I'm not too sure about that number now. I need coffee.
Good morning all.

I need coffee too Tina...But, you did good.

I had lots of running to do today--but it is so cold that I think I am staying in. I figure I can always sew, right ??/

The soonest I could get Johnny an appointment with an endocrinologist was for Thursday so he just took himself to his primary doctor without calling, walked in and said "you've got to see me" and handed the desk person the lab results. She took him straight back, in front of those waiting, and he now has prescriptions. It will take a while for the meds to work but at least he won't be getting worse. Hallelujah.

Hi all,

Yes I am sleeping on a slant , supposed to keep my eye from swelling... works when I can keep from sliding down flat.. today was a good day.. not swelled up at all just the beautiful yellow green bruises...

It is a beautiful 17 degrees right now... and really feels it.. we have had snow coming down all day- just a little this morning ... but more now that it's dark.. the weatherguy just said it will last all night... lucky us! I did find out the cold makes my face hurt more so had to wear a scarf over my face when we went out today... sure will be glad when this is over....

Sheri glad Johnny went to his doc and got meds... it shouldn't be so hard to get in to see a specialist... especially when you get a diagnosis like that... I had to wait 2 months to see my dermatologist .. and now I have an apt made for April... for my first checkup and follow up.

Well I am off to get another load of laundry going- this waiting till I can have Joe sort stuff for me is a pain- good thing I can bend again soon... as soon as bruises go away... hopefully a week or so... need to do stuff!

Nana

I am glad you aren't swelling so much, Nana. I do hope your recovery continues to go smoothly. And also, keep safe in the bad weather.

Nana, don't be tempted to bend and do that laundry yourself. It's a hard thing to do I know.

Tina, hopefully it won't be as bad as predicted weather wise and then it's supposed to be ok Wednesday.

Getting the cold is one thing, but we can hope that you do not get the snow, Sheri. Noone needs that.\
\
Nana, nice to hear from yoiu. Please do not over do---and for my part, do not do as much as they say you can. I know that from my surgeries. I was told I could go back to doing in 6 weeks, waited 10 weeks & still woukld up in trouble. Trust me that cleaning will be there nexty week, next month or 6 weeks from now---Please take care of you first, then you can "do" for everyone else.

Going to bed soon...nite-nite

You're exactly right Juniegirl. The dirty house isn't going away. Sad to say the dirt, mess, and dust will wait on you. I don't understand why Johnny can't see the mess. He will step over a trash can and say he doesn't see it. He'll do whatever I ask but unless I specifically say "take out the trash" he says he doesn't notice it's full.

Going to the gym this morning.

Good morning. Still watching the weather for all of you. Today I will get Ted to school and stop for the few items that I forgot yesterday. Then do some more cleanup around here. A house is usually at its messiest when it is being cleaned. I pulled stuff out of everywhere to get to deep corners. And to sort and toss, etc. It is time to move it all back into its home until next year or something.

Yes the mass waits, unfortunately. Last Friday I cleaned out this roomn in preparation for the crib--well now I have all kinds of stuff in my other spare room (I call it Valarie's room) that needs to be gone thru...I reaLLY NEED TO GET TO IT. but NOT TODAY---i AM ACTUALLY GOING TO CERAMICS.. WE none of us have been since December 17th. First it was the Holidays & then the weather... But I do need to get to it.

Sheri, Mine will do what I ask too--IF I ask & then I have to tell him how & such--THAT is such a pain I usually just do the stuff myself.

I wish you all a good day....

Well guess I am really lucky- Joe just does what needs to be done- just not my way so that's my problem mostly...when we got married all those yrs ago - he didn't know how to do anything related to house work... 5 sisters and the boys only did outside stuff and maybe take out the trash... 6 boys.. I had the two kids- and we both worked.. so he helped and of course I taught him how to do stuff the same way I did it.. laundry- vacuuming , dishes.. whatever.. even ironing.. now that I stay home - he claims he doesn't remember how to do it but he steps up when I can't do stuff so he knows....

We are cold today.. snow everywhere , not a lot but it will stay till it warms up again... slept in cause I stayed up to fold laundry.. ended up watching a show about Alaska... getting to be quite a night owl...but good news is my eye wasn't swollen this morning.. still have bruises but getting lighter... there is a light at end of tunnel..

Well off to find something to eat.. late but I really slept in!

Nana

All of my brothers, sister and I split up all work, outside and in. My older son did his fair share of dishes, etc. But I think, every time he uses a vacuum, he tries to break it. He sure tried today.
I am home for the day. I fixed the vacuum since I got in, twice. I think a nap will be coming to me soon .

I went to the gym and when I came out the sky was clear and the sun was shining so I decided to brave the grocery store - bad idea. Everyone in town had the same idea. All I needed was Clorox and Tide but it took forever to check out. Then I went to the library and checked out a few shows to watch. I love watching Midsomer Murders but it doesn't come on TV anymore so I check them out at the library. I also got the Hunger Games. Shelley and Darbi loved it but I don't think I will.

And good morning. It is going to be another warm, dry day. Rain dances going on. I have an in-home appointment tomorrow so today will be some house cleaning. Vacuuming and dusting are not favorite activities. But I do appreciate when it is done.

I have a hard time making myself begin to clean. But once I start it is all good and easy...I have no idea why I am like that... why

I may well go to see my niece this morning. She must be doing better as she is getting her own girls ready for school this week.

Cleaning someone else's is more fun. Especially when you do it together. I used to go once a year and do my mother's spring cleaning. That was fun. But I was younger too.
My major gripe is the dust. I have lived in this dust bowl for most of my life. But this house is the leakiest one I have had to deal with letting the dust in. I have managed to keep out bugs and, now, most spiders for the most part. But the dust just pours in. Yes, I would love to hire someone to come in to get a layer off every week.
Enough griping. It is beginning to shape up in here.

I have problems with Dust as well, Tina...I can go like 2 days & the dust is back--looks like I have not touched it. why

Work is going really slow on the quilt--I think this weekend I am going to be doing a LOT of embroidering & nothing else.

I do think your dust is probably different than my desert dust, Carol. I was born with it and moving back to Connecticut and NY and the dust was negligible in comparison.
Sweet dreams all. I can finally go to bed.

Good morning. I was only up about 15 minutes before my alarm. It is going to be a good day. We may get some rain tonight. Not enough but anything is good. And snow in the Sierras is also good.

Carol, why do you set an alarm clock? I don't anymore since I retired. I will next week since I'm filling in at schools for the next 2 months. Without an alarm I usually wake around 7 anyway which is early enough for us.

My entire family has been talking about dust lately. It seems it's gotten worse. Ginger was using the Swifter on her wood floors the entire time we were there last week and I've been dusting a little every day. My mother, sisters, nieces, Shelley and her mother in law, have all been talking about the dust. I have someone who cleans my house once in a while and unless I'm here as soon as she leaves it's hard to tell things have been dusted. Can it be from the climate change?

Speaking of going to work next week, yesterday I woke with a horrible cough. I can't be sick next week because they are depending on me to show up and I'm sure if I go to the doc they'll say it's viral and to wait. I sort of have a sore throat too but it may be from coughing. I sure hope it goes away.

Good Morning All,

I was up early too... must be the day for it... going to make baked ravioli for dinner... so not much prep to do for that..
was kind of expecting to wake up to snow but didn't happen yet - this afternoon it's supposed to start now.. in time for rush hour.. glad I don't have to be out in it... we shopped last evening for stuff to last just in case we get a whole lot of snow-they are saying 8 inches... It is getting colder as the day goes...

We got a call from my inlaws.. my mil is in hospital , she fell and broke her ankle- she is okay they say but the dementia is really bad now, she didn't know one of her daughter's at all... , she is 95 and she can't live on her own now so they are looking for a nursing home for her- don't know what they plan to do with Joe's brother.. but it was planned to place him in a group home for autistic adults .. that would be the best for him.... I imagine she won't last a lot longer, sad but at this stage she barely knows what is going on and has lived a good long life... would be a blessing for her to go to her reward , guess time will tell.... she will now cooperate with people in hospital.. has to be restrained if she is awake - keeps pulling out iv's and trying to remove her cast... so they sedated her ... so sad...

Well off to get my stuff done- face is still bruised but not swelling to much- almost look normal now... don't think I will end up with to bad a scar.. he did a good job on it..

Stay warm everyone... Tina I get it about the dust.. lived in Yuma Az for yrs and not only dust there.. sand, had to vacuum sand up then dust or the sand would etch the finish on the furniture.. dusting was a daily event there for sure.. not so bad here but it's every few days at least..

Yes, you understand my issues with dust, Nana. And I live out in the boonies on dirt roads. It is a sad thing about your MIL but you have a healthy attitude. God Bless everyone involved.
So I had an appointment with a court investigator this afternoon. It is a yearly thing to make sure I am caring for Teddy appropriately. (I am.) But it put me in a mini-panic because I had begun some spring cleaning and pulled stuff from corners and closets and was sorting, tossing and cleaning those cupboards and closets before returning items to be stored. A house is never so messy as when you are cleaning it. Or doing remodeling. So the investigator called this morning and changed the day until next Friday. Yippee.
I can continue more conservatively with my spring spruce up but still be company ready. Good thing because we are to get some rain and that cuts down on available outdoor work. So it will help keep my nose to the grindstone.

Well Tina... I know the feeling of panic when you realize you have your house a mess cleaning and someone is due to show up that really doesn't know you don't keep it that way- glad you got a reprieve,,, my house is slowly getting back to normal... do need to dust but that involves climbing on stepstools so will wait till Sat when Joe is home.. he has 9 days off starting then...

I did nothing today.. just feel kind of like I have a sinus infection maybe... started with my neti pot so hopefully that will take care of it... usually does.. read and played on facebook.. did make a ravioli bake for dinner- quick and easy,
could be the weather changing too- getting cold and we are to get up to 8 inches of snow tonit, not looking fwd to that at all... weather alert said it will be wet heavy snow - we need the moisture but sure hate to shovel it...

Well off to call Joe and see why he is late... should have been home half hour ago.....
