I just looked up the "different" bird that was eating the spilled sunflower seeds under the feeders yesterday. It has orange coloring, but was definitely NOT a robin. Looks like I saw my first EASTERN TOWHEE! Hope it comes back so I can get a better look and hopefully a picture!

Thanks, Tonya! It DEFINITELY is a male Eastern Towhee - he was here again this morning for about an hour, so I got a really good look at him. Even got to see him do his backward dig with his legs - very cute!
Wonder if he has any friends around - I've only seen this one...

I HEARD two Eastern Towhee males singing about a mile from my house today and heard an Eastern Meadowlark singing close to Andrew Jackson's grave.
Kingdoms RAGE and go to war...but the PEasants plant potatoes.. EARTH FIRST! (we'll strip-mine the OTHER planets later.)
