Last week was my 40th high school reunion, and I wasn't able to go.
Yesterday on FB was many pictures of those that went. For years I've been looking for a couple of people, especially since I got on FB.
Yesterday a co cheerleader with me responded to one of the pictures of the reunion. I have often wondered where she was, etc. Long story short I in boxed her. She is so happy I made contact.
I found out she is living in Dallas, and has been for 30 years! We have been in the same metroplex for almost 20 years! shock
She couldn't remember my last name(maiden). She keep thinking it was Robertson or Robberson, and had looked for me too. lol
We were on the same basketball, valleyball, track and field team as well as cheerleaders.
We are planning on having a Saturday Lunch to get reacquainted.
I'm so excited to see her and learn what she's been doing that last 40 years nooo
Amazing we saw each other respond to the pictures of our HS reunion! grin
Next reunion is in 5 years,, we are already talking of riding together to Ks for that one. hifive

I went to my class' 10 year a couple of years ago; showed up with 3 of my female friends and everyone kept joking that I brought 3 dates with me... Forced all of them to be social, introduced the one of them that I actually had a thing for to all of my old friends; everyone i went with forgot how social I could be, especially when I know everyone in a room lol.

[Linked Image] check out my Freshman HS photo lol...

Wow Diane.. that's really neat to reconnect with your friend like that... glad for you!

We got a lot of errands done today and then sat outside for awhile in backyard and watched a little bird eat sunflower seeds.. have a bunch of them growing in my side yard.. didn't plant them but we left them to grow... tiny little black bird with a yellow belly just ate as much as it could.. I don't know what kind of bird it is but sure was busy.

Well off to start some taters baking... and get grandsons sheets out of dryer... long as I was doing laundry I thought I would do his too... nice Nana that I am...LOL!

Nana, you do so much for your family. They must be awfully spoiled!

I made the mistake of going to my 20th high school reunion (18 years ago)...haven't been to any since and never will again. Long story...and too many idiots drinking and acting like they were back in high school.

Glad you got hooked back up with your friend, Diane. thumbup

I live in the same town as my high school but haven't attended one reunion. My husband even taught at it and I was an aide there. Funny stuff. But I have friends left over from the olden days and I am good with that.
Long day and tomorrow is going to be another.

So sorry you had a bad experience with your reunion Cindy,, sometimes it takes others a longer time to grow up egad besides that was 20 years ago, I'm sure they've grown up by now.
I can't imagine why one wouldn't want to go see old school friends especially when so many of them move out of state and it's hard to stay in touch unless they were very very close and made sure they did stay in touch. On the other hand if one lived in a smaller town and saw your old school chums a lot there really wouldn't be anything to catch up on, it would be more like a huge picnic, instead of getting reacquainted and catching up. I want to go,, want to see everyone, I think it would a great throwback party, and conversation, at my age I'm sure everyone would behave at a 45th reunion. notme lol

Me, too. Before I got so sick I would meet high school friends for lunch sometimes, actually up to a year ago I met one of my best friends from high school every Wednesday evening and we would go somewhere to have a salad. But, I rarely drive anymore so I don't get out much.

good Morning,, really wanted to sleep in, But,,
Doggies needed out.
Tre has a Summer Tennis Tournament today.[Linked Image] Because he is now a varsity tennis player he is required to play in no less than two tournaments in the summer to be eligible to stay on the varsity team. Good thing they are on Saturdays, He wouldn't have a ride to any during the week since I work.
I hope it stays over cast( right now it's very cloudy but muggy out).
Hoping it doesn't get to terribly hot for the players. If the sun comes out it's going to be horribly steamy boohoo

Been a decent day here, not as hot as it has been. But, I stayed inside in the chair most of the day, then cooked up some garden stuff a neighbor brought me. I love fried green tomatoes better than about anything, but they do a number on my guts these days. boohoo

it has been a beautiful day here. And as it is supposed to rain the next 3 days, I went out today and deadheaded, weeded & cut back some of my flowers, herbs, & weggie garden.

I got 5 or was it 6,--- 7 gallon containers stuffed over-full of weeds, dead headed pieces & cuttings. WOW--such a lot done---YAY !!!

I am sorry, Cindy. I hope your guts recover quickly from you indulgences.
I have not yet eaten tonight. I need to work on that.
Today I had most of my kids here to celebrate my oldest's 41st birthday. We girls went through all of my old jewelry with the stories behind them. It was fun. Then I napped hard. This time next week we will be getting ready for back to school the next day.

On the reunion talk; they had ours at a night club; most of us where confused as we're not "clubby"... In fact we approached the people who planned it and informed them that they need to choose a venue for everyone next time...

They thought they where doing us a favor with a "your ticket gets you a free drink" notice, but most of us didn't drink, or just got a soda...

Not to mention, what if you DID drink ??---1 ticket does not save you any real money---- rolz

Our "whole School Reunion" is held in a large Ball room...It has all the trappings of a wedding reception & the same feel, only it is a reunion. I assume there are prizes----BUT the main point is you can drink, or not, dance or not, & eat---or not----so it seems to work for everyone---at least so they say, I have just heard stories & seen pictures...

The night club thing does sound a bit strong, I must say...not to mention expensive.. why

Good morning.

Diane, so sorry for the bad heat that is headed your way again.

Sunny, the rain is a good thing, now if it would only let up long enough for you to weed the garden, that would work out well. A wet soil will relinquish its weeds so much easier.

stranded home today, so I think I will begin to clean my house.--It surely needs it.

Yes, houses tend to do that. I am working my way through mine again. I do need to shovel the dirt out once in awhile just to remain comfortable.
Today, though, it is outdoor work. I want to take advantage of the unseasonable coolness. We won't hit even 90* today.

Afternoon all,

Well I got something accomplished today... worked my &&&& off yesterday cleaned the whole carpeted part of the house... even with Joe home to cart it up and down stairs it was tiring..
today I went over to Carrie's - gave Derek his pill .. and checked on other two boys .. they caught the bad cold Joseph had but are over it now it seems.. cleaned up her kitchen while I was there .. came home and vacuumed rooms that didn't get done yesterday- mopped kitchen and started laundry... now have to figure out something for dinner... chicken something I think... it's been cloudy most of the day and cool ... sun is out now though so it feels sticky and humid ... it rained a lot yesterday and day before so that was nice... yard it almost green again ... we have one spot by front door step and sidewalk the water just runs off of.. think I am going to get Joe to dig out the grass and add some brick flat around it and plant some flowers there next yr.. grass looks terrible there and flowers at least will bloom and look nice with out as much water... less grass for him to mow too...

Well off to put kitchen back together.. and thaw out some chicken... have a good evening all!

Whew you make me tired just reading about all that you do,, bottle up some of the energy and send me some Nana
Funny you say that bout less grass for him to mow.
Dwight alway got upset with me for planting more and more flowers, One day he said NO MORE flowers! I reminded him how he hated to mow,, and that the more flowers the less area to mow,, If I had my way it would just be stoned walking paths and plants and flowers out there with NO grass to mow at all,,,, He said,,Soooo What flowers are you planting next??? notme haha

I wish I could bottle up what energy I have to keep when I don't have much... my granddaughter called today , she made it to 32 weeks so far and they want her to get to 36 at least so she is still on bedrest... bored but doing okay she says... I found a blanket making kit at JoAnn's yesterday in pink and black.. its hearts .. and another one with soccer balls and flags on it for Derek's weighted blanket.. buying the kits was cheaper than buying the fleece by the yard...
so tomorrow I start cutting and pinning...
Now Joe likes to mow so that is my problem but he gets so frustrated by the dead part he wo;; do it for me but will have to be next spring .. to late this year... it's been so very hot till the last couple days... we got a few sprinkles today but not enough yet... seems to go around us every day...
Well off to make some dinner... I am hungry- think I skipped lunch today...

Busy day today. But I need to take advantage of any cool days we have. I think we are breaking coolness records for these dates. A lot got done today. I am pretty happy with it. And I saw a bobcat strolling down my back road today, He/she decided to go up the hill instead of walking right past me. They are only usually out in the cooler evenings and early mornings. Not strolling down the road in the afternoon. I do like most of the cat wildlife here.
