This plant has been growing amongst my prickly pear cactus all summer and I finally dug it out yesterday and put it in my "nursery" under my deck stairs. Any clue what it is? It has such odd shaped leaves!

OK! Just answered my own question - it's a Tulip Poplar. I do believe my across the street neighbor has a VERY tall/large one in her front yard, but I've never seen it flower. Will have to go over today and look at the leaves! If that is what it is, I am going to baby it!!! The flowers look so nice and I do not see this tree in our area at all!

Well I'm not sure if I will have this tree after all. We had another heavy rainstorm last night and today it is wilted and the leaves are turning brown. I guess time will tell...

and speaking of prickly pear cactus flwr do the deer eat them? My sister lives in WV and says the deer love her prickly pear cactus and she doesn't know how to keep them out of them.
