I've heard it forever but have never planted by it but it must work. I planted cabbage in what must have been a waning moon because nothing I did would keep the worms away. I picked them off every morning and afternoon, I sprayed with Neem Oil. They were relentless. I finally decided that I might not eat the cabbage but I was killing those damn worms and I sprayed them with Seven. Killed the worms it directly hit but they were right back the next morning. I only got 2 decent heads of cabbage. Our carpenter planted his cabbage during the waxing moon and didn't have a problem at all. He brought me a beautiful head of cabbage this morning.

back in the day they planted like that,, My uncle swore by it,,, American Indians used that planting method... Most tribes did,,

I did a search,, there are many many sites dedicated to planting by the moon,, when to plant, sow, weed, turn soil, what veggies to plant when,,etc,, I don't think I can show links here because a lot of them had forums attached But they were very very informative,, thumbup teach

My sister said she thinks the moon phases have something to do with insect life cycles which makes sense to me. If you know when the insects are still in the larvae stage or whatever stage when dormant, then they won't be eating your plants.

I try to take one day at a time -- but sometimes several days attack me at once.

I need to study up on the life cycle of the squash bugs. I hate those things.
