What a chatty bunch over the weekend lol

We had bad storms all weekend...

We had severe winds, and were on a tornado watch. We were lucky..only had some roofing damage this time. I swear the weather gets crazier here with each passing year.

I am eying my napping sofa but I have to go back out and stop at one store before picking Ted up from school. Then I can come home and nap before plumbing in my kitchen.

Good afternoon. Had a pretty good day at work but I'm tired. Our heat is back, not as bad as most of you but hot for us. Debating whether or not I want to go for a run.

I decided not to take that one. God a bad vibe about it. They basically just hired me in a hurry, on the spot and seemed a little shady to me. I have another interview at a more reputable place tomorrow afternoon. Don't worry, I never over do it in the heat, I'm careful and bring water.

I tried one of those once... I couldn't sleep with someone watching me; and once i finally got to sleep I only slept for about an hour which wasn't long enough to really do anything...

Here in Portland they have a clinic that lets you bring the equipment home, you sleep, then you bring it back and they analyze it...

I've always thought I would have trouble sleeping for one of those. As I don't have much trouble sleeping in general, I have not needed to do this. I don't snore unless I have a pretty drastic cold and I don't have apnea, according to people who have watched me sleep.
And all of this sleep talk has made me want to nap. So that is my next plan.

I go Monday night for the sleep study. I have sleep apnea very bad...so bad that the doctor that tried to get the tube down my throat at the hospital 2 weeks ago and couldn't because my throat kept closing up has called me to make sure I am getting this done. And I didn't know she called the doctor at the sleep clinic after I told her I had an appointment for the 6th to talk to him about it. When he looked down my throat today he said my glands were so swelled up from the Sjogrens Syndrome he didn't know how I could eat.

I'm not worried about the sleep study...I can't sleep anyway so it will be just another night of tossing and turning, then I will get a CPAP machine and have to get used to that at home...my dad made me take his home last night. It was pretty nice having moist air blown in my mouth all night, but the mask and tubing will take some getting used to.

Diane...I saw your recipe. It sounds good.

Diane, I too saw your recipe and it does look scrumptious, can't wait to try it. What fish did you have with it? Sorry if you said, but to tired to go back and look. Had a really hard day at work.
Cindy, I just hope all of this doctor stuff you are having to deal with work for you and you can sleep. I snore now as I have gained weight...I never used to snore, didn't start until I gained weight. Snoring keeps me up at night, because my husbands elbow seems to stick in my side all night!!! lol

Cindy sure hope the machine works for you,,, when you get used to it I bet it helps you rest..

I worked more on the weighted blanket today.. first we met our oldest for breakfast.. she came home with us and helped me fill the pockets on the blanket with the beads, one row at a time and then held it up so the beads stayed in place while I sewed... we got 4 rows done today... and 11 more to do... then I will make the fleece cover and put it on.. hopefully he will like it and it will serve the purpose for Derek..

Joe went out to meet some co workers for awhile - a retirement party, can't wait till we can have one for him...

Well off to finish up the last load of laundry and finish watching Who do You Think You Are..

I read back to Coffee House 2417 to see what Nana said about washing the weighted blanket and yes it is washable, but Nana, what is this blanket for again? And what kind of beads are you putting in it?

Mary, Nana has a grandson with sleep issues and general anxiety. Sometimes a weighted blanket can sooth things before they get out of hand. Much like bundling a baby can sooth them when they get cranky. It is worth a try and a better solution than meds if it works.
I was wondering what type of beads as well.
Sweet dreams all. It is my school week bedtime.

Yes it is washable,, it is for my grandson Derek.. he has sensory issues and learning disabilities.. as well as anxiety issues.. he is 10 right now.. and in 5th grade.. the beads are polyesterene.. usually used for stuffed toys and dolls... the blanket helps a person with these issues.. helps them focus and feel calmer.. Derek does things like hang with his head down.. it's his way of making himself feel better.. I don't mind when he does it on my couch but he likes to do it on my stairwell too and I always think he will slide down and bang his head on the tile floor... the blankets can also be used by people with restless leg syndrome... I am kind of doing this on my own- did read about how to do it on pinterest and that gave me good ideas.. but didn't tell me I would need 2 more hands to fill the pockets and hold it while I sew it.. so my oldest dd is coming back over tomorrow to help me finish the blanket .. it will weigh about 9 lbs when it's done..

It has cooled off here quite a bit...wishing I could send you some rain.

I love a heavy weighted blanket..it really does help with anxiety. I made a quilt with a sewn in pillowcase and I tuck my feet in the pillowcase to keep the blanket wrapped around me. I'm strange, I know lol

Hoping Cheryl does great on the interview.

BTW: I forgot to say welcome to Mary flwr

Good morning, Actually sewing the pillow case to the blanket was a good idea, Sunny. I hate cold feet. I hate cold hands too. In winter time I usually have a towel or baby blanket handy to cover whichever arm I have hanging out above my head and blankets.
It is going to be a lovely Wednesday. I cannot believe our moderate weather. I will accept the gift for what it is, though.

Nana, not sure what to say to explain what I am thinking. I will just say, you are a good person.

Sunflowers, thank you for saying welcome...everyone has been so nice.

Diane, I feel so bad for you and my sister. The temps in the Dallas area have been so bad and here is just so nice these last few days. Lots of rain and humidity, but the heat has been way down.

Shirley, if you've been awake since 4am, bet your asleep now!

Cindy, hope your day went well and you sleep tonight.

Good night to all.

I will be glad when this work week is over and the admin girl comes back off vacation.
I''m tired.
