My daughter is in the storm path...but she and Jeremy have good sense and they take Brennan and the pets to their basement if it starts getting bad,
When it's bad here I like to take a nap in front of the 6' glass window. (I am so sleep deprived, and storms help me sleep...) Last year it missed me by 1/4 of a mile and killed many of my neighbors and people in my town. It devastated my mom's farm...they are still cleaning up from it, Half their forest was flattened.

Cindy, so sorry to hear about Rachel & the storm's path--but so glad that Jeremy will take good care of them and that you know that he will--It makes a Momma/Granny worry less.

Now, about YOU !! You have a basement--you need to go down there when the weather is bad----you can hear the storm down there & sleep there as well as upstairs. We need you here, and I am sure that Rachel & Brennan need you too.

I am on my way to bed soon. We are supposed to have severe weather, but it is 11:22 pm & so far nothing--it is just hot & quiet...nite-nite

Good Morning,, another hot day in store for us looks like summer is here now.
Wish we had basements here, best we can do is get in an closet and cover our selves.
Cindy.. Carol is right go to your basement where its safer,, I sure wouldn't be by a window, unless it's just raining, but not when you're under a tornado warning, even straight line winds could bust that window boohoo

Rachel just got hit again with the storms. We are getting them soon, they have passed Lexington and headed this way....it's already dark and windy outside. I just put my truck in the garage and bungeed down the trash can.
Looks like it's about nap time!

Well latest on our big fire... is 350 + houses gone to ash... and no containment at all... we went to bed late last night... about 10:30 and air was okay outside so we left cooler on... I woke up a little later and thought at first we were on fire... smoke was so heavy in house.. came down and shut down cooler and took fans out of windows... was bad.... still having trouble breathing and Joe too... we both sound like we have been 30 yr smokers this morning... they are telling us on the news to stay inside with ac on- well don't have ac so will do what I can with what I have... my heart is really heavy for the people who have lost their homes and the ones who don't know yet what has happened to theirs.. they say we will have another day of heat and winds.. maybe t-storms too which if it just rained it would be good but lightning comes with them and we don't need that....

praying rain comes and helps the firefighters...

OH Sherri, that is horrible---I do so hope that you and yours are ok--and that the burning area will soon have some heavy rains. At least enough to put out the fires. prayers

Nana,, Please be careful,, to be staying there and having to breath air in that condition is so dangerous,, Please please be ready to leave should it get worse. My Friend left,, she packed up and went to Ks( she is originally from there we went to school together) to stay with her sister until all is cleared, she couldn't handle the smoke anymore. She took all important papers and all her photos with her her lap top and and anything she felt was not replaceable, loaded her suv and hit the road, Two people she worked with lost their homes near the royal gourge bridge soooo sad!

this is that area,,

She doesn't believe her house is in danger of burning but the smoke was unbearable .. Just happened to be her vacation time, but she hadn't planned on going anywhere this year,, for the first time in several years she was just going to stay home or take a day and go to the mountains to go horseback riding,,, sad to say that's not what she is going to do now .

Diane,, I am glad your friend got out too... better to be safe than sorry... it is such a tragedy for all those people... but as I heard one of them say today on the news... when you live up there you know it can happen and you do what you can to protect your property ... some of them put sprinklers on their roofs to keep them wet down and wet down all they could around their property but those are really big houses up here... so sad....

The smoke is better tonight- we aren't running the cooler though cause it's cooler and really windy so it could change direction and bring us the smoke again- no rain today here at all...

We aren't hearing much about the fire at the gorge at all.. that was going to be one of our weekend trips this summer but guess we will do it later on...

We are still going up to Estes for the weekend- we need a vaca , even for just a couple days.. air up there should be better too... they have a fire in the National Forest up there but it's smaller and on the other side of the divide ... so no smoke - supposed to be cool and cloudy up there too ...

Well heading to bed and try to sleep ... nite all... think I am the last so hitting the lights and setting the coffee pot for 6am for all you early risers...
Nana

YES !! TGIF--and it's beautiful outside---only thing is, the DH is home because he took the day off to get ready for "his" yard sale.....and he keeps saying things like he made "us" a sign--& when "we" do such & such---I do not want to have a yard sale--they are a lot of work to prepare for & the return is so low that I said no---well he thinks he can be nice & I will reciprocate & help him---we shall see...

As for today, I have to go grocery shopping, pay bills & then clean house. We are having the kids come over for father's day.

Bad weekend for the town to have yard sales, in my opinion.

they are having yard sales all over here tomorrow, signs are everywhere,, maybe the money is being gathered for the kids to get pops something? I know here in my area yard sales are everywhere all year long, could also been people are getting rid of things in order to pay bills.
Carol it seems you are so busy, I don't blame you for not wanting do it this weekend. Besides you have to prepare for the kids coming over on Sunday. A garage sale IS a lot of work, as why I haven't had one. I just generally give stuff away to people I know that need it, or can really use it,, everything else goes in the trash.

Thanks Diane, While I do not like to have them---I do love to go to them. DH says he will try it this year & if he finds it is not worth it, he will not do it again. I have tried to gently explain to him how he will not make much, but he is determined to try---so hey, it will be a good experience for him.

While I will be staying home to clean & prepare for Sunday, I will go to one sale at ladies house here in a subdivision close to me. The local postmaster has been trying to get us together for a few years now---Apparently she grows flowers & such to sell on E-bay--you know, bulbs, & rhizomes, etc.....I was told right now she has daylilies to sell. Whatever she has, it will be a good excuse to go over to her house & get to know her.

and as I feel like today is Saturday, I will have a whole extra day now, to get ready for Sunday.. shewinks bow

Happy Saturday Moening !! Are we having fun yet ??? I am up early to help my DH---not that he needs it...rolz...He just told me that it may rain & so he is thinking of keeping his tables in the garage---

I do so hope that there is not rain today---or at least that the showers are scattered. But as I have a lot to do today, I guess that getting up at 6 was a good thing.

It's raining off and on here today,, but when the sun does come out it's gonna be so muggy boohoo

I'm gonna take the boys to Game Stop today. This past week they compiled games they don't play anymore that we will take with us. Game stop will let you trade old games in and exchange them to credit towards New games. Also gonna pay bills, and run a few other errands, and try to get back before it gets hot and sticky out.
Carol good luck with the garage sale ,know you have a big day tomorrow, try not to exhaust yourself today. kissie

We are back,, the boys trade in value for their xbox games came to $96 Dollars. Tre asked the employee DOLLARS? 96 DOLLARS? shock clap the Game stop worker cracked up. lol
Tre and Breyton each got a NEW game, and we got 3 age appropriate used games for Julian. And a huge pack of AA batteries for their controls. they were proud of them selves for choosing the right games to take back for resale with the highest demand. One of the games alone was worth 17$ resale trade in value. They still have more to exchange *next time*
I went to the grocery store and of course bought more than I intended egad paid bills, and now look forward to Next payday zoink

You might look into the Nyko Rechargeable Batteries, Quick Charge Kit, and the Play and Charge Kit; will save $$ when it comes to batteries.

I used to have a Play and Charge Kit but they're not the most resilient things out there; the Quick Charge Kit I've hard for years (like when it first came out like 4 years ago) and it's great. The Nyko batteries outlast and out perform the Microsoft battery packs.

I think at this point Trey and I have 6 Nyko batteries for 5 controllers...

Game Stop MIGHT have them, but there are some things I've found that I wouldn't buy used...

That's true James,, some things I won't buy used from Game stop, rechargeable items is one for sure. I was just wondering if they had New ones, I will call and ask them. The Game Stop nearest my home, is a larger store, and they carry a lot of new items that a lot of the smaller games stops don't in this area. Maybe I'll get lucky and not have to order one on line. thumbup

Morning All from Estes Park,

It's a beautiful if kinda windy day here, may get a t storm in a while but we are sitting here by the river, reading and watching birds bathe in the water. We will go for a walk soon then back to cabin for some lunch and more relaxing... It's a nice way to spend a weekend for sure.

A very relaxed

Yeah, quantity of items varies from store to store; some stores have a lot of accessories, some have the large game bin where there are heavy discounts, etc.
