Jimmy and I got our purple daturas at the same time, Mine has finally bloomed with several buds on it now. This is the first bloom. It's supposed to be only a double petaled, turned out to be a triple bloom. I took a night and day picture both ways it looks amazing clap

sorry this is so late, Barb--I should really read ALL of a post. blush

the Surprise lily has several names: Surprise lily, Magic lily, Naked Lady
or (Lycoris squamigera) if you prefer. They belong to the amaryllis family. It is a fall blooming flower and it has no seed pods. You plant bulbs to grow them.

sorry about the notice to your computer. My DH got upset with the cost of my Norton antivirus & so my SIL installed "Microsoft security essentials", which is free. I do not really care for it, and in my opinion it is just a bit better than nothing. why But I will say my OS has it's own set of security and it seems to be watching rather closely so I do not really know what to tell you. I hope everything is ok.

My other SIL was supposed to give me a antivirus that he uses at his work supposoedly somewhat like Norton--it is free to him and he is allowed to share--but I have yet to see that happen yet.

no, you misunderstand, barb--it is one plant with 3 different names.

I have no idea about being a mole exterminator. BUt hwe had Moles galore at the farm & they did not eat these lilies, so there is that.

There do not produce seeds, but it is time for me to dig them up to divide the bulbs and I can send you some. I would be happy to do that.

No I do not do that--but every so many years one needs to dig them up & divide them, & as luck would have it this is the year---- applaud

have you tried dropping castor beans down the holes? or better yet planting castor beans...they are pretty plants & will keep moles away from an area--I always grew them on thne front of my veggie garden. Try that next year--if nothing else, they are pretty. AND as a bonus, they make lots of seeds for dropping down holes...

Lynne : here is the Hoya cuttings that you have sent me. Look how well it is doing:

[Linked Image]

Here is the hoya start that Dodge sent me. It is doing really well also. I rotated it in my photobucket, but it didnt turn.. why:

[Linked Image]
Here is a combination of the cactus cuttings that Barb & Lynne sent to me...I combined them, to make a fuller pot..In the beginnings there were just a few small cuttings from each of them:

Carol - your plants look VERY healthy!!! Interesting how my hoya looks like it has splashes on the leaves, while Dodge's looks more like dots. Both look great, as do the cacti!

Thanks, Ladies...

Barb--yes it has bloomed---several times..pale pink flowers--very delicate looking to my notion.

Lynne---Yes it is fun to see the differences of the 2 Hoya's--now if "they" would just bloom for me.

I used to have an oxalis. I put it outside and it gave up the ghost. Love them.

[Linked Image]
Love the little faces on pansies.

[Linked Image]
The gerbers are hanging in through the cold and the snow.

[Linked Image]
still have lots of leaves

[Linked Image]
I started this geranium from a dead stalk with no roots. Just stuck it in the dirt and now it's blooming. It's made it through the cold and snow too.

I'm surprised about that geranium. I just didn't want to clean out that pot so I stuck a stick that looked totally dead into the soil and left it. I never dreamed it would grow and bloom.
