Had this plant since the spring and it's now randomly blooming even though they don't last long at all. Woth it getting chilly here in WV, USA.. I was just wondering when do I bring it in? Also, some of the tips are burnt. How can I prevent that?

Hello>

Since the Purple Queen grows best in a tropical climate where temperatures do not drop below 35*F I think I would make sure to bring it in well before there is any danger of your temperatures going below that 35 degrees.

Since it is good to prune the PQ, first I think I would remove the leaves (or areas) that have this browning.
The cause could well be over watering...as these plants do not need frequent watering, but can go long periods w/o watering.--so perhaps consider letting the soil in the pot dry out between watering to see if that takes care of the issue once you remove the leaves that have browned tips.

But I would ask first---does the plant seem to be healthy otherwise...?

I brought the plant inside before it got close to <35 degrees outside and it seems to be doing pretty good. I have it in the bathroom now and instead of growing bushy the stems are growing straight up. Is this normal? Any suggestions for this time of the year and keeping it inside?
