Still raining and gloomy here.

Thank goodness for the coffee.

My DH woke me this morning when he was getting up to go to work. My arm hurt from the flu shot, my hip hurt from where my mesh is anchored to the pelvic bone & I was cold. So I thought it was a good time to get up & get some work done this morning before I went to take the truck in to get the oil changed. Drinking my coffee with spiced pumpkin flavored creamer in it. I figure it is perfect for fall. shewinks

Good morning. Up more than an hour before my alarm and it felt like I overslept it. So I guess I am up. I have some stuff to get done today. This is the coolest morning we have had for months.

We might see some sun in between the rain today. We're dropping into the 40's at night already. Makes it hard to crawl out of my nice warm bed. Got a training class today and tomorrow. Leaving in about 5 mins. Just wanted to drop by and say good morning!

Good evening. I had an exciting afternoon. A fire popped up very near to me and we are under mandatory evac orders. I packed to leave but the fire is looking good around here so I haven't gone anywhere. It is much smaller than it was and the winds are moving away from us. I may or may not take Ted to school in the morning, depending on the state of the evac stuff. Although most of the fire equipment has moved on, the cops are still blocking people from entering the area.
It is good to practice a fire drill/evac situation.
The fire department has pretty much moved out and up the road further.

Hi Cheryl--don't work too hard....
Tina--I do so hope that you do not have to be evacuated. That is scary even if you are prepared. But I have to agree, practice makes perfect.

I am going to bed soon---wavy

I did not evacuate. They are allowing the neighbors who did back into their homes now so life is good. I have stayed up very late and so did Ted so I won't be taking him to school tomorrow. I need the day to get my van back in order anyway. I am heading to bed now. I am achy tonight.

Sending prayers that Tina and family are safe...such a scary situation.

I have decided to turn myself into a rubber duck...I'd fit in well with all the water here. The rain is ridiculous. So discouraging.

Hubby is grilling steak for us tonit.. early birthday dinner for us.. will make sautéed mushrooms and a baked tater to go with... I like any night I don't have to cook! LOL!

Tomorrow my oldest and I are going out for lunch.. will try and get Carrie to go too.. she needs some time out .. but she may want to sleep before she closes the store tomorrow night.. we will see...

I took some time today and cleaned out my pantry... got rid of stuff that was old- mostly spices.. and some I had doubles off I gave the extra to Carrie... she had a whole chicken cooking in her crock pot today- smelled so good at her house....
Well off to make the mushrooms... have a good evening all!

Your dinner sounds good too, Nana.
I made mac n cheese tonight. It is Ted's favorite and the only way I have been able to get veggies into him. Hiding them in the cheese sauce. Just no mushrooms for him.

He won't eat those things. Ted is like a picky 2 year old in that. Only with a 2 year old, they will eventually eat something. Ted will get pretty sickly before he will eat something off his grid. We have had that fight for years.
I am slowly getting my van unpacked from tossing my life in there yesterday. I am also getting ready to bed us down for the night. Sweet dreams all.

Hope you get your van unpacked and put away easily Tina.,,,, dinner was really good - but oh so rich... tummy hurts a little now... but so worth it...

I used to puree all sorts of veggies and hide them in sauces,,, it works really well... even for picky eaters..

I talked to Carrie tonit.. she brought Timba over to print out a pic of a castle.. something for school... had to be in color and she was out of ink again... she said she would go to lunch with us.. Yay! I am glad - she needs some time off.. hope all the boys go to school tomorrow- Fri is a half day for all of them so that will be an incentive..

Well off to my pillows too.. had to watch the first CSI... really like that show.... was a good one too..
next weeks look good too from the preview I just saw...

Nite all!

Good morning...the sun is supposed to shine today, hope it does. This weather gets depressing.

Took DD and baby shopping last night....you know life is boring when you get excited for that monthly trip to WalMart haha

Good morning. Sunny is excited about sunshine and I am excited for my rain. It is a soft, light rain. And won't last the day. But rain is rain and weird for us this time of year.
I will take Ted to school and stop for my new tire to be put on. Then begin shopping for my weekend needs. The rodeo event that I thought was next month is going to pen me in this weekend. It may cause me some issues trying to pass it today. But we will survive it.
I hope everyone has a good Thursday.

I did accomplish my goals this morning. And I decided that lasagna was going to be dinner tonight. With salad and garlic toast on the side. I put the lasagna together this morning before taking off to go pick Teddy up from school. We are home now and I'm going to bake it when I get up from a nap.
It is no longer raining but it was so nice to drive up to my house without clouds of dust following me.

I didn't know what I was having for supper...probably a tuna sandwich.
But...the neighbor just came over with chicken and dumplins, green beans, mashed potatoes and cornbread.

Now my lasagna is not sounding as good. Chicken and dumplings sound better. And I just cooked up 10 pounds of chicken for chicken and dumplings a couple weeks ago. I froze part of that chicken for future meals. So when the lasagna is gone in a couple of days.....
I just put together a whole french loaf with lots of butter and a touch of minced garlic added. It is waiting to go under the broiler when the rest of the meal is about ready. I do not care if anyone else is ready to eat when it and I are ready.

James, is there a reason you can't take the MMR vaccine?

Junie, I love angel food cake. Haven't had it for a while.

Tina, I just finished off a bowl of chicken and dumplings from the crockpot.

Have you ever went and read through the amount of side effects and pure waste goes into them? I've had several mild to severe allergic reactions from vaccines as a child, where they're "extremely rare" according to them, I've had to be hospitalized because of them on more than one occasion...

Yes James, I know about the side effects but I also know what can happen if a person, adult or child, gets measles. Sometimes it's a choice of which is worse. A few years ago at one of my schools a parent who was immunocompromised asked that he be notified of any communicable outbreaks so he could decide if it was necessary to keep his child out of school for a while. Maybe you can talk to your school nurse.

When my oldest got chicken pox, no one else had them. Not the kids at school, nor the kids in Little league, nor the 60 or so kids in her bible class. It came from nowhere.

I had a very long conversation with my peditrician when my youngest (who is now 27) was ready to get her immunizations. With the first set, she was extra lethargic & it scared me, but my Dr assured me that in the long run to get the shots would be better than to not. With the second one she was fine--better than fine----

I am a very strong believer in the immunizations---and james I can see where you would be wary. Were you ever told what you had the reaction to ?? Could you check to see if that is still being put into the shots now a days.

AND speaking of that, I am NOT going to sit with my grandson tomorrow as he has Chicken pox AND Strep Throat. I have no idea where the strep throat came from but the pox (I hear are only on 1 leg) came from his vaccine. I am not afraid of The Chicken Pox, but I am afraid of getting strep. Since my Heart Attack, I am very fearful of getting ANY kind of sick...

Good Night Everyone !! wavy

Good morning. It is going to be a great Friday. Although a bit windy. I will get my last minute shopping done and then hole up for the rest of the weekend. There is plenty to do here to occupy me and mine. In the house and outdoors too.
