I am officially stuffed. Dinner is cooling to be put in the fridge in a bit. Dishes are done. I have a free Saturday night. It is Saturday, isn't it?

I am sorry you had an off day, Nana. I have had similar bouts over the years for unknown reasons. I hope it has completely passed by now.

Tomorrow is my Churches Sausage Supper. I will go and work at it--(I help cut pies & set them out on a table so people can chose a dessert to go with their meal.)

I will not be home, most likley until the evening some time---so, I wish everyone a good day tomorrow.

G'nite everyone--sweet Dreams

I hope you at least get free food for your labors, Carol. I also hope you don't work yourself to the bone. Enjoy.
I can finally go to bed. It is relatively quiet right now.

I realized when I said that that this is a fundraiser and you would probably buy your food, Carol. I hope you are having fun with your friends.
Good morning. I was up late and slept in. I need to get up on my roof and get it ready for winter which is to begin tomorrow for us. A cold rain is supposed to come in and settle down for a day or two. I am happy for the rain, not so much for the cold.

Hi all,

Your pies look wonderful Carol-- I love pumpkin pie too... kids don't much so I only make it on holidays ... I will mention my little bout with whatever it was to my doc when I go for my physical.. it didn't even last 24 hours but sure knocked me out ...

I cleaned out my office today- sorted and shredded... was a mess in there ... still need to dust and vacuum some but I am doing laundry and will have boys for a while this evening- Carrie and Jon are going out for her birthday ... I finally got her to go to doc last week and she is anemic so is taking iron now- hopefully that will help her feel better soon...

I don't know what I will feed Joe for dinner- she is bringing the boys pizzas... I guess I can do a stirfry for us... that sounds good to me ....

Well I am going to go take a quick shower- was lazy this morning and just cleaned in my jammies.. have a good evening all....

Nana

You deserve a relaxing day from working two jobs, Cheryl.
My leaky roof is ready for this rain. Next spring/summer I will have it done again. Not just patched but stripped down and repaired. We have all clean bedding and clean clothes for the week. We are trimmed, bathed and ready for school. I feel accomplished.

Nana: So glad that you will mention this to your Dr. Could be nothing & could be a warning of things to come.

If I were you I would make some salads to go with the Pizza & I would eat pizza also.

Cheryl--Yep--you deserve a day off---glad you got to do some fun things.

Tina---you are the most organized well accomplished person I know. No matter how much I do, I think you do more----Good Job !! You should be proud of yourself.

I worked all day today at the Church Dinner & I am so very tired---I will dry some clothes & then go to bed early--yerp I will.

Sweet dreams, Carol. I am not as organized as I sound. I really put this roof repair off until the last minute. I am glad I watch approaching weather or I'd be in much sadder shape.

Good morning.

Tina, my roof is getting a re-tar this week also and like you, next Summer it needs a full re-do. Oh well, thinking I'll change the color as well.

Those pies look yummy, care to share? lol

What a busy weekend here and this week will be the same...I kind of forgot how working, keeping a house and having a toddler was like. I can't seem catch up on things.

We had our roof replaced in 2012, we opted to go with the white/light grey shingles as it'd reflect more sun rays and thus help diminish heat (as darker shingles absorb more heat).

Then this year we had solar panels put on through Solar City and they ultimately absorb the heat and sun rays but they're spaced about 5" off the roof line so it doesn't really make for too much heat from them.

Good morning. I already have the lightest roofing color available for the purposes of heat reflection. I will keep doing that.
I am ready for what this week will bring.
Sunny, the key when having a toddler around is to keep some priorities. Sometimes that dust will wait for you to have a few spare minutes and a bit of leftover energy. Having Teddy is much like having a small child in some ways.

Tina, I agree. The dust & such will wait. Little ones are the more important (& more fun) choice.

I Like a dark roof here--but it is a trade off- We need the heat it affords in the winter--but do have to put up with it in the summer---but I still prefer the darker shingles.

I got to see Luke yesterday. he smiles when he sees me now, BUT he still does not like me to take him is mamma is there---he still thinks if he sees me, then his mom is leaving. I hope that will change in a year or so.

I am just beat today---I will be doing little of nothing.

This is bazaar. Twice now, I have had to re-login. The only time I usually have to do that is when we have turned off the computer--and while my DH may have this morning before I got up, I sure did not between visits this morning--oh well.. why

Tina While I did buy my meal--and I did buy left-over sausage for a meal, & I did buy 2,- 4 cup containers of cranberry salad, I was given 2 pieces of pie instead of 1 with my meal & The minister kept us who were in the pie room, suppled with sausage and beverages throughout the day, so that was nice.

It sounds like you had a good day, Carol. And you deserve a day of rest.
We all need color changing roofing for season changes.
I shopped for my needs in case I don't get out for a few days. I will go pick up Ted in a bit and stuff him full of food all evening. Nothing after midnight for him.

My roof is different shades of grey..like to try brown tones this time I think.

I am off to the dentist tomorrow as well, after work that is. Another busy day ahead. Hoping Ted fairs out o.k.

Afternoon all...

I have had the little boys today- Nicoi woke up with a migraine .. at least it was just the headache and not his tummy too this time... he feels better now - Derek was just tired out... he slept in so just brought them both here so I could get stuff done here...will take them home soon... did my next months budget and bookkeeping stuff... we did have some good news the union and co settled so no strike for us- nice to have that off our minds..

We are going tonit to pick up our new glasses.. will be good to have those.. mine are scratched and driving me crazy...

We had our roof redone last yr .. it's in brown tones... they are selling one here that is has solar capabilities built in to the shingles... more expensive but if I was doing new construction I would consider it... would have to find out how hail resistant it is though... we get a lot of hail storms here...

Well off to get boys to clean up living room mess... they played every board game we own.. and I have to get out something for dinner after we get back from eye doc... thinking something quick and easy... and warm- temps dropped 40* from yesterday... and it may snow- raining off and on now.... UGH!

Have a good evening all

Nana

So sorry about the boys, Nana. I hope they are better tomorrow. Enjoy your new glasses, & do not work too hard.
it is good that you do not have to deal with a roof for awhile, that must be comforting.

Sunny, a Brown roof sounds nice---good luck in that.

I think I may begin to wrap Christmas Gifts tonight. As slow as I am I think I need to wrap all the little things I have so far, so as to get me started.

Well, I will watch "How I met Your Mother" first.

I took a long, hard nap this afternoon. Listening to the rain fall. No roof leaks today. So my fixit must be holding for the time being. I hope it lasts the winter.
I have been purchasing small Christmas gifts too. I may stick to small gifts and give money to my kids as a main gift this year. I am not sure yet. I have no good gift ideas.

I can't sleep...just what I need, not.

I am thinking gift cards this year for Christmas..except for grandbaby. Her main gift will be a portable dvd player I think.

Well, Valarie called tonight just as HIMYM came on, so I missed it. Tomorrow I will be able to watch it online though so that is good. It was great to talk to her though...

Sorry you cannot sleep Sunny. I have nights like that. I have in the past gone 24+ hours w/o sleep & felt fine---that is sure strange though....

Tina: You got a nap, huh?/ that is GREAT. I hope you woke feeling refreshed...

Sorry that you missed your show, Carol. But it is good to keep in touch with your family too.
My nap left me rested but a bit disoriented. Although I plan a nap into my days, I don't always sleep and even when I do, not for so long.
Nana got me started on my budget for next month. I have been frugal this month and have leftovers. But next month is property taxes and the month after is Christmas. We will see what the end of the year brings.
I tried to post this a couple hours ago but the site was down.

I cameback in to post a good night earlier as well, Tina--but it while I got on the site, I was not allowed to post once I had goten on--then I could not get back on either--oh well--perhaps there was some work being done ???

BTW: I waited until just past midnight & then I watched HIMYM online, so I didn't miss it after all....But yes my girls come first, always they come first. I also got to talk to her later on FB, as she had a nap today & was not able to go to sleep at the usual time tonight, so that was an added bonus.

Going to consider going to sleep now--we shall see. I really should rest as there is ceramics tomorrow...

Property taxes in November? That's bad timing....ours is due the middle of May here. It's due just after income tax refunds are given back. Best way ever. In one hand, out the other..and no saving needed. Mind you with me working now, something will change drastically I am sure.

Off to a full day of work and errands....have fun for me today if you can.

Good Morning. Yep--property taxes are due in July I think it is here. (but you can pay them in 3 installments as well.)

BUT somehow my property insurance is due in November. Now while that is less than Property taxes by far, it still is Money I could use for Christmas. OH well, it is what it is.

I like that idea--I will have fun for you all.

SHHHHHHHHHH, don't let it get out, but I actually "GET" to go to ceramics today....

Good morning. I didn't sleep well. I know I will be napping later.
Our property taxes have been pushed back a little more than a month this year. I am not sure why. They are broken into two payments with one due early Dec and the second half due in early April. The fiscal year for the county begins in July and ends the following June 30. Also not sure why but it has been this my whole life.
I am getting ready for my day.

Good evening...

Went to the dentist and finally convinced them to pull out my back molar that has been bothering me for yrs. I had it filled so many times..I'll be glad to have it healed up and done with.

Wondering how Teddy fared out?

BTW: Started my Christmas list shopping today..cards and such. Figured it was about time.

Sunny: I hope the tooth being gone helps you & that you feel better for it.
And yes, I was wondering about Teddy as well... why

yes, a Christmas list. My mom gave me a bunch of free cards and I bought some end of season last year--so I think on cards I am good. But to make a list to get me started otherwise is a good idea, so thanks !!

I bought cards, tags, wrapping paper, money and gift card holders...and a few window clings. Having a wee one around for Christmas sure makes it fun.

I used to buy my items right after Xmas on boxing day but they stopped boxing day shopping here...and it ALWAYS storms on the 27th it seems. So we never make it to the store on time for the good buys.

I have boxes & cards for gift cards/money--left over form past sales. and I have enough paper too. well, I will make what I have work. I DID buy 2 very pretty gift boxes to put "something" (??) in for my girls. Like I said this part (the getting ready ) is MY Christmas.

I have window clings--but I have film on my windows now, so I don't use the clings much. Perhaps I will next year, when Luke is 2. and Christmas 2014, Valarie's baby will only be around 8 months old, plus I will be the "other" Grandma....so perhaps in 2 years it will be more fun for me

I used to go shopping the day after Thanksfiving (Black Friday) and then on the 26th but now a days, I have no one to go with, so I do not go then either. E-bay is my friend...

Sunny, I am so very happy you are having more fun this year. That makes me smile. winky

It really is more fun with little ones.
Teddy did well. It was a long day. About 10 hours long. A half hour transporting us and a 3 hour wait before they called Ted back. Another hour or so going waiting for the OR to be finished then 5 hours in surgery and recovery. The last half hour home in evening rush hour. A very long day.
We will do it all again in about 3 months.
I'm whupped. Sweet dreams all.

So glad that Ted did well, Tina. BUT so very sorry for the long day. I so wish you could have stayed home until say an hour before they were actually ready for Teddy. But oh well, it is what it is I guess. Bottome line is if Teddy did well, then the rest does not matter...Sweet Dreams to you both...
