A friend of mine told me this a while ago,,,

"Did my good deed for the day. I found a very dehydrated Mississippi Kite on the ground next to my Mother's house. It let me pick it up. It's tongue was hanging out. Fortunately, the car was there, so I had Joyce open the door and drive us to the Wild Bird Rescue. The bird didn't try fighting or flapping in the car, but felt very content watching me. When we got there, we found out we were the 7th rescue of Kite's today."

John and Joyce live in Wichita falls Tx. I immediately went out side and filled the bird bath again. We must look out for our feathered friends thumbup

When me and Bill were in South Dakota at a rest stop there were several birds like that...dying of thirst. It was way over 100 degrees and a hot wind blowing. Bill found a spot in the parking lot that was hollow from cars parking there in the heat, making a place where we could pour our cold bottled water out for them, and he carried them over to the water. They drank immediately.
Don't have to worry about that here...it's not hot, in the 80's, but humid, and raining for several days. But I always keep clean water in the bird bath and food for them.
