What roses produce black hips but are tough enough to grow wild and spread quick, but also have color other than white? Looking for roses to plant to fill in space where multiflora rose grow but something more showy that's hardy would be nice . Need to buy a few small plants at least a foot or two tall in spring to get started.

I am just not sure, Keith. I think you may need to find a local expert for your area. I have found most of these experts at small nurseries.
May I ask, why black hips?

They are different than red or orange hips, and unique. I know they exist I just need to find a name of rose species.
