A new one because the last is full up. I think we should decorate this one for the season. I'm thinking some spider webs in the corners and a few pumpkins scattered around.

It is getting pretty fancy in here. The best part is, no one has to dust anything or take it down at the end of the season.

Good morning, I am loving this "Indian Summer" that has fallen upon us. Such a nice treat after the awful Summer we had, great weather for winterizing our homes and yards.

Today Grandbaby and I will be hitting the dollar store to get Halloween decorations, I bought a few last year but she took them home for her own apartment lol

DD also finally has reached enough hours and pay at work to take her off 'Assistance'..this week she shall receive her first child support cheque. With our luck, this will be the month he doesn't pay it. rolz

Hoping you all have a good day planned and that Nana's snow holds off for a bit longer as well.

Good morning !! I have been up since 4:30-- rolz
Thank goodness for Coffee. breakfast

I am feeling much better today--I have spent the night coughing up stuff & that has helped tremendously.

This is good as I have to go fix up my MIL's pills today.
But I will also go visit my sister for a bit. Then I will come home & do some work around here that has sit waiting patiently while I was sick.

Your DD will automatically get a child support check ?? that is awesome---and only right !

I hope "everyone's" snow holds off until December 24 & then stops by the evening of the 25th. hifive

I wish you all a good day !!!

Good morning. I was up slightly before my usual time. But feeling good and looking forward to the day.
I am glad you are feeling a little better, Carol. I hope the recovery continues for you. Don't overdo things.
Sunny, enjoy the decorating with your grandgirl. That sounds like fun.

And I am home and in for the day. I had Jonni watch Ted while I did a bunch of running. It was good.

Glad that you are home for the day. Also glad that Jonni was available to be there with Ted for you.

I too am home for the day. I went to do some work for my MIL & then to my sister's house. she not only fed me lunch, she gave me chili & some lemon pie for our supper tonight--Thank Heaven for Sister's--

I am returning next week. I think I shall at the very least take her breakfast.

Evening all,,

I am so tired I am actually considering recording the rest of the shows I want to watch and going to bed... think I will try and watch Greys at least though- otherwise I will wake up at 2 and be up the rest of the night- not my favorite thing to do for sure...

I made a stir fry for dinner- with chicken.. it came out good... even have enough leftover for lunch tomorrow, so that is good... I like it when I can manage to make just enough for another meal...

It is supposed to get cold tonit - may snow a little too tomorrow down here- so not ready for it to be cold... so hope it warms up again.

Carrie and Jon had the meeting with the principal today. she got her point across about keeping that teacher away from Derek. they agreed and she will be retrained... she also had Derek's psychologist call the schools and tell him he better follow her instructions on handling Derek .. she knows what he needs .. they told her the teacher will not be around Derek until she is retrained and he is ready to see her again... he gets to start Art tomorrow too - Carrie talked to the teacher today and briefed her on his needs.. she said she could handle it so hope he has a good day tomorrow- he loves to do any kind of art and they are painting ceramics ... so he is willing to go back ... took us all summer to prepare him to go to school again and she just about ruined all his progress.... he is a very black and white kid- if he perceives it as wrong it stays that way in his head and she was definitely in the wrong - they admitted it and so did she- wanted to apologize to him but he won't see her- he is afraid of her and she just doesn't get it.. he needs to feel safe and she took that away from him......

Well enough of my vent... I am going to hit my pillows soon... have a good evening all..
Nana

I was wore out today as well, Sherri. After supper was over, I slept for about 90 minutes. I got up just as The Big Bang Theory had began--so THAT timing was good.

Sounds like the school is listening to Carrie about Derek, which is wonderful--I was worried they would side with the teacher.

I hope that some how Derek can put this all behind him. perhaps Art Class will help that to happen.

Tina: I think I will make her some of her favorite muffins, that or some scones.

Goodnight everyone--I think I will hit the sheets early tonight.

Good morning. I slept well and woke feeling pretty good. We have some strong winds blowing outside. This is the time of year my newer neighbors learn why most everything is anchored down heavily. We see some interesting things blowing by down the road.

It's like that here, as soon as fall hits everything not secured flies away lol... I've had my gazebo's nearly lift off of my porch for years (you wouldn't really think the tiny anchors they use would be so strong lol).

I am so sorry for both of you. The Santa Ana winds were on our news/weather this morning.
I wish you all in that area the best. I can only imagine the troubles those winds cause.

Good Afternoon... would have been morning but I slept in till 10... really late for me but guess I needed it... it snowed last night... just a dusting but it's still white in spots on my yards... and it is cold- highs in the 30's .. my heat is on......

I haven't heard from Carrie yet today so hoping D went to school without a problem... I know she is trying to get some sleep as she closed last night after having 2 diff appts with Derek.. and no nap time for herself so not going to call her ...

Well off to make some pumpkin muffins for next weeks lunch snacks .. got my stew in the crock simmering away.... good warm food for the quick change to winter weather... sure feel for you guys with the Santa Ana's.. I really hate the wind , always have...

Have a good day all!

Nana

Brrr, Nana. I am not looking forward to the cold weather. Keep warm.
Yes the Santa Ana's are harsh and I live in a major canyon. They begin here early and end a day or two after the rest of the southwest. As a kid, I used to enjoy them blowing me around. I ruined then lost a very nice umbrella trying to make like Mary Poppins once. The winds were warmer down in town. Some kind of compression thing coming down the hill. But up here, in the canyon, they sneak around the mountains and don't warm so much. It only warmed to 72* here today on my sheltered porch and not for long. Out in the actual wind, it was chillier.
John and I built and planted for the wind. So right around my house is pretty nice, much calmer than just going to the end of my short driveway. But the plantings could also cause a fire danger. If it isn't one thing, it is another.
Tomorrow is to be another dry windy day. Humidity is in single digits.
I will be watchful.

Yes, they say we will be having a bad winter as well. I know we used to every winter back when I was a kid and also when my kids were growing up & home, but I have become used to these warmer/not cold, icy or snowy winters. Yep, not looking forward to this winter.

I was so lucky that Rod worked afternoons & was home to take the kids to school, (we did not have Bus service any of the years the kids were in school) so at least I didn't have to drive in the messes that came.

I have heard the hard winter forecasts for you folks. I hope everyone keeps warm and safe. Ours is supposed to be normal. I hope normal "wet" and not normal "dry" though.
I haven't done much worth bragging about today. But I am tired anyway. So I am going to say good night and sweet dreams.

Good morning. I got my coffee before coming in. That was a fast moving mack truck. All will be well after the coffee kicks in though.
I hope your cold leaves the premises soon, Carol.

The coffee has helped. I am really bringing up stuff this morning,--this is the strangest cold I have ever had--I am thinking this is not a cold but a new strain of virus...after say 3 or 4 days you feel well then one day you are feeling good & then sick part of the next---congested one day & not the next & back & forth... why

I will be ok in a few hours if history repeats itself.

I hope it is mellowing out for you, Carol.
I decided today is a heavy laundry day. Washing the stuff from my linen closets that will come in useful with the cooler weather on tap. It was all put away clean and clear plastic bagged but I like to freshen. And Ted likes to help. Cleaning bathrooms and double checking that I did not forget anything in the budget. I am paranoid about the funds.

Evening all,

Well Joe had a weekend day off so we did our errand running, I must make a note no Sam's and grocery shopping on Saturday's... way to many people.... UGH!

Joe is cooking burgers tonit and corn on the cob.. it's warmed up some and we will cook soon... was windy earlier but has calmed down a little bit...

I did all my linen washing the other day when it was nice.. hung everything out that I could and placed back in linen closet.. like mine fresh for winter too...glad I did- I have a feeling we are in for a long snowy winter- the squirrels all have really bushy tails and they are a whole lot more of them burying food in my yards- never saw so many before.

Hubby decided to let Joseph buy my car from us and buy me a new used car.. he has our son looking at his dealerships for us.. he runs the parts dept for 7 dealerships so he will tell all the salesmen to keep and eye out for one .. hopefully soon..

Well off to make the burgers . big pack from Sams to break down and pkg up for the freezer- we have been eating out of freezer and pantry for a month so we filled it up today with new and fresh stuff- nice to know it's there for the winter...

Have a good evening all...
Nana

Your dinner sure sounds good, Nana. I had burgers too. I never go to Costco on weekends.
I am sure tired for someone who didn't really strain myself today. I think it is the wind sucking energy out of me. It is supposed to leave the area tomorrow or the next day. Then mid-week we could get some rain. Rain is a blessing. Even a cold rain.

WE had thin pork shops and chive & sour cream pasta.

Nana you dinner did sound good, but what sounds best is that your DH made it for you. I must be a bad manager--my freezer is full & the pantry is full but nothing really good around here to eat--- why

Tina I think weather does affect how we feel. I often feel all drugged out in the fall & the spring.

I will bid everyone g'night. Sweet dreams to all.

Good morning. I think the wind is gone. I am ready for Sunday. There is so much to do. My roof is pine needle littered again. It was all clean last week. I may get up there and clean it off again. At least the gutters because we may get rain this week.

Good Morning everyone. It rained here again--at this rate I will not get my fall outside painting done this year---but then there is always spring.

Typical sunday here. Church & then spending the day with my MIL..

Hi all,

It is a chilly morning but supposed to get warm today... sun is out at least and wind has settled down.. have I said how much I hate the wind blowing.....

I am in the process of sticking a roast in the crock pot to cook with enchilada sauce.. should make at least 2 good size trays of enchiladas , one for dinner one for the freezer, roast was a bogo buy so almost free too.. just time consuming to put them together... Joe will shred it for me tonit after work ,that just kills my hands to do anymore..

Well time to add the sauce... have a good day all!
