Hi all,

I will take a pic when I get the new lap blanket together... it will take a little longer since I am making the cover from old clothes- sort of a crazy quilt without the quilting...just can't see buying material again to cover it when I can recycle the good parts of old clothes...

I really liked using the mandolin.. sure made it easy to cut the cuke up nice and thin, I cut up some big pieces of broccoli tonit to add to the stir fried rice to go with orange chicken from a box.. I am trying to add more veggies to everything I can when I cook and it makes it a lot easier..

Joe is off tomorrow and we are going to go look for a bigger cabinet to use in the kitchen for storage... it is so small I can't keep my appliances out- and very little room to keep them in cupboards.. especially the bigger ones.. they end up in the basement and then I have to traipse up and down to use and put them away.. kind of a pain..

Good idea to rent a power washer to do your siding- Joe just usually washes ours off and calls it good... may have to mention that to him as a possibility... though I think all the rain we had did a pretty good job this year..

Well off to see about cleaning up the kitchen mess and go read a while... still have to finish up my office cleaning out.. forgot Joe stuck my old rocker in there to remind himself to fix the bottom of it.. the rocker fell off so he has to drill out the old dowel and reglue and new one in ... he has done it more then once already.. I think I may want to refinish it too.. it's my rocker from when Carrie was born ...

Have a good night all... sleep well ...

Nana

So, I hear you saying you are off your rocker until its repaired, Nana? winky
I really didn't do much today to merit my tiredness. Laundry is done and some ditch work outdoors. A little raking here and there. I am going to say good night though. Sweet dreams all.

I'll take some of that coffee, please. I am up earlier than I need to be too. But I like keeping a fairly regular sleep schedule on weekends so I'm not so messed up for the week.
Good morning all. Today is my day to clean and organize for the week ahead. So that is my main plan.

I had no half and half for my coffee this morning. boohoo
I have no milk. The cats are totally out of fish.
Guess who is going to have to break down and go to the grocery today.
I have only left one time since I hurt my arm over a week ago and that was to the hospital.

Good morning all, I was too busy to get in yesterday.

Today is an easier day, we are celebrating Thanksgiving today and my mother is hosting the meal this time.

My siding needs a scrubbing too, we have a pressure washer but it doesn't clean very well I find. I think it really needs to be attached to a hot water line.

Have a good day all.

Happy Thanksgiving, Sunny!
My plans for dinner include things that won't mess up my kitchen. Like grilling a london broil and baking potatoes and roasted veggies in a bag. I can throw it all out after I am done except the plates and cutlery. Lazy stuff.
I am thinking of napping about now. Bedding is done and about all that is left today is bathing and shaving my son. And that dinner later.

Hi !! Sunny--I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving Day !!!

Cindy, you have NO business driving any vehicle, understand ??? tapfoot

about the pressure washer---
Rod says that this one was barely strong enough to go the job properly. & it had 2700 psi.
He thinks perhaps a scrubbing with warm water & soap then the pressure washer would be the way to go---personally I think first the Washer to clean most of the stuff off & then the scrub brush, then of course the washer again, but oh well it is done for this year---all the moss, etc is gone from ours & from the street it looks pristine white. BUT up close you can still see some grey dots in areas that were under the moss/mildew (whatever it was) but hey, the main gunk is gone. shewinks

Today my MIL is over---so, I had to play hostess, as my DH is not---so I did things like washed dishes & scrubbed out the coffee maker. Soaking out the resevoir again, and bleaching out the cutting board it sits on as we speak.

before Rod goes to bed I think I will clean our bedroom.
Slow but sure wins the race, right ???

You will get it done, Carol. And your company is coming to see you, not your house. So if someone complains, tell them they are welcome to come run the vacuum any day. I would just not invite them again. I'm like that though.
I am about ready to do the bath/shaving thing with my kid. I smile all through shaving. He likes it and it amuses me to do it. He makes all of the proper funny faces.

clap bop Yes my rocker is going to stay broken for a while since he is watching football and not fixing it anytime soon... so guess I will stay off my rocker for awhile yet... not that anyone could tell the difference...LOL!

We are supposed to get some rain tonit but right now it's only a little cloudy- we could use the rain ... just not the torrential kind please...

I am going to start cutting my cloth pieces in a while.. have to set up in my family room so I can get to my office easily- my machine is in a cabinet in there.. and that makes it have to stay there- it's a heavy thing to move...will be easy to watch tv and get this lap blanket made too and rest on computer too...LOL!

Have a good evening all....

Good morning. I like Mondays. It is a mini fresh beginning every time. Exciting to see what the new week will bring. I think today is Columbus Day? I am not sure but there are a couple parades and things being advertized. We still go to school on C day though. So I'm off to get ready for that.

Good Morning ,

We go to school on Columbus Day too... there was a parade over the weekend though.... well most of them went to school.. Nicoli had an attack last night and is kind of groggy from the leftover drugs in his system.. Carrie has to give him a combo of Benadryl, and an antiacid , and some prescription stuff... knocks him out but makes him loopy afterwards... have to pick up Derek today too so will be a running kind of day..

Never did work on my blanket yesterday, got busy cleaning out the cupboards in my office and lost track of time... happens a lot to me when I start cleaning stuff out... good news is I cleaned out a lot of junk... now I have room for new junk...LOL!

Well now Nicoli wants food... so got to go find him something to eat... have a good day all!

I dropped Teddy at school and got a request for wiggly eyes. So I went to Walmart to do my little bit of shopping. I have eyes of all types at home but decided I wanted to keep them. Just in case I decide to do any more kid crafts. So now his class will have about 500 eyes of several sizes. That is so much fun for me. While I was cruising through, I also picked up glitter glue and pom-poms of various sizes and colors. I'll let the teacher and aides decide what to do with them.

I stopped at my sister's & spent so long there that i decided to go shopping on Thursday--I have to go grocery shopping that day anyway. So I will continue my cleaning today.

Well, that sucks. I am sorry for this loss...I haven't read back yet to see what's been happening.

Tina, you so rock with the googly eyes and glitter and stuff. All they ever wanted when Rachel was in school was money....so I did that. Buying craft stuff would be much funner....and I would have still given them money if they wanted it. (Sounds like I was being extorted...lol)

about my loss----The person who passed was the husband of one of the ladies that I go to ceramics with. He was not doing so well, but I thought that he would just end up staying in the Nursing Home----

A sad thing yes, but not my family or my family' family--so not so stressful as it might be. Thanks though.

Tina sure does a lot for Teddy's class, even if she is having fun doing it. I sure hope they appreciate her.
I gave of my time and bought items. Whatever was needed I tried to do.

Good morning. Up before my alarm, again.
As far as Teddy's classroom goes. First, Ted is a special case. He and his entire class of about 12 students are pretty much all adults but of around a kindergarten mentality. So they have short attention spans and need constant new stimulation and things to engage them. My husband was a teacher and we purchased many things out of pocket to ease his path in the classroom. It seems his regular high school students needed such to engage short attention spans too. winky
And the state of the economy has really hurt teachers in general. If I can donate things that help, like tissues or hand soap, then maybe Ted stays a little healthier. If I can bring in snacks and juice, then Ted will have more options in his diet. And the rest is just fun. Affordable fun. This is pretty much most of Ted's social life. When he leaves school in another couple of years, it will get harder to find social options where he is comfortable. And will cost me much more in both money and time. I am grateful for his opportunities.
There is more to it all but that is the basic. Ted brings to the classroom his own strengths. Several of his classmates are autistic-like and have meltdowns or are excitable. Ted is calm and seems to be calming for them. He sits and quietly does his own thing and they relax with him nearby.

Good morning., I awoke to rain this morning. Coffee Please.

Yes, I remembered about Ted, Tina. and yes it is good he has his school to go to---BUT you are still a good Mom & a good "Room Mother". The school is lucky to have you, as well as Ted. I am glad that he has a calming affect on other students. That must make you proud.
I know about classrooms & what the teachers do not have. Both of my girls teach school. teach

Just stopping in before Ceramics & then a funeral. Really cannot do much ceramics in Dress clothes, but oh well.

Good Afternoon all,,

It is snowing - not sticking yet but it may be tonit - it's only in the 40's right now and supposed to be freezing tonit.... so not ready for this- hate being cold!

I finally got enough sleep I think, took a 2 hour nap yesterday- Joe cooked up some rolled tacos for dinner since I was asleep when he got home.. I ate and went right back to bed... slept thru till after 8 this morning... actually feel mostly human now... been working on the lap blanket today- took my piece of sheet and marked it off with sewing lines for the bead pockets and edge lines... 35 pockets in it... so not to big to sew by myself... Now I am going to cut out as many pieces from the old clothes and see how big of a cover I can make from what I have...

We are going to Walgreens today after Joe gets off work to get our flu shots- company pays it all so that's a good thing for us, next week is eye exams.. both of us need new glasses...even with my new lenses I need to wear mine , and Joe needs to wear his all the time too.,, he tries to get away with it just at work but wonders why his head hurts half the time...

Well off to cut some squares and rectangles... have a good day all!
Nana

It is too early for snow. It was pretty on out mountains last week but it was gone in a couple of days. It is in the low 70's today.
I already had a long day. Ted has oral surgery coming up on the 29th. Tomorrow he has a pre-op appointment with his primary doctor to make sure he's healthy enough, etc. Then a pre-op with the dentist on Thurs. And another pre-op with the anesthesiologist on the 22nd. As sweet as he is, this stuff is a pain.
I am going to take a nap.

Darn it! I did my dishes before I saw Carol was making the rounds.
We had leftovers tonight with some freshly made mac n cheese to go with. With all of the appointments, I don't have to wake at my usual time. Bet I do though.

Have you ever had mac and cheese from a box? I haven't, but the church food box always has a box of mac and cheese....seems a bit odd to me but I might try it.

I need dishes washed... notme

Personally I LOVE mac & cheese from a box--yes you should try it--and it is SO easy to make. Some milk & some butter & you are home free. I add a bit more macaroni so I have more and it is not so "cheesy" then.

Ok Cindy---I'll be to your house just after I get Tina's "new" dirty dishes cleaned.

Hey--All you guys gonna feed me ???? All this traveling is making me hungry...

Good morning, the kids used to love boxed mac and cheese. I like the white cheddar kind. Makes a quick side dish on busy days.

The weather is damp today...I so do not want to see snow anytime soon.

Good morning. I like all kinds of pasta dishes. But I am leaving the boxed ones behind as well as most frozen. I like the taste and convenience but am getting leary of the ingredients stuffed in there. I raised my kids on them though.
I got to sleep in a bit this morning. It is very dry and windy out and not too cold. Not a bad day to have a doctor appointment.
