Diane,,,

Do they not have water for them to drink.... my kids always had water available in Az in those temps and higher... seems like the school could arrange donations for it if they can't afford it... schools here get water free for sports teams... that's not healthy for them.... just say'n .. heatstroke is nothing to fool around with ... and it comes on fast; even in young kids... bet the coach has water..... I would call anyway.... can't be only parent worrying about their child....

yes Diane I agree, call and find out what the regs are on this---I am thinking that there has to be a number where if the heat (or the index) is so high the kids are not allowed to practice--but coaches being coaches, will push the envelope to get a heads up over the next team, if no one stops them. Is there a way to find out what the regulations are on kids practicing in the heat ?? at very least they should provide water/gatorade for the kids. I understand that Tre does not want to seem like a "cry baby" to the other kids, but.....

---I'm with Nana---I would be real concerned about heat stroke.

It is hot here too. They do have modified practices for students when it goes into triple digits. We used to be able to go to the parks and college and flip on the lights to play tennis on hot summer nights.
i loved that.
I have been uncomfortably warm. Of course I am most comfortable when it is between 70-80*. At about 70* I'm looking around for a sweatshirt to put on. And 80* is too hot to get comfortable.
I am looking forward to the long weekend. One more day.

I am looking forward to the weekend too.
I had thought that I was going to be home alone all weekend--but nope---

Saturday, my youngest has called me up & asked us to come & help her with getting some things done in her house because she is hosting a 1st birthday party for her little one in a week.--I intend to try to steam clean the dark stain off of her ceramic floor in the kitchen.

Then Saturday night, we are going out to lunch with some friends & then to a night club to see another friend who is in the house band there.

now, if I could just get someone to have something for me to do on sunday & Monday--- shewinks

I have not done much to brag about. It is too hot and muggy to move much. I got Ted to school and shopped for any weekend needs I may have missed yesterday. I took my older son for an appointment he had in town and dumped him off to fend for himself. I picked Teddy back up and we are home. My swamp coolers don't work very well in high humidity. It may be too warm to nap very well but I am going to try.

I have not ever looked upon your posts as bragging, tina.

In this heat, I think we al need to think about our bodies first & then see what we "need" to do next---

I agree Barb---shopping out this weekend will not be any fun....I got a few items that I will need for next week, and I was thinking like you--I sure did not want to go on Sunday or Monday---

I try to keep one extra of some things on hand, so that does not happen..it makes Rod crazy--but yet if he needs something, I should have it. why

I keep spares on hand of most of my daily use items. And when I see empties going into the trash, I pick up more the next time I'm out. Usually 2 if it has a long shelf life. So one goes in the trash and two more pop up on the shelves along with prior spares I have purchased. That means I have several jars of, say mayo, parked in the pantry.
My thing is being prepared to hunker down and eat what I have on hand for a while. Maybe it is because I live in earthquake country or something.

yeah I always keep 2 mayo, ketchup, mustard, syrup, and always taco seasoning pkgs, and canned biscuits. I never have less than two of those things at all times. Even when I didn't have the boys yet same thing. Oh and always have a dozen eggs on hand as well.

Here it is Friday night looks like Julian has already adapted to the school schedule, he feel asleep @ 8 pm tonight, and Breyton is laying down, Tre on the other hand took a nap after school and will probably be up til 1 or 2. lol

Did you get any more haying done, Sunny?
It did not rain more today. At least not yet. It could still but it doesn't look like it so much. The little bit we got has dried up already and left us even steamier. Ick!

Well plans changed for the day. I wasn't going to do anything. BUT,,,,, Now potato salad and deviled eggs are made. Ribs are on the smoker,( got at least another 3 hours for them),, I made a "sock it to me" cake, baked beans in the oven, chkn wings are marinating. Zuchinni, onions, bell peppers, all olive oiled and season down- wrapped in foil and ready for the small grill when I put hotdogs, hot links, and hamburgers on. I won't have to cook for 3 days after this haha Sounds like a plan to me notme thumbup
These boys are helping and liking it! I told Tre' next time he is in charge of the smoker,, the sooner he learns the better!!
* time to send him out to put more wood in it *

That's something I could not get adapted to , OUtdoor cooking, an grilling. I hate to clean it up ....Son an wife bought us a new grill an I never did use it.. I gave it back to them after HD passed on.

Have a good time with the kids while your able.. Your generous.

All I did was made 3 pies.. Blueberry, apple an peach.

I am trying to think of dinner mode now.LOL
