Not sure if this is the right forum, as I don't think this is a pest, but...not sure what it is. Never seen one before, but could not get a picture. This is what it looked like:

Wings like a hummingbird, really fast and never stopped. Even as it drank from my flowers, just hovered and the wings were going just like a humming bird.

head and body sort of fat like a bumblebee and if I remember correctly, color might have been yellow and black, but not sure

antennae on head like a snail...2 stuck out from head, thick and black

bottom of body, where a bumble bee would have a "stinger" this had feathery looking stuff that spread across bottom like a skirt??

I didn't see the legs, but my husband did and said the legs were like an insect.

Any idea what this could have been? I have never seen one of these before. We live in lake of the ozarks, MO.
