from stressing over how bad it is for you?
I try very hard to stick to my idea of a healthy diet. But when I fail and sneak in those things that don't fit in my nutrition puzzle, I refuse to feel guilty. I figure my body is asking for something special that is lacking. I kind of follow my cravings a bit.

Went out and got a haircut too.. it is now shoulder length.. and more layers.. looks a lot better now...

I am going to Carrie's in an hour .. will bring boys back here if I can.. got a bunch of food I need to put away.. we filled freezer yesterday .. now I have a bunch of meat to separate into meal size pkgs and seal up..some to cook first ... thinking of buying dehydrator ... anyone got a recommendation..?

Well off to get ready to go get boys and get my day started.... have a good day all!

Nana

Congratulations, Nana and Joe! I hope it all goes smoothly for you.
I bought an Excalber 9 tray dehydrator last year, Nana. I do wish I had gotten the one a step up from mine with a timer on it though. There are other good brands out there with other options as well. On mine you cannot add trays. I also have two others that were much less money that did the job too. John bought them at Harbor Freight.

Good Morning,

It's nice here today... was supposed to get rain last night but didn't happen... I do have green grass in my front yard though.. and the crocus are up and blooming.. tulips are up and green leaves.. no flowers yet.. always a surprise when I get actual flowers from them...

Thanks Tina for the info on dehydrators.. checked out a few on Amazon... want to be able to dry fruit and stuff for kids... never thought to check out Harbor Freight for one.. may go this weekend ..

Carrie and Jon went to buy paint for their house last night- they are painting boys room and making the school room for the homeschool .. she is going to get him to paint the whole house eventually this summer...that is on our list too,, house needs repainting on inside... and I want Joe to paint front door a cranberry red to match our shutters... have to keep him busy...

Well off to get started on laundry and rest of meat prep.. have some ground turkey to turn into meatloaves and spaghetti sauce..

Nana

Good morning. Got the dishes done and a dog sitting dog came for the day. That's about all I've done so far today. I'm working the late shift today instead of my normal 10-6. Traded with a co-worker. Picked up an extra shift tomorrow too.

That was a very good site... it really helps, I see a trip to Harbor Freight in my future... not a bad price either...

That is a very basic dehydrator. But a good way to figure out if you want to continue on and do more with a higher priced one. It is enough to do quite a bit of fun things. And dehydrated foods keep more of their vitamins than do frozen or canned. My kids are enjoying squash chips and kale chips. And if your kids don't, you can powder them and hide them in pasta sauces or meat loaves or even in dips for fresh veggies.

I like Harbor Freight although I haven't been in a while. Maybe I'll go tomorrow and see what's new.

Excited for your retirement Nana. Is Carrie going to teach the children or are you?

Thanks Sheri,

We are excited too.. it will be nice to be able to take a few trips and see the country a little.. so many things get put off when you have to go to work and have limited time off...

Carrie will do most of the teaching., I will take over when she has to be at work but she is going to do it in the evenings mostly and the daytime when she works the late days...I will help her keep the records of how many hours a day and help keep the supplies organized... we will work together on ways to help Derek understand stuff.. with his disabilities that will be the biggest challenge for us...

It is very nice to have no job limits on your time, Nana. I saw a t-shirt the other day that said, "Help! My husband retired with no hobbies!" I thought of you.

I need that shirt! LOL!! I will just have to keep coming up with stuff for him to do.. he wants to redo the rock part of our yard... over the years they have sunk into the dirt.. so he wants to shovel them up and wash them and put down new landscape material.. and then put them back.. that should cover a lot of this summer... we have a lot of rock...

If we can manage it we want to have the upstairs bath redone too- put in a new tub and vanity- replace the medicine cabinet and light and take down the horrible wallpaper- and paint the walls- replace the fan with a fan that heats too.. and replace the floor and toilet too.. will hire some of it done- but do the walls ourselves... it's not a big bathroom .. and we need to redo our deck too... it's rotting - they didn't make it of the right kind of wood so we will have to do that soon too...

I have a pretty long honey do list for him to keep him busy.....

Hope Carol is okay- just taking more time with little Luke...

Nana

Well he did sorta "tie me up". I ended up bringing Luke home with me for the entire day & evening. When he left I was exhausted. As I have said in the past, he does not stop and he had me picking him up so he could see out the windows & he constantly thought that it would be good to see "Grandma's Truck" and to go for a ride in it. (of course we did not take another ride)

Then yesterday I went to the Drs. with my sister...She is ok she just had a check-up. And then of course we had lunch out & went shopping. When I got home I was not feeling right & finally realized that I am coming down with Luke's cold. rolz Oh well--it happens I guess.

Congratulations on Joe's retirement. I hope it suits the 2 of you well. And I am glad that Carrie is finally getting the boy's school issues in hand. She is lucky that you are there to help her. You are a good Momma.

I am off to see the dehydrator that Tina linked for you to check out.. shewinks

Good morning. SoCal had a good quake as I was getting ready for bed last night. I stayed up a couple extra hours to check out the info on it. There are still things that I have to do here to better protect my loved ones and that was a good wake up call to get busy.
I am sorry that Luke shared with you, Carol. I hope you recover from it quickly.

Oh Carol ,

Hope your cold goes away fast... it's no fun to be sick... I love that dehydrator too,, am going to go check it out today.. think it would be just the thing for banana and apple chips for boys...

Tina I love that shirt... am going to order one for myself...LOL! and wear it the day he retires and when he bugs me after--...hmmmm may have to get 2 or 3... LOL! You guys seem to be having more earthquakes lately... I agree with the being prepared ...

We are to have 2 beautiful days this weekend so we are going to take advantage today and go for a walk or something... been thinking about getting a dog now too- been checking out our local shelter... a small terrier of some sort we could take when we travel easily or could go to Carries to be dogsat... would help us exercise more if we had a dog to walk I think...

Well off to finish up my floors and take out something for dinner... got to pkg up the turkey and freeze it too,,, Joe is off but went to go talk to one of his co workers whose brother died,, she is going to retire too and was on vaca when it happened so he hasn't gotten to see her since...

Have a good day all!

Nana
