I am doing good here, Carol. All are healthy and today is my day to get ready for the school week. Hair and nails are snipped already.
I am watching for the next update from Nana.

Good to hear, Tina--thanks.

We are all ok here as well.

I too am waiting to hear from Nana. In the mean time, I am hanging on to the part where she said she was on high ground.

Sorry,, yes we are on high ground here- about 6200 ft ... and on a hill.. no creeks or rivers close by to overflow.. our sump pump is working hard too its been raining off and on here all day too.. son and his family are okay so far too- he had to fix a gutter in the rain.. so his basement wouldn't flood... his yard has standing water in it... but so far he is doing okay..

It sure has cooled off a lot too... but the humidity is so high feels like we are in the water...

I am making a bunch of chicken tonit, oven frying it .. some for dinner , some for the freezer... that and some scalloped taters will be dinner with a veggie ... made stew last night .. was really good as chilly as it was... going from 90's and hot to this has been a big change.. makes me ache an so slow getting stuff done... hope it doesn't mean we will have a snowy winter but I heard some one predict we would have... one good thing out of all this rain is the resaviors are now full....

Well off to fix the chicken.. carrie wants me to make up a bunch of snack stuff for boys tonit too so hope she brings the mixes over... at least will warm up house with oven going tonit...

Z packs never work for me. I always tell the doc and they want to "try" it first anyway. I've started telling them point blank NO. They don't work so don't call it in. Hope you get straightened out Cindy Lou.

Nana, glad you're on high ground.

yea Cindy--if the Z-pack has not helped by now, It probably is not going to. MY Girls were that way with Amoxil. They just as well have been taking sugar pills.

I hope they can help you at the urgent care. Good Luck.. kissie

I have never had a z pack. Any time I begin feeling under the weather, I use some ASAP. It is a colloidal silver solution. It seems to work on just about everything.

Right now a site called Emergency Essentials has it on sale for about half price. It is all over the internet, places like Amazon too. They may even have some in your local Pharmacy. It really is widely used and safe for you and your pets, etc. Internal and external.

Hello all,

From waterlogged Colorado... I feel so sorry for those people displaced and flooded out of everything.. I sent all the extra stuff I could to a food bank for the shelters .. just so hard to know what else to do but pray....

Good news is it's not raining today... not here anyway- can't watch the news anymore ... it just upsets me to much..

I have the two younger boys today- Derek had a bad sleeping night and couldn't wake up enough to go to school , poor Nicoli had a headache and had to take his knockout stuff so he is so groggy he can't go either.. Timba went but was crying- mostly upset emotionally he is afraid he can't catch up ... but so far no call from school to come get him so hope he found out he is mostly okay- teachers are aware of his prob so they are giving him time to catch up... it's just so overwhelming for him to feel sick cause he is never sick much...

Joe took our cooler out of the window today- we are officially out of summer now.. have to go wash windows now.. hopefully will not rain any time soon so they will stay clean...then bake some cookies for boys snacks too... think I will freeze most of them so they don't snack on them .. it's for school lunches...

Well off with my vinegar and water... newspaper -- gotta get those windows shiny for a little while anyway...LOL!

Have a good day all... say a little prayer for the flood victims if you can- my family are all safe but so many aren't and won't be for quite a while- it may take a yr for roads to be fixed to some of these communities...

Nana

wavy to waterlogged Colorado

sorry for all that is happening out in your beautiful state. I am however glad that you & your family are doing well--well, as well as can be expected. I hope the boys are each better with every passing day. Baking cookies sounds a good pastime & a good distraction.

So glad to hear it is not raining by you today---One day at a time, as they say...

It is sad to see the Summmer end---I just today changed around my PJ's to the fall/winter items---I think I will wait a few days/weeks for the clothes change over--it does still slike I just did that for summer.. rolz

Prayers being said... prayers prayers

I don't change over much for summer/winter. I wear thin sweats for summer and thick ones for winter. I also leave my coolers set up. When I begin to burn wood, I will cover the windows/coolers to help keep drafts out. But that is about it.
The day is pretty much done except for dinner things. It is my nap time.

I do not even know where to look for rating a topic. Everything else that I do is working normally, though.

I just tried it in the current CH and It worked for me...

Tina--the "rate this topic" is at the top left side of the topic, at the very beginning of them-----same area that you would go to start a new topic. BUT I will say I could not find it on all threads/topics.

Sweet dreams all. It was a long day. I have my patio cleaned up. I have more rearranging to do but I can move in there now. And I can do it without raising clouds of dust with each step. My older son had moved a lot of stuff into that outdoor room.

I guess I will be home for a few days---The car needs work & my mechanic can't get to it for at least a week----so while he says I can drive it, I am thinking I had better not.

Thankfully my sister took me shopping today to get a shower gift for her son's fiance. The Bridal Shower is on Sunday....

Good Morning...

Thanks Tina----WE should be getting a new car---I told my DH we should be on our 3rd car since buying this one---bad mistake on my part. he was upset. This economy has done a number on us--we will not be getting another one--well unless I dont understand something. So fix this one we will. why
\
We also think that back last month when we got a new radiator we really just needed this done---so we spent that money for nothing---Rod is not happy.

I do so need to go places today---I wish I was brave enough to go ahead & drive the Blazer. And I HATE driving the truck--it is big & not easy to manuver---oh well---Welcome to my life....

I have never bought a new car. All of mine have been used. The closest I ever got was my current van. I bought a 2006 in 2008. I will drive it until it is no longer economical to fix and drive. Then look for another like it.
My day is done. I like the weather we are having. I didn't need to turn on my coolers at all. And I will nap comfortably.

Tina: The one new car I have ever had is the 13+ yr old car I am driving now---DH has had 6--(if you count the one we have now)...

soon I will go finish Rod's dinner. Then I will wait until marie is done eating supper so I can go fix up her pills for the week.--Then I will be home for the night.

A note on Target:
My nephew is getting married & target is on place they registered. SO I went there yesterday & printed out their registry--well 4 pages printed out on 2 pieces of paper---I could hardly read it--so as a result I bought a small vase instead of the larger one that was more expensive. if I had of bought the larger one that would have saved them some $$$___I am SOOO angry with Target----I would exchange it but I will not drive the car until it is fixed...Which is not for a week or more---

Good news is the weather here is cooler as well & more comfortable sleeping for us too--

I've had several new Honda's. My daughter totaled 1, I traded a few for another Honda, but the last one I kept for 12 years then sold it and got another new Honda in 2011 then traded it for another new Honda in 2012. The next car I get is going to be a Dodge Charger. Johnny says I'll get a ticket for sure.
