And it is a pretty Coffee House too, Cindy. All decorated for a New Year's Eve party. I hope the bar is well stocked.
Good morning. I slept well last night. So I should be able to get bunches done today. We have 70 mph wind gusts slamming down the canyon. But they are relatively warm winds so we should be good to go. Just need to watch for fires out there.

Yay a new CoffeeHouse !! party

Well I slept ok last night--Yet it never seems to be enough---I guess I should get a job working midnights--I seem to "wake up" around 8pm & then when I do finally go to sleep around 1 or so, I want to sleep until I am made to wake up in the morning...

I was going to vacuum more today--but I am washing rugs & such today instead. It is "cold" today & there is promise for it to be colder yet tomorrow, so I will vacuum then, as I will be home trying to stay warm.

Sweet dreams all. I didn't do much today. But I am tired anyway.
The winds are supposed to calm down a bit and it is to warm up nicely. The rose Parade and rose Bowl should be nice to watch on Wednesday.

Junie, are you joking or do you really wake up tired. Somethings wrong if that's the case.

Went to Chuck E Cheese today. Had a blast.

Good evening. I woke up and got cracking today on my housework. So I am feeling like I accomplished something. Then I took a nap this afternoon. It was not a bad day altogether.

Well, I never planned on napping as long as I did this afternoon. I hope I will sleep decently tonight. I want to continue the housecleaning efforts in the morning when I have the most motivation. Tonight it is bookwork and putting the year away.

Good morning. It seems cooler today and I have a fire going for the first time in days. Just to take the chill off. I will probably be letting it burn down later.
I did put away 2013 last night. All the receipts and paid bills and such are filed away. Happy to have a clean page to happen.

I have no drinking plans tonight. I will be lucky to stay awake past 8. If some idiots in the canyon start shooting at midnight, I may wake up and roll over and go back to sleep.
I hope everyone keeps safe and has a good night. Last night if 2013.

Happy New Year to All!

All is well here in Colorado- we are showing out the Old Year quietly... we went and got 5 doz tamales for dinner... they are really good... we have the boys this afternoon for a while - they didn't want to go grocery shopping with their parents .. they are playing out back right now, in what's left of the snow... before it gets to cold.. playing some kind of game involving StarWars...

We probably won't stay up tonit.. I know someone will shoot off fireworks and wake me but hopefully will go back to sleep easily...meant to take down décor today but that didn't happen so will be this weekend most likely, whenever I can get someone to help bring up the containers and do the high stuff for me....LOl!

Nana

I am already having a hard time staying awake and it is not yet 8 pm. I will sleep like a baby tonight. Or better than a baby. Ted and I went to the grocery store this morning. We didn't stay long and complete my list because of the crowds. Then we went to McD's for his lunch. I came home and inventoried my storage. Just trying to get a bead on where it all was. Life is good and I'm ready for the new year. I hope it is a good one for all of my friends here.

Sounds like Tina and nana had a good day/evening. Rod & I went to church--we had just got home & had our jammies on when some friends of ours called & said to come & meet them at a local restaurant/bar to visit while they ate a late supper.

We sat right next to them in church--if only they had of saoid something there--oh well...

I had my popcorn though & now it is me & my pepsi...."We" may ring in the new year--we shall see...

Happy New Year to you all !!!

Tina I did stay up for like 5 minutes past 12. Just for the principle of it. I then slept until 9.
I think I am really going to hate when the Holidays are over & I must get back to "reality" lol

I think I was asleep by 10 pm last night. These things run together in my mind. I never woke for ringing in the new year. My mother believed that you would be doing all year whatever you were doing at midnight on the first of Jan. I may have a very sleepy year ahead of me.
I had an 8 am meeting this morning that took under an hour. There were some hungover people there but it was a good meeting and helped clear up what this new year may bring to my neighbors. I think it was mostly positive news.
Then I have spent quite a bit of my day doing inventory of some of my stuff. So I know where it is when I need it. So dragging things out of dark corners and things and dusting them off before replacing them. It is part of my house cleaning in general.
It is time to begin my dinner prep already and I never did nap today.

I have often heard that about whatever you are doing at midnight of the current year thing. perhaps that is why I spend a lot of time at home on the couch.. why

WOW !! an 8am meeting on New Years Day !! Someone (the perosn who set up the meeting) sure has energy.

I have prepped my dinner but we are not hungry yet...

Note: I am taking my left over chili, thinning it down with tomato sauce..then I added a bit more chili powder & will add cooked spaghetti at supper time. I also like to put shredded cheese on top.

I love chili mac,Carol. Or spaghetti with chili. And cheese makes the meal for sure. Dinner here is done. I'm thinking the leftover chicken will become chick alfredo with noodles tomorrow. I so love leftovers.
But I am missing my nap. I will be looking for my pillows early again.

yes--Chili mac is wonderful...and as I am a great fan of Steak N Shake--I love their chili 3 & 5 way----As I recall they also make a Chili mac--all are wonderful.

If you are near a Steak & Shake, Cindy, go in & order some--if not just boil some pasta, put it on a plate & open a can of chili, warm it & pour it over the pasta--If you are so inclined, put some shredded cheese and or diced onions on top. YUM city indeed !!!

potato soup--that sounds fantastic !!!--melt a pat of butter on top & sprinkle with pepper---gee now I am hungry for potato soup--I so wish my DH liked soup.....He did compliment the Chili mac tonight though...

We have a steak and shake here but I have never been to it.
I have been craving potato soup...I could live on soup, all kinds. I put lots of butter and cheese in my potato soup, onion and celery chopped up fine and sauteed in the butter before I put the diced up potatoes in to cook in chicken broth...then the half and half or evaporated milk when the potatoes are done. I'm hungry now...

you dont have to go into the steak & shake--just go to the drive-thru & order a bowl of chili 3 or 5 way & take it home--then you will know how to make it.

Now I want potaot soup---it sounds so yummy----next monday I am going to have to make myself some(I say next monday because then I will have all week to eat it---the weekends are crazy here & I would not want it to go bad on me..)

and BTW: If it were up to me, I would live on soup also--make one kind--eat it til it is gone & make the next kind...But my DH does not really care for soup--so if I make it, we have it for one meal & then I eat the rest for my lunches....

I also love soup and was thinking about potato soup today. Or a chowder. I may have to do that soon.
Cindy, I think chili mac was invented as a way to cut the heat a little for children. I am one of those children. It is the only way I eat chili any more.
Sweet dreams all. It is edging into my bed time. And I never napped today so it will feel very good to lay my head down.

It is snowing much outdoors here---
The News channels here say we will get from 3 to 5 inches over night. I so hope they are wrong---but it is looking like they hit this one on the head...

I am going to sleep soon--nite-nite:[Linked Image]

I think it would be wonderful in any soup---but it should be esp good in potato soup----brown it in the pan first to impart some flavor to the soup ??/--also you can freeze ham for say up to 6 months---it is salty so does not freeze really solid--so it is not recommened to freeze it longer than that but surely you could use it up in 6 months time. (cut it up into meal size portions before freezing it--so you just have to thaw out what you need to use at one time)..but sure ham & potato soup should be yummy... thumbup

My mother freezes left over ham and says it's good after but I've never frozen it.

We had ham yesterday too but I just bought 1 small ham steak. Johnny wanted more. To bad.

Good Morning.

Well we have about 5 inches of powdery snow. SHHHHHHHHHH dont tell my DH but I took a broom out & swept a few walk ways for our Dog... lol

Tina, I took out a roast to make for Rod tonight. I think I will just thaw it & put it in the oven this afternoon--it will warm the house.

I shopped and it was good. I also took care of some banking. I thought the bank would be crowded but it was not. Put all of that away and ate some brunch.
I need to work on dinner after Ted is out of the tub.

Hello all... good evening

I shopped today too... bought the fixings for soup and have it cooking away now... got about half an hour to go.. it's veggie but I added some ham I had in freezer... smells good in here now--

It started out nice today but it is rapidly getting colder... winter is here again.... no snow till this weekend they say but it sure is chilly out there...
We got the Christmas décor down and put away-- all stacked in basement again... think I will have to start buying new containers for next yr... these are on their last legs I think... still have lights on house to get down but to cold and icy yet... may be a while if it snows again...

Well off to finish up my soup... may make some cornbread to go with..... have a good evening all....

Nana
