Well, the XBox is a gaming console, and Call of Duty is a war game

dodge, remember a few years back there was some type of argument on here and many people either left or got poofed. Jiffy and Loz were in that group. It's been at least 3 years I will say. Where in the world did you read she lost her job since you're not on Facebook. I do know that she just recently got a part time job at her local library. She was out of work for about a year. I think age discrimination is certainly alive and well. My friend worked for Atena insurance company for 27 years and when they downsized she was laid off. She went on so many interviews. She had a vast amount of insurance knowledge but no one would hire her. She finally asked a lady if it was her age and the lady said "I really can't say this but yes, it's age discrimination. If I take your application to our HR department they'll just laugh at me." Knowledge doesn't count for anything if you're over 35.

Here it can be much the opposite; they take full advantage of older workers since they get tax breaks galore...

I'm pretty lenient, I don't think anyone has to worry about that unless they go on a mass spam spree...

Same here,, My boss has hired many in there 50's this past 2 years Because we needed someone with experience, Hire them they sit down and get to work and do it well. Younger people now days don't have the same work ethic as 'seasoned' employees, take the cell phones away and maybe the young ones could get some work done, LOL

If you were here Carol I'd hire you in a second,, we need someone to answer the phone and transfer them to the right departments, and schedule custom shade patients,, they hired 3 young girls the last 6 months 2 quit, and 1 was let go ,, all three were always on their cell phones on FB or playing games, They are now seeking someone 40 to 65 years old to man the main phone line and schedule,, My boss is fed up with 18-30 yr olds like I said before NO work ethic, and not committed to work when they are there.

we even have retired gentlemen as our delivery drivers taking cases from the lab back to the dentist offices,,

that's a good company you got there Dianne. You'd think more companies would figure this out.

It has been my experience that the younger less experienced workers a company has the less they have to pay them & sadly THAT is the bottom line a lot of the time. why

& Diane: Thanks for the kind words--I appreciate it.
