Good morning! have had lots of rain here in the last few days. Flash flood warning out till Saturday. The lake was actually over the bulk head and in my yard yesterday. Only the second time that has happened since I moved here 5 years ago.

Hope you get your nap, Cindy. I got up a little early to run in the cooler temps. Too bad cooler temps mean higher humidity. It was a great run though, the best I've had in a long time. Now I'm getting ready to spend the day with one of my favorite clients. Hope everyone has a great day!

Trey's lucky I'm a nice understanding dad; he opened a limited edition collectable that was worth a little $ just because he wanted to put it together...

I'm up so much earlier than I normally am during the summer lol...

Morning ..

James you are a good dad... things we collect are just things... I rememebe when hubby's Mom decided to clean out her closet.. her boys all collected baseball cards and left them at her house as each left... there are 5 boys.. she found the cards and gave them away to neighborhood kids at the time... needless to say they were not happy campers.. they dated back to the 50's.. she didn't have a clue some of them were very valuable but then again the boy shouldn't have left them either....LOL!
I am still working on the weighted blanket- along with dd's help.. takes at least 4 people to do this.. have one more seam on machine and will hand finish.. it looks pretty good so far and sure hope he likes it cause it's a big project...

Well off to get get some cleaning done.. have spilled beads in my carpet and kitchen.. vacuum will get them up I hope... didn't spill to often but they are tiny!

We are having strange weather here for Aug.. it snowed on Telluride yesterday- just a dusting but it was visable.. and this morning we had fog.. it's really cool too... and breezy... may rain later which should help our grass some too...

Have a good day !
Nana

Sounds good, Nana. Please remember to post a picture of your blanket before it disappears into the mist of grandsons.
We have had very mild weather too. Unseasonably cool for us. I am hoping I'm not jinxing the situation by even typing that.
It has been a long morning and I am ready to snooze a bit. At least stretch and rest my bones.

Hi Sunny,

Still morning here but will be afternoon soon enough... it's nice here actually cool and rained last night, yay no watering for us... saving on running the cooler and water bill.. double Yay!

DD is coming over today to help sew last seam on blanket and then will hand sew rest an it will be done... will wash it and give it to Derek...
Carrie enrolled Timba in the middle school yesterday, he is officially a 7th grader... wasn't he just a baby? Time flies! Nicoli is repeating second grade - missed to much school with all the tummy problems... so far so good with keeping the problems away... he will have same teacher so she knows what to watch for with him... and Derek is excited about going to new school- it was his decision to go so he is really looking fwd to doing well..
Well off to get ready to sew ... have a good day all!

I have high hopes for you, Cheryl. Good luck.
It is sad that my first thought, after "what wonderful weather", is thinking about saving money on my electric bill for cooling. But it is a secondary silver lining.
I think you are doing a pretty good job helping your grandchildren along, Nana.
I have worked on my hillside and debris a bit and have a helper here to do some of the heavy work.
I am deciding what to tuck into the crockpot towards dinner and leftovers for the weekend.

Well, coming to the end of my week without the girl in the California office. I have been doing both my job and hers this week, so really looking forward to her vacation being a done deal. I haven't had a vacation in 4 yrs, so think it will be my turn next!

Nana-Please don't forget to take that picture of this blanket you've been working on for all of us to see, can't wait...wait...weight...get it?? haha

Diane, you do get up early, don't you? Do you still get up that early on weekends too?

Sleep has always been my friend. I really enjoy sleeping in till at least 8am or even a little later on weekends. I know you guys probably think that is way to late to be in bed, but it is 2:55 here now and my eyes are soooo heavy.

Well, I will get back to work for about 1 hr, if I'm lucky, and then call it a done deal.

Happy Afternoon Everyone!

My goodness he is going to be a very big man.. is he still growing? Must cost a small fortune to keep him in shoes..

Wish I could send you some of our weather.. it's only in the 80's this week.. so nice... even rained a while again today ...
I can't handle the heat very well either so know how you feel ..

Well have to go make some dinner for us- it's spaghetti night.. easy and fast ...

yes he is still growing Dr said may another 2-3" yet to go. Shoes he wears a 14 pants 34-36 w and 36 L. depending on the manufacturer. He doesn't want to get any taller, he said he's done with it ,, Told him he didn't have a choice lol
He's always liked to hang with me in the Kitchen since he was little. He says he wants to be a Chef but he doesn't like cutting foods up yeah;;; let's see how that works out haha Thanks for the compliment Nana, it makes it all worth it

Oh my, well you won't need a ladder for as long as he is around!

He can be a chef... but if he doesn't want to cut stuff up he will need a sous chef to do that part...LOL! Who knows maybe culinary school is in his future... it's always good if you can get a job doing what you like...

I am lucky tonit hubby is making dinner... I am so sore from hauling that blanket and hand sewing it he took pity on me and said he would cook... I weighed the blanket and it weighs 9 lbs.. a little over what I was aimimg for but not to much for him- he is growing fast...

well off to take a hot bath to soak my achy bones...

and Diane it's not just a compliment its fact you are an awesome Grandmother, Dad, and Mom to those boys.
Nana

Congrats Cheryl on your new Job, I agree benefits are key,but also a good work environment makes it easier to get up and go to work thumbup
Nana so happy to hear Joe cooked for you last night clap awesome hubby you have there!

I layed down around 7ish last night and told the boys if I drift off to sleep wake me at 8.
I remember them trying to wake me, But I continued to sleep til 9:15 this morning, over 12 hours sleep! shock
I felt so exceptionally exhausted all week. I don't know if the heat was a contributing factor or what, but my muscles ached my back ached, and was totally zapped of any energy all work week long. Co workers were even telling me, Dang You look so tired! what's wrong,?? why I didn't know I just felt so tired and wanted to sleep, so that's what I did. zoink

You must have really needed it, Diane. Good morning everyone. I'm getting ready to head out for work in about a half an hour. We had a thunderstorm last night, woke me up briefly. I'm hoping there will be none during the day so that I can go for a two mile run this afternoon. Tomorrow morning I have a race then tomorrow evening I have a book club picnic to attend. I haven't met up with this book club yet so I'm both nervous and excited.

Diane I am very glad you got some well needed rest you sounded give out yesterday morning when I talked to you. My heart DR. called me in because he was worried how I was holding up in this heat said everything looked good but to stay out of the heat if I could. Wish you could stay out of the heat but know how hard that is to do.

Minnie Mouse is a wonderful theme,Sunny. I hope you have a great time as well.
Good Sunday to all. I have already been out moving brush down from my hillside. It is beginning to heat up to more like or normal August now. Working in the cool is best.

Good noon time to everyone...I just came in from working in my yard. Started when it was in the lower 70's this morning and now it is 81. This part of the yard is in direct sun this time of day, so I came in to cool down.

Was pulling weeds, but think I will get back out there to spray, as that is not too hard to do. I still need to put something on my rose bushes for bugs and maybe something to fertilize them.

I also need to identify a weed that may be poison oak, silly that I don't know what it looks like. I will go to the internet next and check it.

One year I moved into a house and started cleaning the yard. There was a big vine that had overtaken a really pretty bush, took me all day to dig it up and pull it off this bush. It wasn't long before I thought I had gotten into chiggers, had bumps all over me and itched like crazy. Doctor with chigger stuff, then they started blistering and doing yucky stuff, went to doctor and yes it was poison oak...how stupid of me. I can't seem to keep in my head what those plants look like. If I liked tattoo's I put a pic of them on me somewhere. Just so I could identify the plant.

Back to work. That is after I identify that plant.

That plant is a Virginia Creeper with 5 leaves...unlike the Poison Ivy with 3 leaves. I got it now, 3 leaves, let it be! bow

yep Mary three leaves let it be. Too bad we didn't have a thread here about poison oak, summac, and ivy, would be a good reference to remind us all to be careful. Every year I have to RE look it up to refresh my memory what they look like. boohoo
