We overshot the last one. Here is a new coffee house for the weekend.
Good morning. It is mighty cold out. My older son stayed over last night and he kept my fire going so it is warm enough in the house this morning. We may get some rain today.
My plan is some house cleaning stuff. I have some pork to put into the crockpot today. Pulled pork sandwiches tonight with some baked sweet potatoes. Last night we had chicken noodle soup and leftovers.

That sounds like fun, Carol. Cabela's is not here on the west coast. Enjoy your day.

We must not have Cabela's either. I've never heard of it. Is it like Hobby Lobby?

Lots of our decorations are home made too by my girls and the grand children. My oldest daughter was born in 1974 and I still have things she made in Bible School sitting on my kitchen window sill. The grand children like to decorate too. There is a patch of red Christmas balls all clumped together at the lower left of the front of my tree - that's how far Aubry could reach so that's where they ended up. Looks good to me.

Sheri, near as I can tell, Cabela's is a hunting/fishing/camping store much like a Bass Pro shop. We have one of those nearby.
Yes, I often left my children's decorations where they hung them. It made the tree so much part of the family.
I'm hoping to hear what all shopping Carol accomplished today.

Please keep safe, Carol. Ice storms are nasty. My first winter back east there was an ice storm that shut down the state of Connecticut for a few days. No one was allowed on the roads outside of an emergency. Interesting times ('73 I think). I seemed to be one of the few that retained power so it wasn't too bad for me and my baby girl. Most of the state was not so lucky but I didn't really realize until much later. I lived on the only hill in my town and I will tell you that it was absolutely stunning to see. Like living in a sea of diamonds to hurt the eyes.
Sweet dreams all. I got a lot done today and I am tired. I do need to finish my fall cleaning around here. I am easily distracted.

It was in the low teens/single digits in the area last night... Then we lost power. Some of my area got it back before midnight, other places like my daughter's mom didn't get it back till 6am or so.

When it came back on my power supply had burned out on my computer lol.

Oh. Cabela's. I've ordered stuff from their catalog. We have a Bass Pro Shop not too far from here.

I've had a Christmas tree hanging on one of my kitchen cabinet knobs all year that dodge sent me last year. Some things are too precious to pack away.

We went to church, then to my MIL's so I could fix up her pills for if the weather got bad...then we ran a few errands & ate lunch out. We got home JUST as the drizzle-rain began to freeze on the winshield.--so now we are snug & safe in the house.

I think it is nap time for me, just about now...

Sheri, I have a pretty blue glass ornament that I got from someone on here one year. I too leave it up all year on my window & use it as a suncatcher...yep--somethings are just too pretty to put away.

I am glad you are in and ready for the storms, Carol. They are all over our news here too. I am very glad I am not traveling now.
I am making mac n cheese for a side tonight. That will make Ted happy. The rest of us are more than half burned out on it. But I have plenty of other stuff to please the crowds.

WE dont really eat breakfast then we eat "Brunch" out at a Restaurant--that or Rod cooks out on his grill, so as to not mess up the house. Then for supper We have leftovers OR Pizza--I will pop on of thoses in the Oven.

Mac n cheese is not really cooking. It is whipping-up-something-quick. I do often like to cook on Sunday so as to have food ready to go on Monday and Tuesday.
But I didn't today. So it will be whatever else is easy to whip up for the next few days.

Well glad that you feel that way, Tina--that is how I feel about Pizza & salads.
Now if The kids come over, I may well cook a meal----but that would be the exception. And if it is grilling weather, Rod will cook the meat outside shewinks

Keep safe on your roads, Carol.
Good morning and happy Monday to all. We have a cold wind blowing hard outside. I think up to 70 mph gusts. Very cool for our usual Santa Ana event winds. They normally warm us up a bit.

I am glad you kept yourself safe, Carol. I am back in for a few minutes. After I dropped Ted at school I rushed over to our mechanic's where I was supposed to meet Jonni to drop off her car at 8am. It is a good thing there is a Home Depot nearby to shop in because she was an hour late. Next time she will have a mighty long walk home or a wait in the mechanic's 'lounge'.
But Jonni and I stopped and did a little shopping. She enjoyed it so much she was wishing that she had her car so she could go out and do more. I also filled my tank and we got our stuff home and put away. I need to leave again in a bit to do a grocery run before I pick Teddy up from school again.

Good afternoon everyone. We do have cabelas here. It's a bit far north but not too far. It's my brothers favorite store. Tried to be productive today but couldn't do laundry. I think the lines are frozen. I did manage to get the dishes done, take out the trash and recycle, and pull some chicken out for dinner. I feel pretty proud seeing as I didn't want to get out of bed today. I think I found a sliding fee scale clinic, waiting for them to call me back to schedule. I could use some counseling right now. I'm having a tough time. I'm also applying for assistance for one of my meds. It's ridiculously expensive and I ran out a few weeks ago. I do have another med that is thankfully cheap so I'm not completely falling apart. It's been below freezing for far too long for our area. Can't wait until we thaw out a bit.

Sounds to me as if you did a LOT Cheryl...Sorry about the lines. When we lived out in the country, my DH had tape wound around some of our water lines. when the weather was going to go way down, he would go down & plug it in???..THEN we also went to bed with the door to the laundry room open & all the doors to things like the kitchen & bathroom sinks open. Thankfully we do not have to do that here----YET

I hope everything in the med issue area works out for you.

Thanks. I currently don't have insurance and don't qualify for Medicaid so it's tough finding assistance.

Sounds like you got a lot accomplished Cheryl... more than I did...been sitting most of today.. I fell the other day while I was making a fire in the woodstove- lost my balance and hit the wooden table I keep my laptop on.. knocked it over and managed to give myself a good size lump on my head and do something to my shoulder too... my grandson was here when I did it - think I scared him half to death.., anyway... had a headache for a couple days and now my shoulder hurts a lot- can't raise my arm very high .. makes it hard to much of anything constructive... so I am taking it easy... hubby is off 3 days now so I have plenty of help.. he isn't much help doing my hair though.. LOL!

We have boys today- Nicoli woke up with a migraine so Joe brought other two here after school... he feels better now...which is good but they are all hyper from being inside for the last week.. it's so cold outside they can't play for very long at a time...

Well off to rest some more... hoping to feel like moving tomorrow- got more shopping to do...

Nana

I hope you recover quickly, Nana.
I understand the medical insurance issues, Cheryl. I hope you can find something soon.
It has been a long day and I am looking forward to my bed tonight. But it was a good day. Jonni's car problem was just a hose with a hole in it. Easy fix and relatively cheap. Ted got to school and home again. I had to drive through some nifty dust/sand storms to do get that done.
The wind is still howling out there. And it is cold. Today's high was briefly 46* at some point. A day to curl up under and afghan or two and try to keep warm.

Cheryl---one can contact the Drug companies direct & ask for assisitance--i am always seeing that on TV. Worth a try anyway...

Nana--please take care---I broke my arm up high when I fell once...so if it doe snot get any better perhaps you should have it checked. (mine did not swell or ever look bruised either, so you cannot go by that.)

Tina: Wow dust storms---that is NO good !!! and yes, 2 afgans if it is called for thumbup

Good morning. I can hardly wait for daylight to check the damage from the winds out there. I won't take Ted to school. I'll leave it a day for the roads to be cleaned up. big trucks do not belong on the roads in high winds. My canyon was first on the news this morning for the winds and overturned trucks. You cannot stand up out there right now.

I think that is a wise decision to stay home, Tina....Take care.

On my way to the mechanic just now, with the truck--it seems one of us is always needing an oil change--and so it goes...

Then on to ceramics---The mechanic drops me off. :she winks:

I wish everyone a great day...wavy

I would stay home too Tina, not worth taking chances... Carol hope you had a wonderful day....

I feel better today- went out for a while did most of shopping and now need to wrap.. maybe tomorrow... got all except gift cards.. can do that tomorrow at Carrie's store... they give an extra gift card for so much spent so that will be handy... they carry all the ones I need I think...

Joe is making a pizza for dinner for us tonit- not up to cooking yet.. you would be surprised how often a right handed person uses their left arm... it's better but still really sore if I try to do much with it...

Poor little Nicoli still has his migraine going on- it comes and goes during the day- he asked for the knock out meds today again,,, only way it stops for him is to sleep... he is seeing doc again tomorrow hope they can come up with a better way to prevent this happening- isn't just eating wrong thing it seems... migraine are so crazy to treat... especially in kids..

Well off to take all the stuff I got upstairs to my room.. that will be my wrapping station tomorrow...

Nana

I wrapped a couple of my gifts today. It finally warmed up enough so I could use my hands.
I have not gotten Teddy a single gift. I am all out of ideas for him. I passed out my ideas to others. I'll have to wander around until I find something. He's both easy and hard. It is very hard to find something to really please him. But whatever he gets he is happy with. And then puts away someplace. Since he got his iPad he is not as interested in videos. He does watch some, sometimes. But not as often as he has in the past.
I am ready to shower and zone out until bed time. We will go to school tomorrow. And I will shop after I drop him off.
Sweet dreams all.

So glad that you are feeling better, Nana. I hope that trend continues.

Tina---This is the first year I am having real problems deciding what to buy as well...I guess in the end it will all work itself out. Good luck shopping tomorrow.

I too will be going shopping tomorrow. My sister has invited me--YAY !!! (a good time will be had by all) if I have time, I will be in in the morning, otherwise I will see everyone tomorrow night.

Sweet Dreams---I should get going to sleep soon. G'nite wavy

Good morning. I am up way before my alarm again. I surely will be napping this afternoon. I have meatballs that I made and froze. I'm thinking Swedish meatballs in the crock tonight to keep life simple. I have a lot of food in the house to go with it. If I don't go that route I can do soup and grilled cheese or something. I feel like comfort food, I guess.

Rod is having left overs & frozen prepackaged foods for supper---he was not happy. LOL if I would have a full supper fixed, and on a plate in teh fridge, he would be a happy camper---and I tried, I really did---I made a one pot6 meal last night, and I was sure there would be leftovers, well If there is enough then good--if not it is "White castles" for him to fill up on...Where I messed up is, I didnt make a dessert last night---LOL

I am off to go get dressed & ready to leave for shopping---Catch you all later. wavy

Meatballs are in the crock for later. If I have energy tonight I will make some fried rice to go with them because I decided on sweet and sour as a base for the meat. I stopped to shop for a couple of items before coming home. Put that away and played with my wood stove. I need to drop my older son off for an appointment he has before I go back to pick up my younger son. I will be napping later.

Good morning. I never napped yesterday. I fell into bed last night and slept hard. And woke before my alarm. A good thing because I forgot to set my alarm last night.
I wish everyone a very happy Thursday.

Good Morning.

I slept hard too. I wish I had of slept longer but I guess my mind was worried about me going shopping again...I sorta have to--to try to get it done. "They" are forcasting another ice storm for Friday & Saturday. Then next week, if the weather is cooperative, I have all kinds of things to do & places to be. So, today it is, I guess.

Tina, glad that you got some more done yesterday.

OH MY, I forgot !!!! THE Best thing happened to me...

I was in Kohl's--and I bought my DH & one of my SIL's a shirt & my MIL a necklace. Then I bought 2 of thoses books that the money goes to charity....
Well, I found out I was the "Dream Reciept Winner of the Day" !
Basically what that means is is that I had all of my purchases bought by Kohl's--well except for the 2 Charity books.

How about that !!!

Wow... that is wonderful Carol.... it's always nice to know someone who actually gets these prizes... ! and really helps the budget too...

We have finally warmed up some... at least my house is finally warmer without having to have all the heaters going... sun is out today too and hopefully melting rest of snow on roads... big roads are clear but the neighborhoods roads are still icy...

Well off to go get the bills done... and then get some housecleaning done, we are doing Christmas at Carrie's house again this yr... she is doing a prime rib again.. it makes it so much easier.. I will do a couple sides and desserts..

Have a good day all.... off I go to pay bills.....

Nana
